one of the things i've been trying to learn for wave symbol is the neurofunk bass, now used in neuro-hop and dubstep, too.

i've noticed that in my design, a lot of the sub bass is lost with the processing, so i made an extra sub bass to "reinforce the sub". the problem is, i can't seem to get it to glide properly along with the main, textured neuro bass, so it sounds somewhat jarring.

but yeah, once i get that sub proper, i intend to use a similar bass design for at least one song on wave symbol

did a couple of warmups to figure out where i need to be with the album, and here they are.

one was a minimoog (NI Monark) jam session and the other was a break constructed from sliced loops and hard drums in a kit.

they're silly but they were really fun

Only recorded trombone and trumpet for the horn part in this song and for days it was sounding too thin and I thought I was screwed. Today though I somehow unlocked the secret to make just two horns sound like many more horns through audio black magic.

A few days ago, a girl I knew was telling me how upset she was because she didn't pass an audition & told me we should just start our own idol (cover) unit & not care about any idol stereotypes or superficial restrictions, as long as we're doing something we love. She seemed super serious about it. I agreed 'cause I guess it's something I wanted to do since I was little. So, I have been trying to practice singing so that I don't let her down. But, I am still deathly scared of a family member over hearing me haha. Anyways, I've been practicing every day to try to get over this fear, but I still get super nervous. I guess here's a bookmark of my start. orz. & if it doesn't work out, it's okay too 'cause I just wanna do dumb lo-fi covers alone in my room someday.

Today I spent the latter half of the evening doing a spur of the moment Tatsuro Yamashita cover.  The original is very breezy and lovely and funky and rules completely, and I guess I projected my own mood onto it.  I dunno, I think it embodies the whole "optimistic desperation" idea that I reach for pretty well. Hope you dig it.

I have a new song coming out that isn't chiptune but I did a chiptune arrangement of it as a backing track for my shows coming up Saturday and Monday. Here it is minus the guitar and vocals, so I guess you'll just have to come to one of my shows to hear it in all its glory~

I also did an arrangement of Hybrid Rainbow to play for these shows too.
