Introduction and Submission Guidelines

Hello and welcome to the asks and submissions blog for Good Omens prompts!

If you have a prompt you’d like to see filled, submit it here through an ask or submission, or tag us, and we’ll reblog it! If you fill a prompt from this blog and @ mention us, we’ll reblog it here too!

Guidelines for prompts submissions:

Please keep prompts safe for work. There are kink memes here and here if you have nsfw prompts.

This blog defines NSFW content as overly sexual content, overly graphic violence, non/dub con, underage shipping content, and explicit drug use, to be determined at the discretion of the mods.

We will also not tolerate or post submissions which contain bigotry or discriminatory language. These include (but are not limited to) racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, religious discrimination, etc.

Gen prompts are welcome.

Shipping prompts are welcome.

Headcanons are welcome.

This isn’t a requirement, but your prompt will generally have a much better chance to be filled if it is not vague. Give writers something specific to work with! Even minor details can spark inspiration, but it’s difficult to work something too non-specific (for example, “something angsty with Aziraphale and Crowley” is too probably too vague for most writers).

If your prompt will not fit into a single ask, please use the submit feature. If you wish to remain anonymous, please ID your asks with more than the standard (½) notation so we can tell which follow-ups belong to which initial asks.

Crowley accidentally ruins one of Aziraphale's books

Backfiring/This is rather Backwards.

(Umm, this is rather (very) nasty to Crowley on an emotional level so might need a warn for that? Also, long post.)

So we all know that Crowley’s Works tend to backfire on him BIG TIME, right?  See:  Bringing down all of London’s area networks so he can’t call Aziraphale.  See:  Making the M25 a flaming orbital somewhere-hole and promptly getting trapped inside of it.   Also, the communications technology backfiring on him with the injured cartoon rabbits - radio and just general actual Hell involved with technology.   Also, I’d like to point out that  TV-Crowley’s immediate reaction to TV-Aziraphale’s “Well, I’ll be…” was reassurance that it wasn’t so bad when you got used to it. 

AutoCorrect Fail was also Crowley’s idea.   As was the phone changing the case randomly.   As was drafts sending before it should.  Oh, and follow-up texts/correction getting lost in the ether….that’s his fault too. Crowley is oh-so-proud of himself - for a bit, anyway.

And then Aziraphale tries texting - and tries to send Crowley a long rambling pointless story about a lower-case fall - lower-case, don’t worry.   Things do not go to plan - or well, not Aziraphale’s, anyway.   I mean, technically they go to Crowley’s plan but see backfiring.

His little demonic pranks are far far far less amusing when they turn “I fell and [5 texts of pointless rambling later] and anyway I thought the story might amuse you because [some comment]” into a simple “I Fell.“  OOPS.

Aziraphale had only really tried it out of some idle curiosity anyway and goes back to reading after sending THAT text  - completely and utterly oblivious to what he’s Just Done.

Aziraphale has no idea what is going on with the aftermath.   Well, he understands some of it, at least.  He understands why there is a demon in his bookshop - only the usual one.  The suddener-than-usual appearance…well…Aziraphale just chalks that one up to Patience being a Virtue, not a Vice and brushes it off that way.

He understands that said usual demon is attempting to comfort him.   What he doesn’t understand is what the he- he- SOMEWHERE has  possessed Crowley to  go about it in quite this way.  Or quite what Crowley is TALKING ABOUT. Nor does the angel quite understand WHY Aziraphale is the one being comforted when the dear boy is CLEARLY distraught.   This is rather backwards.

Comfort follows once Aziraphale has got Crowley calmed down enough to actually put what-the-matter is into WORDS - and no, noises that are mostly consonants don’t count.  (“Ngk”) and nor do hisses.

Back to season 1 for this prompt-it may have been done already? When Azi discorporated and visits Crowley in the pub and is looking for a body and says “pity I can’t inhabit your body” but what if he could? And he finds out Crowley’s true feelings/maybe shares his thoughts? Or feels his love? while they share the body. (Do with this what you will, I know I can’t request smut here hehe)

What about an alternative take on the Gabriel amnesia situation, except it’s either Azi or Crowley who’s side have wiped their memory and they show up to the other’s door naked (obviously) and the other cares for them and tries to bring back their memory BUT because (whichever) has no memory they have no shame/no reason to hide their feelings about how handsome the other might be hehe and the other gets all flustered and embarrassed. Extra points for smut :)

Any Good Omens fic writers need a beta and are willing to match for being a beta? I am just starting and decided to put my massive S3 serious endeavour on hold to write what I never thought I'd want to - an AU!

Also Good Omens fic writers... or fic writers in general: Where do you find writing prompts?

I am trying to hunker down with the creatives. It has been a very hard few years for me and I've spent the greater part of the last 3 of them in bed doing less than fuck all.

Any encouragement or help I could get would be rewarded with virtual cake or whatever one is expected to give in exchange.

What if Crowley goes with Aziraphale to Heaven (to be with him/protect him) bit in making him an angel again, Metraton, removes that which caused him to fall: his ability to love (the stars, the Earth, humans, Aziraphale) and Aziraphale comes to realize how much demon Crowley loved him -now that he doesn't. Happy ending though please

Post season 2, Aziraphale hacks into Crowley's TV, hell-style, to do the apology dance. Perhaps he figured out how to do this on his own. Perhaps he pressed Michael who connected him with someone Downstairs. The real question is: what changed his mind? (The real real question is: will he score higher than a 7?)
