I’m going to be posting a whole bunch of craft pics here in batches in the next few weeks, but to start with I just wanted to share this chonky guy with all of you, this absolute unit:
His wavy legs are the result of always decreasing once and once only at the end of each row (rather than decreasing evenly around).
And of course, as my biologist friend said, what’s great about octopuses is, no matter what color(s) you make them, it’s technically a correct color for an octopus!
If you’d like a pattern, he’s very simple to make, which is why I like him (I am super lazy)
for each leg:
mc 6 inc around (12) sc, inc (18) sc, sc, inc (24) sc, sc, sc, inc (30) blo sc around decrease once at the end of each further round. keep going until you have (8)
body
mc 6 inc around (12) keep increasing around like this (18, 24, 30, etc) until you have eight rows including the mc sc around 7 times decrease around (from 48 to 42, to 36, etc) until you have (8), then fasten off
you can either sew the legs on after you’ve fastened off, or if you’re me and you hate sewing, pause at the 36 row to crochet the legs in (you’ll have to fudge a teensy bit, as the legs will total 32 stitches)
put the eyes wherever you think he should have eyes, that’s not my business

After a long hiatus from crocheting, I've finally dug my teeth back into a project. I'm maybe 70% done with a granny square throw done in Star Trek TNG colors!
Beautiful Granny Square design
It took me a couple of months, but I’m very proud of my self made tetris blanket :)
Isn’t this effective?  Made by woollyvix on Instagram. Granny Square’s connected in gradient colours.  LOVE this!

Gorgeous Granny Square
As I started learning to crochet, I struggled to understand the given instructions even with the aid of pictures and diagrams. It was difficult to grasp how to seamlessly get from one diagram to the next. So, I decided that it would be useful to find crocheting video tutorials on YouTube. It serves to bridge …
