I really don't jive with the idea that Will had an abusive childhood - he gives "I had an absent single father who did his best to love me while also working like mad just to keep the lights on and put food on the table, but I spent too much time alone and became something strange and foreign to him as I got older, so we weren't so much a family as we were two guys that existed in a house together. He still taught me how to fish and fix things, but I didn't know him very well, and he didn't really know me, either" vibes.

His little "No, I'm not abused!" freak-out in response to what Hannibal says after he turns up in the office with no idea how he got there does feel like a knee-jerk defensive thing, though. But then he's already freaking out, anyway, so it might have had that tone to it no matter what.

One of the wildest Hannigram shot sequences in the entire series is in the dinner scene in S2ep10. It has Will seductively licking the flesh of a man he beat to death with his bare hands off his fork while smirking at Hannibal and Hannibal smiling about it like a blushing bride. Like okay just say you both want to taste some long pork that’s under the table instead of on it already
