One of the most beautiful parts of Young Royals is Wilhelm's journey with internalized homophobia. Going from "I'm not like that" to "I like you" to "I love you" in such a short period of time is so amazing. Internalized homophobia is a really hard thing to work through and I love the way Wilhelm's growth was written.

I’m not sure if someone has already talked about this and this is probably the unpopular opinion but I don’t think that Willhelm was ready to come out to everyone and say that it was him in that video. internalized homophobia sucks af and I don’t think that he was ready to label himself. He wanted to do it for Simon and to be in this thing together with Simon and it probably sounded good in theory but he wasn’t ready. And like Simon said: Willhelm has to figure out what he wants and he needs to do it alone. He can’t be doing things because of everyone else, of course it’s expected now that he’s the crown prince but yeah.

Willhelm got outed and got the whole thing taken away from him before himself probably accepted his sexuality.
