Submissions will close on the 23rd of May (might be extended), so take your time! I have an exam that day, so winners will come out shortly afterward.

As for when I will start drawing... the dates for my final exams have not been confirmed, but the last exam will likely be on the 20th of June

I will check and approve of the MC myself and send a comment once I do. If I forgot to check for you or if I approved and forgot to include your name in the raffle, I'll be compensating for it, so don't worry!

NOTE: For those of you who have your children listed as friends for Abia or Inara (check under "Honorable Mention"), I recommend you submit a different MC, because not only do I currently have a challenge running for them, but they're pretty much my priorities for art. Meet Alysa Nouzen

also known as Hogwarts' resident curse-breaker!

❥﹑she was born on September 3rd 1972, making her the oldest in her year and also a virgo

❥﹑she grew up in the English countryside with her wizarding family. they lived in close proximity to a muggle village but did not interact with them, so she doesn't know much about muggles nor their technology

❥﹑through her father, she is part of the very old and very rich pureblood family Nouzen. however, her father became estranged from them before she was born, so she has no connection to them at all. she can't use the family wealth, but she absolutely takes advantage of the family name.

Alysa is known to be very kind and outgoing, and people have a tendency to be surprised when they find out she's a Slytherin. But as she always says,

❝ the most effective slytherins are the ones you least expect ❞

She is always happy to lend a hand to a student in need, and her willingness to go out of her way for others has earned her several very resourceful contacts. She has a friend for almost any situation. She, of course, denies that this happened on purpose.

Her only friend growing up was her older brother Jacob and his disappearance when she was younger hit her very hard, and the failure to find him left her extremely mistrustful of authority figures. She has a tendency to want to do everything herself as a result, even when it doesn't make sense to do so.

While many consider her a friend or even a close friend, her actual circle is very small, and her best friend Rowan Khanna is really the only person she fully trusts. Because of her outgoing persona, most people fail to see that she's a very guarded person to the point of often feeling lonely.

Alysa wants to do everything at Hogwarts (from breaking every curse to being Head Girl) for two main reasons: the first is her ambition and desire to be the best at what she's passionate about (and anything that will help her get to where she wants to be, she'll do), but the second is that it enables her to stay busy all the time and never think about her own emotions or her own sadness/loneliness.

When she went to Hogwarts, Alysa's main focus became the Cursed Vaults, and like her brother before her, it became a very unhealthy obsession.

Alysa has always been a tad bit obsessive. When she was a child, she developed an interest in Nifflers and would talk about nothing else for four months. some of her other interests through the years include

❥﹑mystery novels. she would never finish them because she'd get caught up trying to solve the mystery on her own

❥﹑butterflies. when she was six years old, she could identify almost any butterfly within three seconds of looking at one

❥﹑muggle music, specifically The Cure. none of her friends can stand the latter but they're too nice to say anything

Though the Cursed Vaults are an unhealthy obsession and started with the desire to find her brother above all else, Alysa discovers a genuine passion for curse-breaking and she seeks out other mysteries and curse-breaking opportunities wherever she goes. For the most part, the Hogwarts faculty recognize and even respect her ambition; however, the fact that she becomes more and more of a workaholic as she gets older does worry everyone in her life, and they worry that once she gets a job her work-life balance will be virtually nonexistent. They are right, but that's also the way she wants it.

She also discovers her love for Quidditch while at Hogwarts. She's played on the Slytherin team since her second year— two years as a Chaser, one as a Beater, and she’s interested in playing as a Keeper next if the opportunity presents itself.

She is also a devoted member of the Dueling Club at Hogwarts and spends a lot of her time practicing there. She likes dueling because it combines her favorite subjects: Defense Against the Dark Arts, Charms, and Transfiguration.

❥﹑she doesn't have a specific Quidditch team she follows, at least not until her friends get recruited

❥﹑these two are the closest she has to hobbies, but she also picks them because they help her with curse-breaking in the long term and help her stand out. she also uses them as an opportunity to stay busy.

