Just your daily reminder that Matt Murdock is kind of a badass

THE COLLISION BROUGHT a lot of strange people to gotham, but this one seemed to be gunning for first place in selina’s eyes. this one was dressed as a…RED DEVIL? she wasn’t quite sure if he was supposed to be one of the BAD or the GOOD guys. she’s more than a little frustrated that the guy the devil’s beating has information for her but the cat was curious as to what he would do next. by the time he’s done with her man, she’s dying to get an exclusive with THE DEVIL. she places her hands in the air as if she surrender for arrest before moving out of her shadowed corner. “hate to be a drag, mr. devil, but i needed something from that man and now you’ve gone and scared him offf. i hope you’re willing to repay his debt.” she leans forward a bit and lowers her voice to a whisper, “you know gotham’s known for it’s bats, right? not really sure where a DEVIL fits in there.”
Matt’s eyebrows raised a bit behind his mask at the woman’s words. “Oh yeah?” What kind of “something” did you need from him?” He asked, crossing his arms over his chest. “I’m not going to agree to repaying any kind of “debt” without knowing what it is that was so important that you needed it from him first” Truthfully this woman was hard for Matt to get a read on, although from what he could tell, it wasn’t particularly surprising; it seemed like she’d been doing this for awhile now. Nonetheless, it was a bit frustrating that he couldn’t really tell whether she had good or bad intentions; something he could usually pick up almost immediately based on heart rate and tone of voice. At her comment about bats in Gotham, Matt couldn’t help but chuckle a bit, giving a small shrug of his shoulders. “Yeah well I’m not from Gotham. I’m from Hell’s Kitchen in New York City. Hence, The Devil” He said with a nod and a small smirk. “But I have to say, I don’t think there’s ever been a city more befitting of The Devil than Gotham. This may be The Bat’s city, but I think I fit in here just fine”

elektra had been travelling with the hand – not to her consent of course, well it was but she wasn’t quite [ herself. ] ever since the hand had took her in, done their rituals - she felt different,NEW in a way that she couldn’t quite explain. she’d given right into the hand, became their L E A D E R ;; THE BLACK SKY as she had so pushed away from times before. although her sudden change in demeanor, she just couldn’t push her right mind of one thing. that thing being matthew murdock. a pretentious looking smirk had taken the girl’s lips as she watched over the red leathered male. elektra had gotten word that he was looking for her assassins, she figured what this was - just another pitstop to try and get information on where the group had been hiding out. what better way to put an end to this then giving him a visit herself?? she thought before taking it up with a few other members. the female had been placed in her own outfit - black cloth hanging tightly against her tanned skin. blood red handkerchief covering up the skin right under her nose and down to her chest. brown eyes followed the fearful criminal as he ran off into the night. elektra pushed off the brick wall she’d currently been observing from a little flair attached to her walk. “ hello, matthew. ”
For a moment he tried hard not to let himself believe what he had just heard. After all, Elektra was dead, so there was no way that she could be here now. And yet, even as he tried to convince himself that this had to be some kind of trick, some sort of trap, Matt couldn’t shake the feeling that this was really happening. The problem with heightened sense was, even when you knew you shouldn’t let yourself believe something, there was no hiding from the truth. As hard as it was to accept, as much as it completely went against everything he had ever known about the world, Elektra was here. There was no doubt something different about her though. Something had changed, because he had not been able to identify her until he had heard her speak. Her scent, the sound of her heartbeat, everything about her was different from the way he had known her. For a long time, Matt was silent as he tried to grasp the fact that the love of his life, the dead love of his life, had come back to him. “How-How long have you...been alive?” He asked finally, his voice soft though his body was rigid, his instincts insisting that he be on the ready just in case. After all, this may have been Elektra , but there was definitely something different about her, which very well might mean that she wasn’t the same Elektra he had known. Especially if The Hand had somehow been involved in this mysterious resurrection as Matt suspected they might be.

