i’d have to thoroughly disagree with this. they are both men, yes, but wes and elliot (and other fcs alike) are trans men. don’t erase a trans person’s identity because you think that your character is cis. find a cis fc, they are quite plentiful.

i can understand that too!! it sounded better in my head, but it’s late so my mind is all jumbly. i am interested though on your opinion on trans people, specifically in acting, playing cis characters? because i feel that is also a sort of thing i’m on the fence about!! less so on cis actors/actresses playing trans characters especially since things went so horribly wrong with matt bomer and elle fanning (we won’t mention scarlett)  thank you for responding!!

dw abt @‘ing me !! but honestly i think in the terms of acting, that’s more of a decision on their part and should be respected as such. they themselves chose do to that role. they knew that character they were going to portray is cis and agreed to it.

and because of that, we shouldn’t use it as evidence that this person is okay with being roleplayed as cis because they agreed a part in a movie / show. that specific actor didn’t agree to be played as cis within this community and someone essentially takes away their right to choose when they write them as cis.

i never thought of it that way! that’s absolutely a good point. and what i’m gathering (please tell me if i’m wrong lol) is that by playing a trans character as cis in a roleplay setting takes away that choice which is not cool to put it mildly. i can see that. thanks so much for the other viewpoint!! it’s definitely helped change my own opinion.

As a butch lesbian, I HATE when ppl call me a stereotype. I CANT be a stereotype Bc I EXIST! A stereotype is a fictional manifestation of conflated ideals abt a specific group of ppl. But I’m not fictional!! I’m in This Bitch!!! Just say u hate lesbians and go!

Also - making a lesbian character butch isn’t a Stereotype either. Making her predatory and obsessed w str8 girls is a stereotype, bc that’s a concept non-lesbians invented. But butch lesbians just exist.

To make a lesbian character butch is actually powerful bc it’s making it undeniable that she’s gay. it’s showing men a woman and saying very clearly “she’s not for you!” And that’s not a lesbian stereotype! That’s a lesbian truth!!!

i saw someone talking about wes tucker and whether or not he could be played as a cis man or if he had to be played by a trans man, and the answer was handled fine (the question was worded weird but that could have been an esl fudge up). but, i’ve been thinking about whether or not that’s plausible, and i personally think it’d be fine to play a trans man as a cis man because at the end of the day, they’re both men. of course, you should want to play wes or any other trans man (elliot fletcher to mention someone popular) as trans, but if the muse you have fits cis more then i don’t think it’s so bad. fellow trans friends, what are your thoughts?
