ultimusfantaji said: You always had the open option to recruit earlier ff roleplayers. I know we have a few from 6 but, sorry that you feel this way. Weâll miss you regardless and if you ever feel like re-joining, let me know.
I am aware of this. It's more a matter of the emphasis put on recruiting FFVII, FFXIII, and KH roleplayers. Yes, it is possible for me to recruit earlier FF character, but it all comes down to the fact that when you personally make posts asking for characters, it is almost always a character from one of those three games. This is likely because of the fact that you run a Final Fantasy group without having played 4-6. I forget whether or not you played 1-3, but if you haven't that's also an issue. The issue is that you run a Final Fantasy Roleplay Group (or is it just Square Enix in general? I have never been entirely clear on that detail), yet you haven't experienced all of the games, which causes members of those games you haven't played to fall by the wayside. Now, I do understand that you have been trying your hardest to be fair as an admin, and I appreciate the effort, but when you get to the bottom of it, it's just not possible to have a fair and balanced roleplay group when the admin of said group has only experienced the upper half of the games.
Now, in case you're entirely offended by what I've said thus far, or seething with fury at my words, I want to be clear--I mean in no way to offend you. I think that you personally are a fantastic person and among the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. It's just the matter of this group being so completely focused on the three games I've been continuously mentioning that members like myself just seem to be forgotten.
Of course it's not entirely all of your faults either. There's also just the simple matter of "I've lost my Golbez muse." This loss of muse was brought on by a number of things, the details of which I won't get into, but the fact is plain and simple--I don't have the ability to roleplay Golbez currently. There are Square Enix characters that I would feel more than comfortable playing, but none are Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, The World Ends With You, etc. so they're likely not valid.
That being said, there really isn't currently a way for me to remain in the group. I looked around at FFIX characters to see if any of the open ones caught my interest, but none did. As well, I don't have the desire to pick up a Final Fantasy IV muse at this point in time.
So, with all of this in mind, I can say that this is my official "resignation," per se (unless Chrono Trigger muses become available, but I would not want that to happen to stop my leaving, so please don't even consider it if you were at all). Now, I don't want any of you who I have befriended over my time here to think "OH NO HE'S LEAVING I'LL NEVER SPEAK TO HIM AGAIN I JUST LOST A FRIEND NOOOOOOO" (provided anyone likes me enough to think that way), since I'm not just "leaving the internet." A number of you have my Skype. A number of you have added me on my personal blog. Hell, a few of you even have me added on Facebook and have my cell phone number. If you have ANY of those things, please, by all means, DON'T hesitate to talk to me! I would be happy to talk to any of you. Truly, I do love you all, and I really have enjoyed my time here. I am just not comfortable with taking up any open muse, thus rather than forcing something, I'll leave while I still (hopefully) have friendship from a few of you.
Before you read this, know that I am on warning of being removed from Ultimus due to inactivity.
As much as I would love to remain in the group, I simply cannot find the ability to roleplay Golbez anymore. It has been a persisting issue for the past two-three weeks, and I am not so sure that itâŠ
Ooc: well Iâll miss ya my friend but you have a point.
However I just want to add: weâve always had the option to tell the Admin to send out a recruitment post for a certain character.
Despite this however our group still has an insane number from 7,13, and KH.
Part of it is because those are very popular, if not the most, games.
This aside however Iâll miss you in this group.
Whats your kefka rp btw? I donât think iâve added you :3
I am aware of that option, and I understand the popularity of those games. That still doesn't really justify the whole "more than one half of the group is made up of these" aspect.
Also, you can find my Kefka here. I haven't been on a couple of days (for obvious reasons yesterday), but I'll likely be on here and there over the weekend. Though I do keep a tendency to RP with FFVI characters, that will definitely be taken away for roleplays with a number of you. Just no Dissidia scenarios, as that's a game I haven't played.
noble-alyssum replied to your post: Before you read this, know that I am on warning of...