jerome wandered into an alley, in which he found another so-called GOOD GUY saving the day and beating on a BAD GUY. at least, that’s what he could infer from the use of words like never hurt anyone, stop their sins, etc. pretty BORING if you’d ask jerome. what was so bad about being “BAD” anyway? evil was just a point of view right?
the ginger clapped his hands together, taking big, long steps to the other with much confidence. he wasn’t intimidated; he LOVED a good fight. his infamous grin appeared on his face before he began to speak. “IMPRESSIVE! i think ya’ just worked WONDERS on that guy! even though it’s a lil’ dark outside, i SWEAR i saw the fear in his eyes! HA!” jerome congratulated before continuing. “but if i were you, there’d be just a FEW things i’d change.”
There was something dangerous in the male’s tone, something off putting and unsettling, and it made the hair on the back of Matt’s neck stand up. He wasn’t intimidated, and he definitely wasn’t afraid; he hadn’t gotten the moniker The Man Without Fear for nothing after all. But he was going to pay as much attention to the male’s bodily signs as he could, paying especially close attention for any changes in his heart beat to indicate an oncoming attack.
“Oh yeah? And just what would those be?” Matt asked, careful to keep his tone even and free of hostility; after all this was just a kid, and if this didn’t have to turn into a fight, then he didn’t want it to. “Look, you really shouldn’t be in this neighborhood at this time of night kid. it’s a dangerous place. Why don’t you head on home?” He added, hoping to use reason to convince this boy from doing something regrettable.

Having spotted the very man himself on a nearby rooftop, dressed to the nines, new thermal vision upgrades in his cowl and everything, Bruce made his way over as quickly as he could, not wanting the man to run. He had however, heard enough about the man to know that Daredevil himself would probably be already expecting him by the time he reached him. “It’s funny, myself and Miss Jones were talking about you only the other day.”
Of course Matt had heard the man approaching, but there was no desire in him to flee. He couldn’t be sure until the man got a bit closer, but Matt had a strong suspicion that his visitor was a man he had been wanting to meet since shortly after he had first arrived in Gotham. Sure enough, his suspicions were confirmed once the man was only a rooftop away from him, when he was close enough for Matt to use his other senses beyond his sense of hearing to paint a clearer picture in his head, leaving no doubt in his mind that this was in fact The legendary Batman himself. When The Bat finally reached the rooftop and spoke to him, Matt smirked a bit at his words. He wasn’t really surprised that Jessica Jones had been talking about him; after all the two of them were from the same place, though oddly, had never actually had a run in with each other before. Still, that wasn’t particularly relevant to the conversation he was presently having; there were more important things to worry about and consider. “Oh yeah? You know what else is funny? You can’t go anywhere in this city without hearing someone mentioning you” Matt replied with a small chuckle. “I’ve heard it from a lot of the thugs that you and I have a similar style. They say I remind them of you. Which is kind of why I’ve been wondering for awhile when our paths would cross. I knew it was only a matter of when, and not if. I mean, I could have sought you out, but from what I hear about how you operate, I didn’t think that would be the best way to go about things. I also figured it wasn’t really necessary, because I knew you would probably seek me out before long anyway” Matt paused briefly as he nodded his head, before he reached his hand out in offering. “I’m Daredevil. But if everything I’ve heard about you is true, than you probably already knew that, and a whole lot more”
jssicajvnes:
“I swear the next person who runs into me is getting a broken jaw.”
“Uh yeah, sorry. Guess that was my bad. I should have been more careful; paid more attention. But please don’t break my jaw. Then my smile will be all crooked, and it will be harder to charm people, and I’ll lose clients, and the whole thing will just turn into a big mess”
When Matt had first come to Gotham after the dimensional crash, it had only been in pursuit of The Hand, who had fled there almost immediately after the event. He’d had every intention of returning to Hell’s Kitchen once he was done with dealing with the shadowy organization of ninjas, but it had only taken a short amount of time being in Gotham for him to realize that wasn’t going to happen. Hell’s Kitchen had it’s problems, but thanks to his work as Daredevil over the last year, the people there were in no immediate danger. But Gotham, even with all of it’s heroes, was still an extremely dangerous place, which meant it was where Matt felt he was most needed, and that it was where he would stay until that was no longer true.
It had been a busy night for The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, now The Devil of Gotham. He had been in search of The Hand, but so far, had not had any luck in finding them. However in his search, he had prevented several crimes from being done by common criminals, including the mugger he had just laid out, who he now held tight against a brick wall. “Listen to me very carefully, you’re not going to hurt anyone ever again. That’s not a request, it is a demand, and trust that if you choose not to obey it, I will know, and I will come for you, and the beating that I just gave you will be nothing compared to the one you’ll get next time. Now, what you are going to do, is you’re going to go around to all of your criminal friends, and you’re going to tell them that The Devil has arrived in Gotham, and if they know what’s good for them, they’ll stop with their sins, because if they don’t, The Devil will come for them.” He paused for a moment to listen to the heartbeat and breathing of a lingering presence nearby that he surprisingly, hadn’t heard approach, before he continued. “Do you understand everything I just told you?” He concluded, waiting for the thug to nod, before he released him from his grip. Now turning to the lingerer, Matt was silent as he waited for them to say something about what they wanted, or why they were here.
