The Gowanus Ballroom is an alternative exhibition space located along the Gowanus Canal in Brooklyn, NY. Once operated as a steel mill in the 1800′s, this 12,000-square-foot space sits beneath 50-foot cathedral ceilings with a 4,000-square-foot mezzanine overlooking the lower gallery. In 2010, Josh Young of Serett Metal retooled the space and founded Gowanus Ballroom. The space now serves both as a metal fabrication shop that frequently opens its doors to artists and assists or teaches them to build, and as a creative exhibition space that showcases the talents of emerging artists and designers in the Brooklyn area.

Gowanus Ballroom is an art collective that shares space with Serett Metalworks in a vast 12,000-square-foot warehouse with 50-foot ceilings located on the Gowanus Canal in Brooklyn, NY.

The Ballroom facilitates large scale events several times a year, providing artists, performers, and musicians a space to collaborate. The Ballroom's unique approach supports the arts community without requiring that they generate profit, but rather by what they create. Gowanus Ballroom takes no commission on artwork sold, we exist to support the artistic community.
