Gaara's pale finger gestured to the cigarette packet still being rolled about in his hands. “Can I look at those?”

Grunting as he handed it over, Shikamaru lit the one hanging from his mouth. “You can’t have one,” he warned. "Temari will kill me."

The sound of feet scuffing to a short stop caught their attention, both boys looking up at once to the swinging blonde ponytails and scowl bestowed upon them.

As Temari’s eyes widened with rage, Shikamaru snatched the cigarette packet back from Gaara’s grip. It was undoubtedly improper to snatch something from a Kage, but he feared Temari more than he feared Gaara right now.

“Is he-?”

“No.” Shikamaru and Gaara both said rather quickly.

Temari gave her youngest brother a withering glare. “Did he offer you one?”

“No,” they said, again in unison.

Day 8 anf the final prompt for Gaara week 2026, I really liked the motivation for drawing almost everyday.

It was exhaustive because of my work but it was one of my New year goals and I accomplished it and I'm so happy 🤭
