* GALAXY EYES.

jin’s dorm room is marked first by cleanliness and organization.    there’s never a time where there’s a single thing out of place.   she takes great pride in how her room looks;   how clean it looks,   how it’s well-kept,   her expensive decorative items and satin duvet.   but upon further inspection,   it’s obvious that it lacks personality.    no photos of her family adorn the walls or surfaces,    and no posters cover the wall.   it seems to be more of a picture belonging in a decorative magazine than an actual dorm room.

“all this talk of wars and things of the like    ...     it really gets a girl thinking.”    jin says quietly.     “i don’t want to have any regrets.   i want to stop being so afraid.”    /    ( @newagestarters​ )

“part of me thinks maybe they should just   ...   send everyone home,   right  ??”  jin muses,   more to herself than anything.   “it couldn’t have just been an accident  ...   right  ??”  /  ( @newagestarters​ )

WONJAE:

                    jay half-chuckles,   half-moans against her mouth,   sliding his hands down over her sides,   over her hips.   he gets a good grip of her thighs  (one of his favourite parts of her body   –   though he’s hard pressed to choose just one thing about jinny that he likes best)  and tugs,   lifting her up and winding her legs around his hips.   he mouths his way down her jaw,   sucking at the pulse point of her neck.               ❝  so eager,   baby,   you’re so hot.  ❞

they've done this dance before,   so attuned with each other's bodies and desires that jin knows to hop up into his grip before he even prompts her to. she's arching into his touch,   his mouth hot against her neck,   and whines loud and drawn out.  "fuck,   fuck,  wonjae. want you so bad."   she's glad she's pressed against the wall,   because she's able to move her hands to trail to his collar, ripping desperately at the buttons.

SIRIUS:

                        ❝   oh honey,   you’re adorable.   ❞              sirius sighs,  no trace of condescension in their voice.  they think it’s sweet,   admirable even,   that she’s so positive     –    and sometimes they wish that they were more like that.  they take a deep breath,  shuffling closer to her and slipping one of their arms over her shoulders,  shaking her gently.               ❝   if that’s true,   then why haven’t you told him how you feel  ?   ❞

“um  ...   well.”   jin deflates some,   leaning into their arm like they’re her crutch;   she’s always found this subject particularly hard to talk about,   mostly because she’s not hopeful about it.  “i don’t think he’d be very happy about it.  he  ... he really values his freedom,  and his independence.   and i think at the first talk of commitment,   he might just  ... bolt.   so i figure,  even though this sucks it’s better to have him part of the way than not at all ...”

PADRAIC:

It’s my favorite class. He smiled, excited as she was going to teach him something in Japanese. Watching as she said the word out by syllable,  he did his best to mouth the words, this having helped him with learning to lip-read the two verbal languages he did know. 

jin likes padraic,   likes that even as an adult he still has a sense of childlike wonder.   it makes her forget the dark times looming just ahead.  “yes,  exactly  !!  you’re really good at language.   that’s a talent,  you know   !!   most people find it hard to grasp other languages.   i know i do.”

DON:

                     ❝   oh,  am i that transparent  ?   ❞               don smiles,  but it doesn’t quite reach his eyes.    if it were anybody else,  don would make himself scarce    –    conversations about favourite colours were juvenile,   but jin was beautiful,   and it had been so long since he’d had a little fun.                 ❝     blue is nice,   yeah.   i like purple too,   actually.   it’s,  um.   regal,  you know  ?    in the old days,  purple dye was super hard to find and expensive,   so only the wealthiest families could own it.    ❞

jin thinks maybe she’s laying it on a little thick,   thinks maybe she shouldn’t be spending the night cooped up in the corner with some stranger;   but don’s charming and handsome,   makes her cheeks flush and makes her temporarily forget about the boy that makes her heart ache.   “oh,   yes   !!   that’s really neat,   actually.   i always thought purple was regal,   but i never really knew the history behind it.   i think you’d look good in purple,   come to think of it.  but you’d look good in anything,   i bet  ...”

JAY:

                   ❝   ohhh,   poor baby.   ❞                jay teases,    reaching up with one of his hands to roll his thumb along her pouty lower lip,   the smile on his face turning predatory,    sharp at the edges.    somehow it always ends up here,   jin whining and begging,    and jay only too happy to please.                 ❝    such a pretty girl,    aren’t you baby   ?     ❞           he stands her up,    and then they’re hurrying across the school,    oblivious to everybody else around them.    they don’t stop until they’re in his room,    and then he’s pressing her against his closed door and slotting his mouth against hers.

they always end up like this   --    jin’s body pressed against jay’s,    desperately seeking the type of attention and affection that jay just doesn’t reciprocate for her  --   and jin somehow always allows it,  craves it,    despite knowing that it’ll only hurt her.     she tries not to focus on that,   though.   tries not to remember that tomorrow it’ll be someone else in her shoes.   she tries to play her desperation off as simply the haze of sex,    of longing for just physical closeness,   though there’s no mistaking the way she curls her fingers into his shirt until her knuckles turn white,    or the way she presses endlessly close against him,   kissing him like it’s the last time.

