Week 2: Update #2 — Robyn

Robyn walked along the shore of the beach back in Jacksonville. The sun was setting and her hair blew peacefully in the wind, no one in sight but her and the seagulls scavenging for food. She took a seat in the sand, and watched as the sun’s rays warmed her body for the last time before the moon took its place in the night’s sky. Her eyes slowly closed and she found herself feeling free floating in a sense then she heard it. A splash of the water, a giggle, and more splashes so she opened her eyes. She could of sworn no one was there before.

Standing before her in the water was a pair, Laurent and a little girl. Wild curls bouncing as she dipped and dodged Lau. When Lau stopped to look at her, he smiled at her and made his way to her slowly, reaching out his hands.

“Come here Robyn,” Lau gripped her hand and pulled but she didn’t move.

“No, I wanna watch the sun set.” Lau gave in and sat behind her, watching the little girl run around, humming in her ear and kissing the back of her neck.

“You know, you the prettiest woman I ever see? I’m glad you my wife Rob.” With that last phrase she looked down at her ring finger, a wedding band and engagement ring glistening on her finger, then the little girl ran up and she saw it, it had to be her daughter. She was a spitting image of herself, along with the features of Lau. His complexion, stunning hazel eyes that came somewhere from his family, and a head full of curly hair. Now that could have come from anyone of them. But the shape of her eyes, typical Genwright nose that ran in her family and those lips were the doing of no other than Robyn. “The second prettiest, my baby girl.” He whispered.

“Merci daddy.” The baby could have been no more than 3 or 4 at the latest. “Daddy, why is mommy so quiet? She’s looking at me funny too.”

“Lauryn you ask mommy, I don’t know.” He chuckled and nudged Robyn out of her weird entrapment of her mind.

“Awe, baby girl, I’, quiet cause I’m just mesmerized by your beauty. Come here.” Robyn held her hand out and pulled her baby into her lap places butterfly kisses on her cheeks making the little girl giggle.

“Robyn.” A random voice called out.

“Robyn, pay attention. It’s time to clock out.” Her work friend was bumping into her as she passed down the hallway. “You okay girl? You were mighty quiet for a few minutes."

“Girl I just I just zoned out for a bit. Just daydreaming.” She brushed off as she typed in her employee number in the computer to clock herself out for the day. A long day of finals, then work and knowing Laurent was leaving the next day was taking a toll on her mind.

“You had a huge smile plastered on that face. You were daydreaming about Lau weren’t you?” Megan knew her too well. She’d been on a few dates with the couple with her husband. “You know you two need to go ahead and get married and have some kids. Stop trying to put it off.”

“You know, I’m finally starting to agree with you, but I don’t wanna put my career on hold.” They walked out of the clinic at the university together. “I mean he understands and it’s not like we don’t have sex on a regular basis when he’s in town, but this is really important to me.”

“Girl, you have AMAZING grades and you’ve been working here since last year, I’m sure they’ll be excited to accept you into their medical school here. But, it’s nothing wrong with wanting to have a family either. Me and Robert did the same thing, sometimes family when you have it is more important than a career.” Megan got in her car and drove off with a toot of her horn and wave.

Robyn was in a comfortable ball wrapped in Lau’s arms. Megan’s words repeating over and over.

“Baby?” Robyn turned her head and looked at Laurent, his eyes falling on hers as a smile played on his lips.

“Oui Robyn?” He played with the curls in her hair she had pulled back in a bun.

“Do you want a family? Like with me, maybe a little rugrat somewhere in the picture.”

“Lex is enough, Alex call me every day. You know he get so big, He grow and be tall like Alex and Larry. It has to happen.” He chuckled.

“So you don’t want a family of your own?” Her voice fell into disappointment as she turned her head back towards the TV in her studio apartment.

“I no want a family if you don’t. I know how badly you want to be doctor and help kids that were like you. I want a baby, but I want my girl happy. I live my dream and achieve it, I want you to too.” His fingers intertwined with Robyn’s and she smiled, relieved and happy with his response. They both wanted it but there was no rush.

“Well you know, there’s still nothing wrong with a little practice

still right?” the naughty smile that Lau hit her with was enough for her to rip her clothes off right there.

“I leave tomorrow morning, you thinking what I thinking?” They both perked up on the couch.

“I still need a few dance lessons, you willing to give me a lesson tonight?”

