No matter what happens, how much of a mess you are by the end of the day with nothing to good to offer, there is still something left of you for me to love. No matter what happens to you, there will always be room for me to love. Always.

Writers Write creates writing resources and shares writing tips. In this post, we share a complete glossary of terms for science fiction writers.
To write a good Science Fiction book, you need to know all the tropes in the genre and you need to come up with a great idea. But, you still need to include all the elements of a good book.
These elements include the following characters:
Protagonist
Antagonist
Love interest
Friend/Sidekick
As well as a plot, a setting, and story goals for your characters.
In particular, setting is even more important in the Science Fiction genre. It is what your core audience is really there for.

“I don’t suppose you have many friends. Neither do I. I don’t trust people who say they have a lot of friends. It’s a sure sign that they don’t really know anyone.” - Carlos Ruiz Zafón, The Shadow Of The Wind

Prompt #462
“People like you are the reason why aliens haven’t visited us yet.”
{Submitted by: allsugarbutnospice}
You’ve been a doormat all your life. You can’t help it, you just like seeing people happy, even if it is at the expense of your voice being heard. This results in people walking all over you, and abusing your friendship. When your SO leaves you because “you never took charge” and “you weren’t a good leader”, you finally snap. Out of sheer spite, you decide to run for president.
To make conflicts interesting, eliminate easy solutions to them. It’s much easier for readers to feel invested when characters need to work hard to resolve problems, especially if they need to use imaginative methods to do so.
When life sucks, throw yourself into art.

“One day, we will pack our bags and leave this town behind in my grandfather’s old pickup truck, in search of happiness in a place where no one knows of our names, in search of our old selves again.”
— Lukas W. // When we leave
