It was too late/early in the night to try to sleep after patroling with Nightwing on the insane schedule the bats have. Gar had figured he wouldn't be getting sleep that night, and it's not like this was his first (or last) time pulling an allnighter but now was starving. He saw that a cafe nearby was open and might have some vegetarian options for him so he walked in giving the guy behind the counter small wave.

The guy behind the counter waved back, a faint smile haunted their face.

"Good evening, what may your order be?"

It wasn't that they looked weird. They looked kinda nice, but something didn't feel right about this guy.

"Aether" was wroten in their apron.

Despite the late hour, Aether seemed quite at ease. Even comfortable as if they were in their element.

"sup dude so i first wanna ask if you have any vegetarian food options?"

he was ready to be disappointed and turn around to walk back out, but he still held on to hope. hes just used to gotham restaurants lying on their forums saying there is so they can get more buisness

Aether came back with black bean burgers with homemade vegetarian bread and potatoes on the side.

"I hope it's of your liking, we normally made these ourselves" they said before placing the food in front of him.

"Would you like lemonade or any other drink?"

"oh sick this looks awesome thank you!" he took a bite of the burger and gave a thumbs up making sure to swallow the bite "oh yeah do you have like a caffeine drink thats not coffee?"

Aether murmured something before hanging up, putting a pot with water and some black tea on the stove.

Gar laughed a little at that it was pretty sick to have ghostbusters as your theme. he took his own phone out and messaged someone then finished his food. he was more hungry than he realized

"Oleander, as interesting your theory could be, I am not willing to go to Gotham harbor to see if a villain is going to attack this cursed city. The bats exist for a reason" Aether talked to their friend as they poured the tea in the glass and took a long spoon and some sugar to deliver it to the table.

They gently left the drink before stepping back to the kitchen.

The room felt slightly colder, the lights flickered for a moment.

Aether sighed before just listening to their friend in the phone.