Week 2: Update #2 — Laurent

Laurent looked at his girlfriend with adoration as she lay sleeping soundly next to him in their bed. Her soft brown curly hair spilled along her back and shoulders, some of the ends tickling his nose as he snuggled in close behind her, wrapping his arm protectively around her waist. The mid-morning sun leaked in through the gaps of the closed blinds, ignored altogether by the sleepy couple still in bed. Saturday mornings were meant for sleeping in, and neither of the pair was interested in changing that fact. The addition that this morning was a chilly central Florida morning made the desire to sleep in even stronger. Robyn’s long eyelashes fluttered against her cheekbones lightly in response to his movements, but she did not wake. She made no motions other than the soft rise and fall of her chest as she breathed in and out with the slow and heavy pace of one asleep. Lau brushed her hair out of the way and kissed her bare shoulder gently before resting his head on it, more than willing to lay next to her for a little while longer.

Slowly, his eyes wandered around the room. He'd gone to bed early the night before, and was not sleepy now, although he didn't want to get up, either. He was content to let his mind wander and to watch Robyn sleep. He thought she was even more beautiful when she slept; her features would relax and, often, a hint of a smile would be playing at her lips. He nuzzled his nose into her neck and remembered the first time he'd seen her smile. That day, almost four years, was always remembered by him. Because the when she smiled, he saw the beauty in her that he knew she didn’t see for herself.

Laurent smiled to himself when he thought of how foreshadowing that joke was, and tightened his grip around her sleeping form. He looked over at her again and kissed the corner of her mouth, laughing softly as her lips twitched in reflex response.

He snuggled in and listened to the ever-playing radio, now on some country station she’d tuned it to sometime last night. That was one thing that he never understood about her. Ever since she moved to this town her college was situated in. Her taste in country music had grown too much for his hip hop and jazz liking. He listened to the music, too comfortable to get up and change the station and then found the remote to her clock, switching it to iPod mode and switching through songs on her iPod. A Chris Brown crooned out lyrics, "Anything she want, she can get it cause my girl she be with it, and I want her for the rest of my life. I love to hear her say that she loves me and I love it when she tells me she needs me. When she looks in my eyes, I feel like I’m high …” His voice trailed off as he realized how stupid he probably sounded, but he couldn't help singing the chorus quietly to her. His low voice murmured into her ear and abruptly stopped when she stirred. He cringed, and waited to see if she was awake or not. Robyn sighed softly and picked his arm up off of her. Obviously awake, she turned around to face him and draped his arm back over herself.

"Hey." She purred sleepily and nuzzled his cheek, her eyes refusing to open.

"Hey yourself." He kissed her nose and tightened his grip around her.

"Have I ever told you that you have a beautiful singing voice?"

"Mmm... nope. Don't think so." He blushed. In all the years and months they’d been dating, he’s never dared open his mouth to sing to her.

She yawned, "Well you do... please don't stop..." Her eyelashes tickled his collarbone as she nestled her head under his chin and wrapped an arm around him, eyes still closed.

Laurent lifted up his arm and brushed a lock of hair away from her face. "So you no mind if I blow your eardrums out?"

"Mmm... shut up." She smiled against his chest and squeezed him against her a little. "Go on. Sing, please?" The song switched and he found himself humming to the tune of Brian McKnight’s ‘Back At One’.

Laurent felt himself blush a bit as he sang with the song, "It’s undeniable that we should be together and unbelievable how I used to say that I’d fall never. The basis you need to know if you don’t know just how I feel. Then lemme show you now that I’m foreal …" He stroked her back and within a few seconds she had dropped off to sleep again, her leg hooked around him and her naked chest pressed against his.

He thought back to the first time he ever saw her. The night he was visiting her mother on business with his brother and manager. She came down, hair in a messy display of curls that fell into her face, hiding her eyes and bouncing with every movement she made. He and his brother shared a glance, it was mutual between them, the second a girl was ever introduced, they gave a glance to see who was she gonna prefer. More so than often, Larry won that one. But something was different about Robyn. She wasn’t throwing herself at either twin, in fact she wasn’t even pay them any attention. She spoke when spoken to, extremely quiet.

