Jackson nursed his glass of wine while he watched Yugyeom flirt mercilessly with his “date.” He knew he wasn’t supposed to be drinking on the job, but he felt that he’d earned it. This was his client’s third date that week, each one a different girl, and it was only Tuesday. He stalked his watch, just hoping that it would end soon.
He lifted the glass to his lips and took a long drink in an attempt to ease his discomfort. It did nothing to drown out the troubles of the rest of the night. He bit his lip and looked at his now empty glass and contemplated getting a refill. His boss, Kim Yugyeom’s father, was out of town and Jackson wasn’t the one burdened with the responsibility of driving them home tonight. Another drink wouldn’t make much of a difference.
Jackson had been his bodyguard for the past three months. During his tenure at his new job, Jackson has noticed quite a few things about his client. For one thing, Kim Yugyeom was a flirt. He never missed an opportunity to tease Jackson with his latest conquests, and though Jackson assumed there was nothing serious behind those taunts, Yugyeom took great pleasure in Jackson’s fulfillments of his requests. Yugyeom’s need for Jackson’s presence seemed progressively stronger. However, the more he Yugyeom wanted him around, the more he seemed to push Jackson away.
Before Jackson could order another glass, he sees Yugyeom walking towards him. Jackson stands and tries to hide the annoyance written across his face.
“Would you like for me to call for the driver?” Jackson asked in his most professional tone, a tone he’d been using for weeks to conceal his inner vexation toward his employer.
“I already texted him,” Yugyeom said with a sly grin. “I hope you don’t mind catching a bus. I mean, you’re probably used to it right?”
“I’ve been told to accompany you at all times while your father is away,” Jackson sighed. “He’s not home, so I will be there as well,” Jackson stated, his professionalism slipping just slightly as he tried not to get annoyed. He knew Yugyeom all too well by now. This was a test, more than a test, even. It was a way to try to get under his skin, but the state of Jackson’s job relied on him to be strong enough to ignore it.
Yugyeom chuckled a bit as he leaned in close to Jackson’s ear. “Good,” he purred seductively, a cheeky smirk playing on his lips. “Maybe you can watch? Join? It’s your call, really. Maybe.. you can do what you’ve already been doing. Listening like a good boy, right? I might even let you touch yourself a bit,” he finished the thought with a sinister chuckle, flicking his tongue out to graze the outer shell of Jackson’s ear.
Jackson took an immediate step back, looking Yugyeom dead in the eyes. “I’m not interested in the games you play with your little-” he glanced at the girl standing by the table, “pets,” Jackson said through gritted teeth.
Yugyeom grinned and strolled towards the restaurant’s exit. “Come on now, jagi. Our ride is here,” he said looking back at Jackson, the same playful smile stretched across his face. Yugyeom’s date giggled and held onto Yugyeom’s arm as they walked out. Jackson stared at the empty glass on his table, just wishing he had time for a refill. He set 20 bucks on the table and walked out to follow the pair.
