the thing about oatmeal is it CAN be really good but it can also be REALLY bad. i rlly dont like instant oatmeal, or oatmeal thats cooked too much or too mushy, but when its rolled oats or steelcut oats cooked just enough but still have like an "al dente" texture (if you will)? especially with like a LOT of butter........ buttery oats my beloved. i just dont like mush and i dont like the way it gets sticky when its mushy etc.

a decent amount of people DO seem to like it that way so this is all just my opinion but i do not understand why anyone likes gloop-style oatmeal. and chia seeds will DEFINITELY not help with a gloopy sticky texture.

basically, i like oats when theyre actually treated like a grain (like rice or smth) and are still pretty much holding their shape as opposed to Oat Gruel Slime (when the oats break down they release their sugars and starches and thats why that happens).

if you made it this far thank you for reading my treatise on/defense of the humble oat and its frequent mistreatment.

truly obsessed with the passion for oats

the kind i had was instant oatmeal so i knew it wasnt going to be the best :p but even through the sloppy mush of texture i could see the vision. i can tell i would very much enjoy it if it just wasnt such a goop.

i just got a little cup of the instant type to see if i would like it before going all in and buying a big thing of oats ! but i think i need to invest to get the true experience ! thank u for the insight !!!!!!!