She wasn’t the prettiest girl Lau’d ever been with; she was more Larry’s type. Naturally cute, not a lot of make-up, no fake lips or body, just natural so he figured Larry would be working on that one more than him so he treated her like she treated him, rude. But then he realized it was something about her that was special, she was really sweet, broken on the inside, needing someone to show her she was beautiful. That first time they had sex it was like something he’d never experienced. He thought he’d been in love before and had sex with them and it was beautiful, but this time, it was different. It was more passionate, it was in the heat of the moment of course, but it was still something more behind every hungry kiss, every simple touch, every hot breath that hit each other’s body as they rode the waves of the physical pleasure of love.

“I love you.” He whispered into her ear as she slept next to him, his eyes closing gently as he re-lived that moment again in his dreams.

Week 2: Update #2 —Larry

“Lau, this is my child.” Larry’s voice was shaking uncontrollably as his son Larry Alexander Bourgeois wiggled in his arms. Alex lay in the bed tears flowing down her cheeks while the girls and Laurent stood at Larry’s side trying to get a peek at the little bundle of painful joy. “This my son guys. This my baby boy.” His tears were fighting free and all the girls hugged him tightly, the white gold wedding band shimmering in the setting sun outside of the hospital window.

“Yes Larry. He’s yours.” Lau added kissing his brother’s cheek. That wasn’t something normal between the boys. At least, it wasn’t normal for Larry to not spaz out and give Laurent the death glare. “My nephew look just like you. Let me hold him.” Lau asked reaching out for Little Larry.

“No, you drop him.” Larry fussed snatching away. The soft baby blue blanket nestled over the babies face and he made a little whiny noise.

“This come from the boy who no can sit still long enough to do work. Or the one who crawls on floors because he bored. Shut up and give me baby.”  The girls stood back and laughed at them arguing.

“Shut up Lau. My baby, I say you can’t hold him.” Larry stuck his tongue out and stepped away.

“Larry stop being little brat. He my family too!”

“Larry, give me the baby.” Cara finally could take no more of their bickering. “Look, everyone wants to hold him, so everyone gets a turn before the nurse comes and takes him back to the nursery.” Larry looked down at her, furrowed his brows, looked over at Alex knocked out, and finally at Cara again. “I will slap you Larry. Stop ruining this for everyone.” Her tone was motherly, the fact the twins were the oldest out of everyone and Cara still had the ability to scare him was saying something.

“Fine,” Larry handed the baby to Cara and sat down in the chair next to Alex. “Is It oki if I sleep. I’m tired.”

“Sure Lar, you need just as much rest as Alex.” Cara assured as she rocked the baby back and forth. “He’s so precious guys.”

“Awe, our nephew is adorable. Can I hold him now?” Jetayia walked up and played with the baby’s head full of curly brown hair. Cara handed the baby over to Jetayia and smiled down on him. “Hey Larry.” She cooed, the baby reached out his tiny hand and grabbed a braid in her hair making everyone sigh.

“I want my own baby Robyn.” Lau whispered to his girlfriend.

“Well we all know you two have been working on it already.” Cara turned around and looked over her shoulder.

“Oh my god, no we have not. I barely see Lau now that I’m in taking my harder pre-req’s to get in to the pre-Med program.” Robyn blushed. Larry suddenly blurted out in laughter causing everyone to turn and look at him giving Robyn a funky look.

“Too busy my ass. I hear Lau in his room on the phone with you sometime. I know my brother freaky but you, you nasty girl.” He slapped his knee and Robyn slipped off her slipper and threw it at his head.

“Oh haaaaaaaay Rob!” Jetayia sang. “You doin strange thangs for the change when it comes to your man. You go hunny bew bew.” She joked, finally giving Lau his nephew.

“Did y’all know I hate y’all?” Robyn stated rolling her eyes. “Y’all not about to give me too much. what can I say, I go hard for my man.” Lau leaned over and pecked her lips.

“And he get hard for his girl.” Larry added. Everyone just groaned and rolled their eyes.

“TOO MUCH INFORMATION LARRY! Jesus, why would you put those disturbing images in our minds?” Cara fussed popping the back of his head.

“Eh mon pote.” Lau pressed his lips to the baby’s forehead smiling as the baby struggled to open his eyes even though they wouldn’t open. “I’m glad you finally here, the family was ready to finally see you and now you here.” He played with his little button nose and the baby cooed and grabbed his finger. “Here I get you present, but daddy or mommy wear it because it’s too big.” Lau turned around and handed Larry a silver chain, a small Jordan shoe hanging from it. Larry smiled and took it off his brother’s hands pulling it around his neck. “You come into good family, lots of friend that already love you and you only here for hour. We love you Larry.”

