Miss Leslie, perhaps you can help me
I'm currently working on a mission with two very incredible women. They're unbelievably intelligent but I cannot seem to get through to one of them.
Whatever compliments I give her seem to be misconstrued and I fear the problems this are throwing up could derail our entire mission.
Do you have any advice for me?
- O. G
Look, I know you think that you mean well with the compliments, but the truth is that they're just going to annoy us because it comes off as harassment. God, the amount of times I've been whistled or snapped at for a cup of tea would astonish you or the amount of times I've been called 'pretty' just to try and get me to do something.
Treat these women like your equals because that's what we are. Treat them like you would your fellow men and maybe let them take the lead more often. I can see that you're trying your best, and I can tell you that you're doing a hell of a lot better than the majority of the others.
How does it feel to singlehandedly be one of the best women ever?
Fucking brilliant – Sorry Hester, but it was a very fitting adjective
(And thank you, I'm very flattered 💕)
Do you have any advice for girls in MI5? My boss likes to use the wrong rank to address me and short of hitting him with a telephone I don't know what to do. Other than that he's alright but some of the other blokes don't think I should be here, even though I'm a WRNS officer and have been seconded here temporarily, just because I'm a girl
My advice for girls in MI5 would be to keep going. I know that I, too, have been very close to smacking my boss over the head, but alas, that isn't appropriate workplace behaviour. Don't be afraid to subtly take his ego down a peg or two in conversation. And stuff those other blokes, men never EVER know what they're talking about. They're alway too big headed to come up with anything that's actually useful, I try to take as little notice as possible.
You've got this!
How does it feel being the 2nd most annoying person in mi5?
it feels wonderful. i adore being annoying.
who, may i ask, is the most annoying? i'd like to be better than them.
If anything, I'd say you are the most annoying, but each to their own x
Intro Post ✨
Hello! Since the others have decided to join Tumblr, I thought I'd give it a try. So...
My name is Jean Leslie, and contrary to popular belief, my job title is not Tea Girl. I'll be here to answer any burning questions you might have for me (and to keep certain people in check, Hester's orders).
[OOC: Hi everyone! I haven't done an ask page in YEARS and thought Jean might be a fun one. Please do ask away, nothing is off limits - unless it's obviously inappropriate.]
