okay wait that scene in the chuunin exams when kankuro replaces himself with a puppet and then lets his neck get snapped in a chokehold so everyone thinks he's just fucking died in front of them is great. but what's even greater is gaara turning to temari and going "what's the big deal?" right after which would suggest that kankuro just fucking. lets puppet replicas of himself get killed on a regular basis to the degree that his extremely out of touch insane younger brother thinks it's normal.

i'm imagining gaara sitting at the breakfast table eating like ninja oatmeal or whatever with temari and a puppet version of kankuro walks in, slips, falls, and cracks his skull open in front of them. and temari's like omg you are so fucking annoying that was funny the first 100 times you dork. and kankuro comes in through his perch by the window or whatever and is like no look i got the blood really realistic this time isn't it awesome. and gaara just sighs tiredly. probably the top ten most normal things about the sand siblings tbh

I think what I like most about Gaara is that he had great character development. Even if we didn't see it, he went from bloodthirsty psychopathic murderer to calm, collected, kind, rational and better man. That was a 180 turn and I like the fact that he willingly bettered himself.