“I love you too.” Larry stood up.

“Sweet moment ruined. Lord he meant the baby no yo foolish ass boy.” Robyn slapped his arm and pushed him away. “We need a nickname for him.”

“Yes, cause we all know Larry is too basic to know who Alex is talking to and Alex would be getting confused and frustrated when she's punishing Little Larry and Big Larry’s getting all mad and cursing in French. I can see it now. Yeah, we need a nickname.” Cara smiled.

“Hey, I am not basic!” Larry piped up slightly offended.

“Boy sit.” Jetayia fussed and he sat right back down. “How about Lex? It’s cute and simple.”

what does robyn look like :3

lol, i mean i never really described her in depth. i'll do it now lol.

she's a soft mocha brown complexion with tiny, little freckles/moles around her eyes, really tight curly hair that when it's straight stops just past her shoulders, a really bright smile with a small gap between her two front teeth, a full face with chubby cheeks, and almond shaped eyes that curve almost shut when she smiles or laughs with really shallow dimples.

i could never really find a picture that really captured her, but i hope this description helps a little more

Week 1: Update #1 — Cara

“Alex, calm the hell down! Have you called Larry?”

“YESSSSS! I called him, I told him my water broke and he’s still in Miami shooting for that movie thing with Lau.”

“Call Robyn, she’s closer, I’ll be down there as soon as possible, okay.”

“Mhmm.” Alex let out an ear shattering scream as her contractions came on stronger.

“Hurry, see if she can come pick you up and take you to the hospital, she’s in town still, right?”

“Yeah, she was just over here not too long ago.”

Cara fumbled through her emergency bag she packed for when Alex went into labor. It had been established that whenever that day came, all the girls would be there for her. There was an amount of emergency money set up in a separate account at her bank to keep her from being tempted to use it. When Alex clicked over and said Robyn would be on the way, she text her boyfriend Dirk and told him that she wouldn’t be home for a few weeks and that if he wanted, he could fly down and meet her in Atlanta with everyone else.

The last minute troubles with catching a flight were settled and she found herself on the earliest flight she could manage, where she’d take a cab to the hospital to meet Robyn. Jetayia was on her way as well, everyone was a little frantic now because no one was really there for Alex at the moment.

“I’m here with Harrison; she’s in labor right now.” Cara said out of breathe from running trying to find everyone.

“Go down to the maternity ward, they should be able to direct you.” The nicer older woman at the information desk ordered.

With a nod Cara raced down the hall and found that information desk, finally getting the information she needed. She was met with Robyn sitting in the waiting room waiting on her. “Hey, how’s everything going in there so far? How far along are the contractions?”

“They just told me about 10 to 15 minutes. But everything is looking good, her vitals, the baby’s, everything looks really good.”

“The boys?” Cara sat down, “Are they at least trying to get up here?”

“Yeah, Lau just called and said they were boarding their flight, it should take 2 or 3 hours tops, she’ll still be in labor then, they ain’t missin nothing. You wanna go in and see her? I’ll wait for Jetayia out here; she was on her flight when Alex called. Jetayia got them magical planning superpowers. How else would she know to catch a flight today, the day our favorite unborn baby comes out?”

“Okay, text me when Jetayia gets here.”

“I’ll just bring her back there. Alex wants all of us in there at one time. I told her that was bit much, but she wasn’t trying to hear it.” Robyn leaned back and rested her head on the armrest of the chair next to her.

Cara walked in on Alex watching some soap opera on television while she sipped on water. Alex had her hair wrapped up in a silk scarf, and her blondish bangs fell from under just a little. “It’s about that time.”

“I know, this little fucker needs to relieve his mama of this pain he’s putting me through.” Alex joked through gritting teeth; obviously a contraction was bothering her.

“Hey, don’t talk about my god son like that woman. He’s an angel from above.”

“Well this demon needs to hurry, this shit is painful and I know if Larry ugly ass don’t hurry and get his ass up here I will cut his damn legs off and see if he can dance then. Ain’t nobody got time for this bullshit, got me over here feeling like death itself. The fuck I let this nigga do this to me for anyway?!”

