Out of the three of them, Rowan is the first to release solo music during an extended Ark hiatus. They do the same thing one direction did, which is that they never truly "broke up" but are rather taking an extended break. Rowan releases an album that he made 90% single-handedly, with small contributions from the other two as well as industry professionals. Lister is the next to release music, he would have been reluctant, but needed to get stuff off of his chest. The sound would be very different compared to rowan, but his influence is clear on the record. Jimmy wouldnt release solo music for a long time, but when he does, its dramatic and artistic and truthful. I think he'd be too scared of confronting the fact that the Ark separated, and so he would go to other artists he's friends with for help rather than Rowan and Lister. Obviously they would still have an influence, but not as much. And then of course the band gets back together and releases a big tie-in album that makes all of their solo work seem like its part of an entire story rather than stand-alone works!!

jimmy thinks that the cure is love. his issues, insecurities and lonliness is just because he's lacking romance. if he could be in love then hes a step closer to having a normal life, and lister is in love with him so why not get with him. he doesn't quite have romantic feelings for lister yet but maybe one day he'll wake up and be in love with him too.

lister thinks that the cure is jimmy. jimmy is everything he's ever wanted, his crush on jimmy also started around the time everything started going to shit in his life. so for years while going through the trenches, the fantasy of jimmy is his biggest comfort. and in a relationship the thing he wants the most, beyond affection and sex and even anything romantic really, is just some comfort.

I think we need to consider that yes, Lister is objectified and has his experiences with being overly sexualized, but also that Lister *likes* that stuff. He likes having sex. He likes flirting. He likes making out with strangers. Of course he's been through tramatic events related to these activities, but that doesnt take away the fact that he still enjoys it!! He's confident, and if he's respected, a good time never hurt anybody :)
