Unsuitable for Children

On only children

Q: I really feel like I couldn't possibly handle another child. I feel like that's not a good enough reason. Is it okay for me to want an only child just for that reason?

A: ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?! There is NO BETTER REASON to not have another child than thinking you can't handle it!

Baby Stormageddon loves television. He doesn't really watch it, but he loves the theme music. He will stop and dance to the music from any of our favorite shows, and he also loves shows with a lot of music, like those dance competition shows. Mostly he plays on the floor with his toys while his dad and I watch, looking up only to bop in time to the music and clap. He has a great sense of rhythm. Good Enough Daddy thinks he's going to be a musical prodigy

I am going to miss this age when he's big enough to want to watch kids' shows, and/or he is old enough to know what's going on and we have to turn off things that are less child-appropriate.

Your baby needs a sane, healthy, stable, loving mommy and/or daddy more than he needs a stressed, depressed mommy and/or daddy who (1) breastfeeds exclusively for the first two years; (2) makes all his baby food from scratch; (3) cloth diapers; (4) quits his/her job to stay home full-time (and, eventually, homeschool); (5) provides him a sibling (at the ideal spacing) ...

There is nothing wrong with doing any of those things if they work for you and your family, but if you're going to go stark raving mad if you have to hear the Baby Bullet one more time, buy the damn baby food.
