Locri's Supplies {Persephone - Jayne}
Kaylee kept up with Jayne with ease, her smile still wide and engaged. She knew he wouldn’t appreciate a fancy shirt; the man liked guns ‘n alcohol. She figured Simon of all people would understand her affinity for clothing, and appreciate the gift. All that would be revealed later, once she’d wrapped it up nice. Brown paper wasn’t going to cut it this time. “You’d wanna hang out later? I’m flattered. I figured you’d think I’d cramp y’style.” Kaylee nudged his shoulder, her attention shifting to the stores.
There it was; Locri’s Supplies. Simple little store used by passers-by and people from off-world alike. There were many crates, barrels and the like. Many different fruits and vegetables, though you could see the crates of protein out back. She nudged Jayne in the shoulder, rushing into the store before he could say a word. Seemed to her that there was bound to be fresh strawberries somewhere. And, work stuff. O’course.
But strawberries…
Jayne had never much minded the store when they'd stop in. The owners were decent enough, never really tried to overcharge too badly, knew when to back down when it came to negotiating a price. That and their produce was always fresh, something that was usually hard to come by. Jayne stepped through the entrance, shooting a look at some local who was staring at him, and trying to see where Kaylee'd run off to.
He should've figured he'd find her wandering around the fruit, her eyes darting toward the strawberries, same as always. It was kind of amusing, the way she lit up for the little red berries. He'd never understood her love of them, himself. The little seeds got stuck in your teeth and they just tasted a little odd to him. Still, he wasn't about to drag her away at the moment, she was enjoying herself and, for the first time, wasn't right on him like a hound tracking an animal.
"So y'gonna spend all day dawdlin' over the produce, cause we got business to tend to," he asked with a smirk.