“Did they give you an epidural? Girl, you are not having it right now.” Cara joked, but when she saw the pain flashing in Alex’s eyes, she rushed to her side, “Grab my hand, it might help.”

Boy did Cara wish she never did that. She winced as tears filled her bright green eyes and Alex screamed in agony. “GET THIS LITTLE PARASITE OUT OF ME NOWWWWWWWWWWW!” Alex refrained from her yelling for a brief moment only to return again, “LARRY YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE GET YOUR ASS IN THIS DAMN ROOM. THIS IS ALL YOUR DAMN FAULT I HATE YOU!”

Week 1: Update #1 — Jetayia

Jetayia and the girls sat at the table with the rest of the wedding party. Of course everyone was sitting in their respective orders. Jetayia spotted familiar eyes out at one of the tables that was near the front of the dance floor, everyone was focused on the newlyweds sharing the first dance except one person. She blushed, her boyfriend of six months, Gaven was holding his gaze on her. Finally when the song finished and Larry and Alex cleared the floor while everyone else swamped it, she snuck off with him, she hadn’t introduced them to the girls or twins yet but she was ready to.

“Are you ready to meet them?” She asked holding his hand. He gave a small nod, his piercing green eyes with flecks of golden hues glanced around the room. “Okay, come on. I’m really excited for them to finally see you.”

“Who is this?!” Robyn cooed as soon as Jetayia returned to the table.

“Gaven Reyes.” He spoke up, holding out his hand and reaching for hers placing a kiss on the back of it.

Laurent’s eyes set on his; he didn’t like that at all. “And who are you?” Attitude showing in his facial expression.

“Oh Lau, cool it down. It was friendly kiss on Robyn’s hand jeez.” Cara came swooping in to add some relief. “I’m just gonna assume that you are the lovely boyfriend that Jetayia talks about all day and night.” With a wiggle of her eye brows Cara already knew she was dead on.

“Yeah that’s me. I know mainly everyone’s names but I don’t know who goes to what name except Laurent and Robyn.” He said eying them, it wasn’t in a rude way, besides, once Cara revealed the guy was dating Jetayia, just that quickly he warmed up.

“Well I’m Cara,” she gestured to herself and fluttered her eyelashes in a quirky way, “that is Waydi, Gianinni, Pom, and Diablo.” All the groomsmen waved politely, then like clockwork went back in on the food sitting on their plates. “You’ve met Robyn and Laurent already, and Alex and Larry disappeared somewhere. For Larry that’s normal, we can’t ever find that boy, but Alex, she’s so loud and clumsy, it’s not usually good when you can’t find her.”

“So y’all tryna take me out when I ain’t here huh? I see what kinda friends y’all is. Had you all up in my wedding looking fancy and you tryna drag me under the bus?” She pouted, “My feelings is hurt now.” Larry chuckled and wrapped his arms around her waist, resting his chin on her shoulder.

“Girl, now you know, a quiet missing Alex usually means either you somehow got lost, or you doing something illegal.” Jetayia giggled pushing Alex.

Gaven smiled, “Well I see you guys don’t mind strangers.”

“Who he?” Almost like twins themselves Alex and Larry eyed him, the same exact expression on their faces as they murmured their statement to everyone else.

“Do I even know you? How you get up all in my wedding?” Alex’s attitude began showing more.

“THAT’S HER BOYFRIEND!” The rest of the group droned, falling into laughter soon after when Alex’s face fell on the floor.

“See, black folk can’t even have nice shit at they wedding.” Robyn mumbled. “You can’t have nice things Alex.”

“Shut up, I do get nice things. I married him today.” Alex stated matter-of-factly.

“Yeah, you married him, but that don’t count!” Robyn blurted out. “When is Little Larry due, I wanna be there.”

“Well we all do Robyn.” Cara admitted rolling her eyes playfully, “You aren’t that special just cause you’re the Maid of Honor.”

“Well excusssseee me Dejanay. I was just sayin.”

“He’s due in February, before you two start wrestling in the middle of the dance floor.”

“Gaven, I think we should all have a couple’s day out. Tomorrow, the newlyweds,” Jetayia smiled at Larry and Alex holding hands tightly, “and the rest of us should just take time to hangout. It’s gonna become something we’ll have to start doing anyway.”

