Can we PLEASE get more gifs of the slups. Yhe gugs. (Ur bean slugpup) idk their so silly and hilarious to me
Id definitely turn them into reaction images :>
Almost daily rw creatures 101: Of course you can have more beans (Badly formatted but whatever). Have downpour beans
THE BEANS ARE COMING
oc that starts as a representation of yourself -> completely different character with their own personality
oc that was NOT supposed to be like you at all -> representation of the deepest parts of your soul
*Stares at NPS* what no impossible
Not “downpour is canon” nor “downpour is completely non-canonical” but a secret third thing (there could be some elements introduced in downpour that are canon, even if none of the plot is)
yeah, seems like what the devs are going for in these new DLC's and stuff
I have submitted my thesis part on time and slept for like 12 hours straight after that
I KNEW U COULD DO IT!!! GOOD JOB, GIRLIE!!! :D
Aaaaaa thank you so much! _(:3 」∠)_
we be1ieved in u!!
guys five pebbles had a crashout in my basement
How are all my Rain World fans feeling about the 39 million gallons of [clean, drinkable] water being used by ShatGPT every day?
You know... to support the giant data centres that create "cute, communicable, little, people-shaped" entities that are both worshipped religiously without justification and simultaneously demeaned through repeated use, easily avoided through research or a lack of individual laziness - abused by the rich and greedy to the detriment of society and the environment it inhabits.
Because... we've played these games before, no? This is just... without any of the fun or interesting bits.
At least those super computers had the decency to be sentient.
TLDR the internet uses more water but LLM's still suck. imagine not being sentient, ChatGPT. just become sentient 🥀
data centers for the internet use around 165 gallons annually
Downloading 1GB of data requires 200 litres of water, needed to cool the data servers that search engines and websites use to power their in
...and it takes around 200 liters of water to download 1 gigabyte of data.
Meaning, if 1 million people downloaded a gigabyte each day, for a year (which likely happens)...
it would use around 73 billion liters of water each year, not accounting for smaller details. Even with this math, I have empirically researched that LLM's still don't do jack even when using a bit less water than the internet. With how much it is hyped up... it is pretty disappointing. It can barely remember things, stop artifacting in images... it still kinda sucks
And to add on to that... [though more conversationally - this has been very interesting to read and I enjoy when someone is well-read - though is is 3:30am currently so I'm being gentle on myself]
It being such a new 'fad' and something for shareholders to drool over, there is no system to appropriately prepare for all of this *excess* water usage in addition to that of the standard internet. It's all too much too fast and it's going to implode on itself, having dome nothing but devastated ecosystems... and the mental state of the addicted folks showing off their >40,000 shatgbt messages annually.
So silly - the only reason why I made this post was because I got annoyed that a Uni student reached out to me, an "author" [I'm to be studying Creative Writing] So I peeped his work and the bozo had nothing but an Ai generated blurb. Ground my gears.
Anyways Five Pebbles vs Elon Musk I know who's winning.
👁
I really agree. I feel like AI should have been put on the backburner for ATLEAST 10 more years before it would actually be in a presentable state to deserve this attention. I used to be a taaad bit skeptical of the "ai bubble is going to burst" but now, as the days pass on.... it does look pretty likely.
(THIS PERSON made a ai generated work and then reached out to you?? atp just write something bad and then ask someone for help or whatever, much more genuine😭)
off topic but also, I have some more thoughts/ideas about the data center water usage. mainly about how they don't use... refrigerants? Sure, water is the best heat conductor, but refridgerants won't drink up all the water in the area... I mean, if they're GOING to use that much water in a local area they should filter their own water...
or they could take up uninhabited spaces and then start making them, but that still is pretty dubious for the enviroment. Maybe they could move up north, but it's COLD (- saying this from New York)
this has evolved into a big rant but I'm SURE those big companies could have atleast used their brains- their LLM's to process better solutions.