Iâd even start to discuss the fact of the preference for these three games, but I think i should keep quiet. Anyway, if you lost your muse and the mood for this, better to donât push yourself. Iâd like to have the chance to RP with you one day!
Don't, by any means, feel the need to keep quiet if you feel you have something to contribute to the discussion--I am absolutely open to discussing that affinity if you feel that I'm wrong in saying it exists (assuming that's your point, I may have misread).
But yes, I've tried to remain active over these past few weeks and it just hasn't been working. However, should I ever regain the ability to roleplay Golbez, I would be more than happy to do so with you!
Before you read this, know that I am on warning of being removed from Ultimus due to inactivity.
As much as I would love to remain in the group, I simply cannot find the ability to roleplay Golbez anymore. It has been a persisting issue for the past two-three weeks, and I am not so sure that it is an issue that will be resolved anytime soon. Going along with the idea of switching muses, I really am just not sure of who I would switch to. I've brought back my Kefka muse, but he is alright aligned with a group, and one that fits my preference of the earlier Final Fantasy games.
On that topic, that is another thing deterring me from continuing to roleplay in this group. As much as I love each and every friend I have made in the group thus far, there is a certain affinity towards games like Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy VII. While being a fan of them is by no means a problem (to say that it is would be ridiculous), the fact that the group as a whole has an open preference to them that generally leads the earlier games to fall by the wayside is a serious issue, at least, to someone like me who has a personal affinity towards the earlier games in the series. Part of that is because of how this group is clearly more notably a "Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy XIII, and Kingdom Hearts" RP group. When 29 out of the 49 (forgive me if I miscounted, it's late over here) is made up of one of these three games yet there are still posts like "Look for new members, especially if they're Kingdom Hearts!" while other games like Final Fantasy VI that only have one character don't get things like that is a bit of an issue.
I mean, it's no secret that I really am not a fan of Final Fantasy VII. I don't try to keep it a secret. I want people to know that I dislike it, that it's probably my least favorite Final Fantasy there is, but at the same time, that doesn't mean I don't want people to like it, that much I want to be clear. Whether or not you like the three big games listed (FFVII, FFXIII, and KH if you missed that detail) is irrelevant to me. What IS relevant to me is the complete lack of appreciation for any game before Final Fantasy VII, as well as quite a few after. Hell, even Final Fantasy X only has four characters.
I mean this in no way to make offense to members of Ultimus Fantaji, they're simply my thoughts. So, back on the topic of whether or not I will stay--I really couldn't tell you. I have until 8 PM EST tomorrow to decide, yes? Well, unfortunately, I'm in school and have to deal with that, as well as the fact that I have a busy weekend. So, with that in mind, even if I do promise activity, it won't come about until Sunday at the earliest, if not Monday.
So, keeping that in mind, I think that it's safe to say that I've officially lost my Golbez muse. Will it come back some day? I have absolutely no idea, but if it does, I can't imagine that it will be anytime soon. Unless I can come up with another muse within the next (approximately) twenty hours, I guess you can consider this my official resignation from Ultimus--for the time being, anyway.
My apologies to anyone this may upset.
"Where have I been...?" he said, waking up in the middle of a large desert, alone. Though it was the middle of the night, the tan sand was all around him, spanning for miles. Many stars were visible in the sky above--a sign that there was no light pollution, thus no nearby civilization. He cursed under his breath and stood up, expecting to be freezing in the desert night. However, that was not the case. Perfectly comfortable aside from some sand in his clothes, he began to run in a straight line towards whatever destination was waiting for him.
Hours passed and eventually, though the landscape had drastically changed to a grassy field, he collapsed. Looking up, beginning to pass out from dehydration, he saw a large castle in the distance, surrounded by a city.
"Baron... I almost made it..."
"I have been away for quite a long time. How have all of you been in my absence? Well, I trust?"

Golbez smiled, scanning over the letter. Though it wasn't necessarily long, it gave him a sense of happiness and excitement. He neatly folded the letter away, cleared his throat, and went off to see if the rest of his family would be there as well.