“Ohhh, I like that! It’s gonna be like ‘Why Did I Get Married’ but we’ll be happy and less dysfunctional.” Robyn squirmed in her seat.

“Oh yesss.” Laurent nodded, “That sound fun.”

“Thank you guys for being so friendly.” Gaven intervened.

“Oh please, you are now family in our circle of friends. We’ve all been through so much, and any loved one of Jetayia is a loved one of ours.” Cara explained. The group all pulled Gaven into a group hug, while Jetayia kissed his cheek.

Week 1: Update #1 — Robyn

“Laurent, no.” Robyn forced Lau off of her. His lips tracing along her collar bone that was revealed. Her sun kissed skin glowing brightly before him.

“Just quickie Robyn. It is oki, no one know.” He begged hungrily.

“Negro, no. Save it for after the damn wedding boy. This is a big day for your brother and my friend. I’m not having sex right now.” She kissed him back, he hit her with those sad puppy dog eyes. “No Laurent. Put those damn eyes up, you know you can’t win me over like that.” She smiled and pushed him off her. Laurent was in a three piece tux, a purple vest and tie under his black tuxedo jacket. His hair was twisted up and pulled back, same as Larry except Larry opted to let his hang down last minute.

“This be us one day, except we do it in Paris. You know where?” He held on to her hips tightly, his eyes focused on hers, despite the commotion of all the bride’s maids and groom’s men beginning to take their places to walk out.

“Lau, I gotta go get your brother and Alex, hurry up and get in line. I love you babe.” She rushed off back to the room with Larry and Alex in it.

She heard the muffled words of Alex saying something but Larry spoke up again before she had clean earshot of Alex, “Je vous aime trop Mrs. Bourgeois,” Robyn knocked on the door, it was time for Larry to take his walk. The music was cued up and they had less than 3 minutes to spare.

“It’s time for you to come out Larry. I got it from here.” She hated to interrupt the moment. There Larry was, holding Alex’s hand he seemed so relaxed, free. When he looked up and saw her standing there, his eyes flashed a friendly twinkle and he nodded slowly.

“Oki, Alex … belle, I love you. I see you soon.” He rushed out of the room.

“You ready girl?” She opened the bathroom door completely and saw Alex sitting back down on the toilet. “Lemme fix your hair back up and touch up this eyeliner you done cried all outta whack.” She knelt down and played with Alex’s face. “I’ll be out there waiting on you girl. You look amazing and Larry chose the right one, and I hope my godson in there comes out looking just as handsome and gorgeous as his mom and dad. I’m proud to see you here girly, cause lord knows we knew this day would come, just not with of all people Larry.” She kissed her cheek and led her out to the bedroom again, where Pat was waiting.

Robyn took her place behind Cara in the line of Bride’s Maids. First Alex’s younger cousin April walked in, then her best friend from home Erin, then Jetayia, Cara, and finally Robyn. The day was for Alex but with Lau’s words engraved in her head, and the fact he was standing at the altar, of course Larry the main one, it made her jittery. Laurent winked discreetly at her and Larry reached out to brush her hand, sensing her anxiety as well, hoping that it would calm her down. When the wedding song began and Alex’s baby cousin Nia walked the white carpeted aisle that was rolled out among the white beach sands of South Beach. 

Pat and Alex stepped the pace that was gone over at the dress rehearsal. When they reached the end of the aisle with the preacher and family, Pat gave his sister the biggest hug and handed her off to Larry; they faced each other and Pat took a seat next to his mother, in between Robyn’s mom Carolyn.

“I, Larry Nicolas Bourgeois, prends Alexandria Harrison, d'être mon épouse légitime, d'avoir une de tenir à partir de ce jour, pour le meilleur et pour le pire, pour les riches ou les pauvres, dans la maladie et la santé, à aimer et à chérir, 'Til Death nous faire part, je m'engage à celui-ci mon amour. (I, Larry Nicolas Bourgeois, take thee Alexandria Harrison, to be my wedded wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, 'til death do us part, thereto I pledge my love).” Robyn watched as Larry’s hand shook as he reached for the ring Blake held on the purple velvet pillow, “I give you this ring as a symbol of my vow. And with all that I am and all that I have, I honor you, in the Name of God.” Slowly Larry slipped the ring on Alex’s slender fingers, her tears cascading down her cheeks now as she smiled from ear to ear. She loved to hear him say his vows in French, even if she still hadn’t taken the time to fully learn the language.

