Unpopular opinion, but I truly think they broke up in like 2015, or something. It just seemed a bit different, and the songs on MITAM felt like break up songs. Plus, it really just seems like they haven’t seen much of each other. Sure, we never know and they’ve been MIA a lot, but just cause they’ve broken up doesn’t mean they don’t still see each other. You don’t just throw that out the window. I think Freddie is his, but it was a mistake and he doesn’t like to talk about it, and it’s uncomfortable to see him/be in his life. I don’t think he’s with Eleanor, nor was he ever, but not all the others were fake. I think he dated Harry and they were so young and so crazy for each other, but I think the world that they lived in got the better of them. And now they’re just trying to move passed it. When Louis says there’s mutual respect I think that makes sense in a way. That’s a common thing you say about an ex. I respect him/her/them, I am proud of what they’re doing and who they’ve become, there’s mutual respect. Sure, it all depends on how you look at it, but as someone who thinks (as well as some others, @whenhazzametlou I believe) that they are not currently together, I do think it further confirms that they were, once. I also think there’s still a lot that is unresolved. Obviously, they are both in different positions and situations (for Louis, whether willingly or not) and even if they both felt strongly about getting back together, now wouldn’t be the right time. I can understand (from Harry’s perspective a bit more since he’s not so heavily closeted) not wanting to, because it’s going to lead to a whole lot of the same bullshit that probably broke them down in the first place. Louis still has demons to fight, and I’m sure he’ll get there some day. I’m not trying to start an argument, nor do I believe that this is what everyone should believe. I just think we all have a right to believe what we believe, and this is how I look at it. It might not necessarily be what I want, obviously I’d like them to be happy in general, and it seems like they were when they were together, so I wish I could believe that they secretly still are. I wanna believe really badly that Louis went home after this shit interview and just held Harry for a while. I want to, but I don’t. But for exes? Mutual respect is good. It’s about as much as he could say too, without making it clearer that they weren’t more than friends. Point is, this was rough, for everyone, and there’s more than one way to look at it, but i just truly hope that this will turn out (over the next couple of years) with both Louis and Harry happy in the end.