Sin Fall ; Baron Castle.
Tidus nodded to Rosa, as she wandered off to find more people to help. In all truth, Tidus actually was a bit hungry. He couldnât help himself from feeling absolutely confused. Nothing here made sense. If Baron was such a⊠big place, why hadnât he heard of it?
He huffed somewhat, then rubbed the back of his head. âI ahâŠâ he was going to say yes, but the tease made him fluster up a bit. Had he said yes, heâd feel like a complete fool. Though, following this.. Golbez would probably be the safest bet.
âYes, please!â He said following him; his hands rested comfortably behind his head.
For some reason, Tidus had a feeling that wasnât the last heâd seen of that giant meat monster.
His smile faded away and a dumbstruck look came across his face. Of course he didnât expect Tidus to say yes, he seemed like a healthy young boy! âI⊠uhâŠâ he began, stopping in his tracks, âYou sure you need help? I mean, itâs not too long a walk.â Not wanting to offend, Golbez chuckled and began to walk again, waving his arm to signal Tidus to follow him. âJust come with me, alright?â he said, scratching the back of his head as he stretched with his other arm, âIâll get you to Baron Castle and make sure you get plenty of rest and food.â
As he took a few more steps, his expression grew grave. Had he already forgotten about the monster that had just attacked his home? It⊠it just seemed to unreal. He stopped dead in his tracks and looked back at Tidus, a scowl on his face.
âListen to me, Tidus,â he said gravely, âIf you see that thing again, no matter what the circumstances, even if it is faintly in the distance, completely unrecognizable, tell me. Immediately. Do you understand?â
Though, he was half joking, he still wanted to at least be escorted to the castle..or where ever it was this Golbez would be taking him. He chuckled, rubbing the back of his head, feeling a little bit silly, after seeing the elder male did not, in deed, get the joke. âR-right!â He nodded his head, and began to follow after him.
However, he stopped quickly in his tracks. Those bright blue eyes batting a few times in confusion. âWhaâ?â The scowl on Golbezâs face made it obvious â he was not one to be trifled with. Though, Tidus had no reason to really be scared. It wasnât like he was lying to him about the entire situation.
He really did have no idea what that monster was, at all.
Or, well, so he thought.
âYeaâ I understand!â He rubbed the side of his face. He did understand the severity of the situation. If a giant⊠thing like that attacked where he lived, he would be in more of a frenzy than Golbez even seemed to be in. âIâll let you know if I see that⊠monster again!â He nodded; a semi-serious expression on his face.
"Good," he said, nodding with a half smile, "Good. Keep behind me and we'll be at Baron Castle very shortly. There you can rest and regain your strength, should that beast return." Golbez began to walk again, not even looking back at Tidus to make sure he was there. Finally, after a rather uneventful journey back towards the castle, they were in Baron. The streets were bustling and words were audibly being exchanged from all directions.
"Did you hear that we were attacked?" some said, "I hear it was some kind of whale-like creature. It seems dangerous. I know they fought it off for now, but... how safe are we, really?"
Panic filled the normally-peaceful streets. Everything was filled with tension--a breaking point had to be reached soon. On one far end of a street, two men accidentally bumped into each other, and an impulsive fear lead one to strike the other. Just as the other prepared to return the favor, the skies opened and rain poured heavily, drenching everyone.
Startled screams filled the air and citizens ran into their homes, leaving the streets empty aside from Golbez, Tidus, and a few random people here and there that clearly didn't mind the rain. Sighing, Golbez began to walk again, signalling for Tidus to follow.
"This is what unrest looks like, Tidus," he began, the rain drenching him from head to toe, "This is what fear does to peaceful folk. That's why we have to be sure that whatever that thing is doesn't harm anyone anymore."
[Ceodore]
Golbez walked through Baron Castle towards his nephewâs room with a smile on his face. The sun shone brightly in the sky and, though it was the early afternoon, the birds chirped high in the sky, providing an ambient background to the entirely peaceful day. He reached Ceodoreâs door and knocked, waiting for an answer.