SIRIUS:

                            sirius is ready for a good story,    pressing their hands together and resting them under their chin like they’re praying.       they’re ready to poke fun    –    only harmless,   just some friendly banter    –    thinking jin just another girl with a hopeless crush,      but her words hit a little too close to home.     their expression softens,     and they shake their head at jin’s question.                ❝   no,   honey.    it’s not stupid.   ❞              they groan,     rolling their eyes as they drop their hands from their chin.    she looks embarrassed,    and they feel responsible for making her feel better.                 ❝   i’ve been in love with my best friend for a long time now too.  so maybe we’re both desperate losers  ?   ❞            

jin’s never been met with such a reaction;     not one of pity,    sympathy disguised as simply a look of    ‘ wow,   what a sad girl,   what a stupid,    silly girl.’    but rather one of understanding,    one of unfortunate companionship.    she feels sad,    deep inside.    she knows what it’s like,     wouldn’t wish it on her worst enemy.    “i don’t think we’re losers.”   jin says,   quietly with a small,   brave smile.   “i think loving someone is the bravest thing you can do.”

DON:

                      she gives him a side glance and he wonders what she’s thinking. he’s usually invisible to the general population – something he’s glad about. she’s smiling though, obviously he doesn’t appear to be a threat. he mirrors the smile with a muted one of his own.                   ❝ hm. i suppose so. colour preference is so personal, huh ? what’s yours ? ❞  

“oh,    just my favorite color   ??”   jin pauses,   thinking on it.   it’s a sweet question   --   she can’t help but smile reflexively,   wonders where such an innocent thought came from.   “i really like pinks and purples.   maybe magenta is my favorite.   what about you   ??   you seem like  a blue guy to me.”

PADRAIC:

you should teach me something in japanese. you just have to say it slow, divide up the syllables so I can read your lips til I memorize it. it was how he’d learned both Russian and English growing up. In fact he could read lips in Russian before even knowing BSL. My instructor gave it to me when I was little because animals followed me around. 

“oh   !!   that’s so neat.    so you must have a bond with animals,   right   ??    i bet you love care of magical creatures then.”    jin says   --   she thinks it’s neat that he was given a name sign so personal to him.   “oh.   okay   !!   well,   japanese is like,   short kind of shart syllables.   so like   ...   if you want to thank someone for a meal,    you’d say  i-ta-da-ki-ma-su.   we usually say it after or before a meal   !!”

JAY:

                 ❝ show you ? ❞               jay hums, sliding his hands down her sides, down along her thighs and then back up, slower, against her inner thighs. he ghosts his fingers across her groin, keeping his eyes on hers with a little smirk.                 ❝ hm. now how would i show you that, jinny ? ❞    

“yeah,    show me   --”    she’s shocked into stillness at his touch,   just as she always is.   jin recovers quickly though,   pouting at jay,   a whine to her voice as she speaks.    “wonjae.    don’t tease me.    take me to your dorm.”   and then there’s a pause.    “please.”

SIRIUS:

                           ❝ a boy ! heavens no. ❞     sirius’ eyes get all big and they lean in closer, smirking excitedly at jin.          ❝ tell me about the boy, then. i’ll be ask sirius, your friendly magazine agony aunt. ❞  

“he’s just   --   he’s not just a boy.”    jin admits,   flushing.   she’s never really talked about it out loud before,   never heard herself speak about jay.   she hopes sirius won’t think she’s a lovesick loser.   “he’s   ...   well,   i’m pretty certain he’s my soulmate.   i’ve been like   ...  honestly  ??   in love with him for years.  but it’s stupid,   right   ??”

DONAVON:

                       donavon notices jin immediately, she’s pretty – delicate features and a soft melodic voice – and he can tell by the way she carries herself that she’s rich, most definitely a pure-blood. he smiles, a small curl of his mouth.                  ❝ red and gold ? it’s a little cliché, don’t you think ? ❞  

“hmm,   maybe.”   jin admits,   casting a glance donavon’s way   --   she doesn’t recognize him,   thinks maybe he might be a slytherin but she’s not heard bad things about him,   so she smiles pleasantly.    “but cliche things can be beautiful too,    can’t they  ??”

JAY:

                     jay is dancing, moving his body to the loud music – paying no attention to the people around him. he doesn’t really care much about house cups or quidditch cups or anything, but he can never pass up the opportunity for a party. he’s so consumed by the music that he doesn’t notice somebody beside him and accidentally knocks their drink out of their hands. he spins around, horrified.                   ❝ oh god ! i’m so sorry, i gotta pay more attention. are you okay ? ❞   

jin’s found a cute gryffindor guy to dance with,   and it’s just in time for the songs to turn upbeat.   the dance floor floods and jin and her gryffindor boy  (  who she’s already forgotten the name of,  honestly  )  are there too,   so close they might as well be one person.   and then she feels the splash of something cold on her bare arm and she gasps, jumping away on instinct  -- and then she turns to see that the boy’s entire front is covered in liquid,   and who else but jay is there ??

“it’s okay.   go ahead,    i’ll be here.”   jin reassures him,  and the guy is off to his dorm to go change with the promise that he’ll be right back.    someone else cleans the remainder of the mess on the floor up with the flick of a wand as jin turns to jay.   “you need to be more careful.”

“i mean, there could be worse houses to win,   right   ??  just look at those colors.  they’re so cute together  !!  and anyways,   and excuse to celebrate is always welcome !!”  /  ( @newagestarters​ )