While she never had much of an interest in wizards' music, Alysa develops a love of muggle music after Ben introduces her to it one summer and she discovers a music store in the muggle town near her house.

❥﹑she doesn't want to make any enemies out of useful or powerful people, but Merula is determined to be prickly

❥﹑Barnaby named her Firecrab "Blood Joe" and he won't answer to anything else now

Some additional facts

❥﹑she doesn't have a favorite food nor a hated food. most of the time, she can barely taste the food anyway. this has less to do with her depression and more to do with disliking british food

❥﹑despite her previous obsession with Nifflers and butterflies, her favorite animal is actually a Hippogriff

❥﹑she is 169 centimeters (5'6 feet) tall

❥﹑the golden butterfly she wears in her hair is the Nouzen family crest, but only a few recognize it

❥﹑she is technically part of the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black through her maternal grandmother and is on the family tapestry, though she does not share their values on muggles and muggle-borns in the slightest. Kreacher would have to take orders from Alysa because her grandmother was never disowned

❥﹑her favorite teachers are Professor McGonagall and Professor Kettleburn

Anyways that's it for now I can't wait to draw her more and to keep playing Hogwarts Mystery to see what happens! This is my player character in case you couldn't tell LOL and she doesn't have a romantic partner yet, I'll have to see who appeals as the story goes on!

Okay I ended up writing this because of @light-of-the-room so. Blame her. Marilla is her OC lol

Chat I wrote this in like ten minutes if it’s bad I’m sorry

Even nifflers showed effects of time. Marilla, once a honey-brown colour, had grey strands around her muzzle. She didn’t move nearly as fast as she once did. Her vision was cloudy.

But she was still happy. Happier than she had ever been.

She felt the warm hands of her owner lift her up from her bed. Marilla wiggled a little bit as the cool air nipped at her body, but she didn’t struggle. Perhaps she was getting a sweet treat, and where would she be if she misbehaved? Back in her pen with no cinnamon rolls.

To the niffler’s surprise, she was set into another pen like her own. No treats were there, but she recognized the smell of one of her daughters.

As well as some other scents.

Before Marilla knew it, there was a small black body nuzzling against her, chattering. Even if her hearing had went downhill through the years, she always recognized the calls of her own.

“They’re a healthy bunch,” Marilla heard the man with the suitcase say. “All three of them. Congrats Marilla, you’re a grandmum!”

Grandmum. That meant this ball of fluff at her side—

“Squeak?”

The little black thing squealed as Marilla began to lick her clean. She tried to escape, but Marilla wrapped her paws around her small body.

She’d be the best grandmum ever.

Facts

Yaqoub was a bit of a womanizer and would sneak girls into the manor. Abia always hung it over his head and would threaten to tell their dad every time she caught him. She never did it as of now, but it was enough for her to blackmail him for candy

Although she lives in a large manor, Abia feels like it is too big for her taste, and would much rather live in a smaller, cozier home of her own when she grows older

Zein always taught Abia that with your opponents, there’s no such thing as mercy. If they hit you, you hit back ten times harder. He thus taught her the cruciatus curse in case she ever got cornered by someone with bad intentions and had no other way out, as a last resort. She tried before, but was unsuccessful as she didn’t have the sadistic urge needed to cause harm. It took her a while until she learned even her father wasn’t 100% correct. He also started teaching her Muggle martial arts when she was younger.

Yaqoub and Abia once blew up fireworks in the manor’s gardens. It ended with them accidentally burning down the guest house. Yes, they got grounded. Yes, they did it again, but without any fires this time. That’s the memory she thinks of when summoning her patronus

Abia’s great-great-grandmother is a Veela. Because of this, she’s technically 1/16th Veela. However, because of how distant that is, she doesn’t have any of the enchanting powers half-veelas or quarter-veelas showcase. Though she and Yaqoub *did* inherit the beauty and glowing skin

If you get detention, there’s a 50% chance you’ll find her there as well

In case you can’t tell, she’s very romantic. Do not let her know who your crush is, or she will actively and persistently play matchmaker. Oh, and she will tease you a lot, but it’s all friendly