âCeodore!â he said as he waited for his nephew to answer, âI was wondering if youâd like to spend the day together! Well, what do you say?â
Ceodore groaned in his room, he had an nightmare several minutes ago and his body was not too pleased with him. But he calmed himself down and smiled at the idea of getting out again.
âOh-!!!! Okay! Iâm almost ready!!!â he came out with his scarf somewhat on, as he was wrapping it around his neck.
âDo you have a place in mind Uncle?â
As his nephew came bounding out of his room, already nearly ready, Golbez began to laugh quietly and pull his nephew in closely. Arm around Ceodore, hand placed on his shoulder, Golbez began to walk on, beaming.
âI donât know,â he said, shrugging slightly, âYou tell me. Perhaps youâd like to go for a walk to begin with? Itâs a beautiful day! Maybe we could go see those rabbits you like so much up north, too! Whatever youâd like!â
Upon the word ârabbitsâ, Ceodore perked up immediately and grabbed hold of his Uncle, beaming as he hopped about.
âRABBITS!!!!! I HAVE TO SHOW YOU THEM!!! COME ON UNCLE!!!! WE GOTTA SEE THE-!â he was interrupted by his stomach, as it growled in protest, âafter we eatâŠâ
As Ceodore jumped around excitedly, Golbez smiled and laughed, though a somewhat startled shock covered his face as Ceodore's stomach growled audibly. Shortly after, his own began to make noises of discontent.
"Come to think of it," he said, scratching the side of his head, "I have yet to eat today..." He sighed a bit, looking back to Ceodore. "Very well! What would you like? Where would you want to go?"

UP AND AT EM LOOLOLOL
Quit deceiving them Tidus you sadistic fucker. GET OUT.
Danny woke up in the morning, the sun shining brightly on his face through the window and the birds chirping soothingly outside. He yawned and sat up, rubbing his eyes, immediately stretching his arms afterwards. Completing the much-needed stretch, Danny looked to his right side to see a large lump next to him, easily much larger than himself. A confused expression covering his face, he lifted up the blanket only to reveal that Golbez had been laying next to him they entire time.
He screamed, shocked. "GOLBEZ?!" he yelled, "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?"
Golbez woke up in a ritual similar to Danny's, stretching and yawning, before looking over at Danny. "Oh, I... um..." Golbez's voice trailed off, clearly not sure of what to say.
"Look!" Danny said, his heart pounding with fury, "I understand that our date the other night was beautiful, but get the fuck out of my room!"
A hurt look crawled across Golbez's face as he stood up and began to leave. Just before opening the door, Golbez looked back at Danny pleadingly. A look of unmatched sadness covered the entirety of his face. It was clear that Golbez wouldn't recover from this any time soon.
"Listen..." Danny said, now calm and collected, "I'll, uh... I'll call you, okay?"
((oh what a nice romance no go away Tidus/Sabin))
DATE HAHAA
I hate you so much right now you don't even know. I hate you.
Golbez and Danny exited the car after parking it neatly out front of the movie theater. They weren't seeing anything special--just a cheesy horror movie that everyone had been talking about. No, what was important was that this was their first date, and Danny would be damned if it wasn't special. Of course he wanted it to be! Golbez was his hero, he wrote about Golbez on the internet all the time! Danny could tell Golbez was excited, too.
Opening the door for his date, Danny lead Golbez to the movie theater with a huge grin on his face. Though Golbez seemed to be pretty shy, Danny tried his best to make the gentle giant feel comfortable.
After buying their tickets, the two sat down in the theater and watched the movie. A few jump scares here and there sent Golbez flying into Danny's arms. Danny, who watched bad horror movies like that frequently, could deal with it a lot better.
By the end of the night, Golbez seemed impressed with how well he handled all of the jump scares, and when they exited the theater and walked back towards the car, Golbez smiled and blushed. Danny, not wanting to overstep his boundaries, gave Golbez a tight hug and drove him home, smiling at what the future might hold.
