i sit back & observe every person in my life. I know who supports me, who’s down for me, & who’s not. might not say nothin but trust, I know

Sometimes you don’t get what you want because you deserve better
Nobody is easy to date. Everyone has their insecurities, flaws, and certain ways of doing things that makes us who we are. Perfect people and relationships only exist on TV. The most important thing is finding someone who loves you on your worst days and will fight through the hard times.
Sue Zhao // Dialogues on Love #4 // “Maybe I already do”
“But Christ did not die for the good and beautiful. It is easy enough to die for the good and beautiful; the hard thing is to die for the miserable and corrupt[…]”
— Shūsaku Endō, Silence
I [forgive] myself for loving
those who have harmed me for cooking them dinner & burning the rice forgetting to add pepper or make myself a plate I [forgive] myself for staying I [forgive]
myself for staying until I left my skin
— Brandon Melendez, from “Standing at The Mirror, The Author Writes A Poem for Himself in Which the Word Hate Is Replaced with The Word Forgive,” published in Frontier Poetry
not to be cliche, but life really is the little things. that cup of coffee in the morning i make while dancing to silly songs. that one time someone said my hair looked really cute (even though i disagree). or when i draw something and finally feel confident about it. when i find a quote i deeply resonate with and it stays with me. minutes i spend laughing with someone i love. life is that. the small, really small stuff adds up to the big picture, so when i look back i see little snippets of everything and everyone i’ve ever loved.
romanticize your life
“I weep because you cannot save people. You can only love them. You can’t transform them, you can only console them.”
— Anaïs Nin, from Nearer the Moon: The Previously Unpublished Unexpurgated Diary, 1937-1939