“I, Alexandria Harrison, take thee Larry Nicolas Bourgeois, to be my wedded husband, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, 'til death do us part, thereto I pledge my love,” the ring was now passed on from Robyn to Alex, “I give you this ring as a symbol of my vow. And with all that I am and all that I have, I honor you, in the Name of God.” Alex put the ring on quickly and smiled up at Larry.

Tears were now streaming down everyone’s eyes except the pastor, “You may now kiss the bride.”

Week 1: Update #1 — Alex

The four friends were standing in the master bedroom of a beach house rented out specifically for the wedding. Alex’s nerves were bad and she was jumpy and sweating out her hair under her veil.

“It’s happening guys.” Alex stared at her reflection in the mirror. Her mom, niece, and cousin in the room as well, trying to coax her through her nervous energy. There was a sudden knock on the door and Alex almost fell clean out of seat in front of the vanity. “Robyn, could you get that?” Her eyes focused in on Robyn sitting on her bed texting none other than Lau who was only in the next room.

“Girl, sure thing.” Robyn’s hair was twisted in intricate designs that allowed them to show off another tattoo she’d gotten a few months before, it was an outline of the Eiffel Tower, although she’d cut Lau out of her life, she still cherished those memories. At first the girls were skeptical about it, thinking it was like she was trying to hold on to Lau in a discreet way, but when they saw how she moved on with life, dating again, working, the whole nine, they believed that her reasoning was what it was really for. The maid of honor, dressed in an elegant purple gown that had a sexy, yet classy split in the front sashayed her way to the peach painted door. “Who is it? It can’t be time for us to start walking; we got a good 15 minutes.” She whispered through the door.

“It’s Larry.” The room full of women panicked. “I just want to talk to Alex, please?” He sounded a little desperate, his voice shaking from nerves as well.

“You can’t though.”

“Please Robyn.” She could hear him rest his head on the door and her heart sank a little. Knowingly, she looked at Cara and Jetayia; already they were gathering Alex up and leading her into the bathroom so Larry could talk to her. Robyn opened the door when the coast was clear and Alex was out of sight. Cara, Jetayia, and Robyn took one look at his sad eyes and the rest of the ladies exited without any words. Robyn gave a short kiss on the cheek and brushed away his tears before shutting the door behind her.

Alex was standing by the toilet, looking out of the small window directly above it, already she could see the crowds of people. Some familiar faces of Larry’s family and friends, other celebrities the twins had built well enough relationships with and other not so familiar faces, along with her family and friends. Patrick sat in the front row, steadying the camera playing with his baby cousin Blake.

“Alexandria?” Larry’s voice fought through the wooden door hiding his love away from him. There was nothing in the world that annoyed her more than being called by her real name. But, it was Larry, he did a lot of things that annoyed her, but when it came from him, she knew it was something serious and she could only listen closely.

“Yes Larry?” Her heels clacked on the tiled floors.

“You nervous?” His voice was shaky, and made Alex want to cry harder than she was already tempted to.

“Yeah, a little bit. Little Larry isn’t helping much either if you wanna keep it really real.” She joked. The door creaked open and she dodged away from it, “LARRY WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK ARE YOU DOING? You can’t see me before the damn wedding.” She fussed, holding her chest now that her heart was beating faster than a speeding bullet.

“No worry, I just want to hold your hand. It make me feel better. It’s almost that time.” He said waving his hand inside the bathroom.

With a giggle, Alex reached for his hand, back on the door; eyes looking at the beach and the guests. “I love you Mr. Bourgeois.” She took a deep breath and exhaled the butterflies out.

“Je vous aime trop Mrs. Bourgeois.”

“Oh, say it again. That has a nice ring to it.”

“Je vous aime trop Mrs. Bourgeois,” there was a knock on the bedroom door.

“It’s time for you to come out Larry. I got it from here.” Alex could hear Robyn’s voice getting closer.

“Oki, Alex … belle, I love you. I see you soon.” Almost reluctantly, he let her hand go and rushed out of the room, Robyn materializing before her in the mirror.

“You ready girl?”

I have an idea. I'm gonna do little short stories on all the characters from GGTT. Just so you all can see how things are going for them. I'll post them every other week or once a month. It really depends, but more than likely I should post every other week. Monday-Sunday will be a different character. how does that sound ?
