Eleven insisted I use this app to socialize more. She says it's bad for me to "constantly angst over a fallen Monarch" and that I should reconnect with my fellow commonbugs, or something to that effect. I don't understand how she isn't upset by the loss of our Monarch to the void below all things, but no matter.
I am Grand Reed Seventeen of Forty, eternal voice of the Citadel of Song and current leader of the Grand Reeds in the absence of our Monarch. You may call me Grand Reed Seventeen if you are short on time, or simply Seventeen if you are shorter.
...I know not what else to say. I suppose I shall figure this out as I progress.
Welcome to Seventeen's blog! She's... well, she's certainly an odd sort. Why don't you speak to her a bit?
This blog is run by @diablo-sera-tops AND @crazysnor1ax! There's no schedule here. We'll mostly just post whenever we feel like it.

Rules:
Hateful asks will not be tolerated, period.
This blog will contain spoilers for the entirety of Silksong's base game, and asks regarding spoilers are allowed. However, any spoilers for content updates (such as Sea of Sorrow) will not be allowed for the foreseeable future.
This blog will ALSO contain spoilers for the Silken Ascension AU! If you don't know what that is, here's a post explaining it. All posts relevant to Silken Ascension will be tagged with both #silken ascension and #silken ascension spoilers for ease of filtering. However, there will be NO spoilers for the core plot of Silken Ascension until the time comes for that story arc. Please don't mention anything about the plot of Silken Ascension; it's not canonically known to Pharloom yet! Trust me, keeping it secret will make the eventual story arc better!
No NSFW.
Asks about ships/romantic relations are okay, as long as they're not serious. We're just here to be silly!
Memes, sprite edits, and drawings may be used in response to asks, but they're not guaranteed.
Other RP blogs are more than welcome to interact!
There will be story stuff happening here in the future, but at the current moment, Seventeen is just making her presence known to Pharloomblr. When I decide to do the story, there will be OOC posts about it beforehand to see who does and doesn't want to be involved. Do NOT try to force a story here.
The Vaults are almost too dark to properly navigate... by the threads, it is almost insulting how difficult it is to traverse this part of the holy Citadel. Certainly not helped by my personal lack of experience here... though it is not as though any other Grand Reeds have it, either. I shall simply have to persevere. I have what I need already; I must only find the exit.
...does this darkness serve any function besides deterring visitors?!
(… A light shines at the end of one hall, illuminating a large, stout gilded bug carefully, intensely ciphering a scroll upon their lap as they sit, back against a tall and reinforced shelf. A silhouette is seen aswell, the flying bug holding the silkfly lamp that provides light.)
(From this modest distance, only the large Scrollreader transcribing on the ground can be heard as they repeat the words they read. The Lampbearer provides infrequent nods, though neither seem aware of the third presence.)
(The two bugs practically jump out of their shells from a third voice they had thought impossible to have existed at all, simply because they assumed they had been the only two down here in the Vault’s darkest chambers. The Scrollreader hits the back of their head against the shelf in their surprise, while the Lampbearer fumbles through the air for a moment before regaining composure and entering a stance primed to throw their held lamp… Both bugs stop as they see the presence in question, and the Lampbearer in particular loses their defensive posture for one of apparent, dawning fear. The Lampbearer speaks first.)
… I am so, so terribly sorry, fairest golden Reed.
What in our great and gilded city are you doing here?! And it’s awful etiquette to interrupt any vaultkeeper during our holy work, as per the 14th-
(The Lampbearer firmly knocked on the side of the Scrollreader’s mask with the back of their hand.)
Permit me to do the speaking, Scrollreader… Forgive both myself and my fellow, we had assumed ourselves alone in these pitch-black recesses. Our folly…
(… A golden-ranked grand reed…? I am deftly curious as to what a bug beyond the Conductors could need from our vaults, but I do not assume for a second I am permitted to ask.)
You are both forgiven. I understand my presence, poorly announced as it was, may have been startling.
[One of her claws briefly tightens around something—a small bundle of ornate scrolls—before relaxing once more.]
I come seeking assistance. The Vaults, grand and dark as they are, have proven difficult to navigate thus far. I came for the sake of a sacred task, and with it complete, I wish to take my leave... though it would appear I have lost my way.
It almost feels as thought the Vaults themselves rearranged while I searched them...
If I may ask for such a favor, I would like for one of you kindly guide me to the right path. You would have my deepest gratitude for doing so.

Seventeen, I'm pleased to see you again. However, your recent postings have piqued my curiosity but also my... confusion? Concern? Something along those lines.
Its none of my business to pry into your duties, espeicially if they are confidential... but out of what you can say publicly, what are you up to?
...I suppose we are close enough.
Very well, curious bug. I shall indulge you.
The Choir and I have been searching for a particular... object of interest, let us say. An object of legend, whose very existence has been debated for ages upon ages. It is a sacred thing that will allow the Citadel to return to its former glory. It will restore order to these gilded halls.
After searching for Silk knows how long now—we found it.
Preparations have been in progress for a long while now, but we are almost ready to set change into motion.
We are only missing one very crucial, lost thing. Though that will be publicly announced soon.
Ah. Much more time has passed than I thought. It would seem I became lost in my work down here...
No matter. Much of what needed to be done has been handled. Only a few things remain, and if things go well, I should be out of these Vaults by tomorrow...
...Mother below, this place is a labyrinth. Where do they keep their maps?
Grand Reed. Why do you think the First Child killed out Monarch? Are they not both divine?
@clawmaiden
It was... but a transgression. A major one, but a transgression nonetheless.
Even prior to the Weaver in half-part's arrival in our kingdom did she attempt numerous times to mingle amongst the commonbugs. A foolish desire—they are far below her! She understands not the magnitude of her lineage. She understands not her birthright.
The others and I have concluded the Weaver in half-part is at fault for her fall from grace. She has tainted, poisoned our beloved heiress' mind with her heresy. So like her ancestors is she... forsaking their Holy Mother, forsaking their divinity... unfathomable.
Daughter Silk will come to understand her place in time.
Oh, B O Y. I sure do appreciate some Clown-to-Clown communication to garnish my dreary afternoon! Now, time for this old Shaman to school you two shills in the ancient ways of Just-How-Wrong-You-Are…
Firstly, the mongrel has no birthright whatsoever. Not that any other Higher Being does, but the half-breed even less so.
Hers is a soul amorphous, fundamentally and eternally undecided on account of her two bestial lineages (yes, I see Wyrms as Beasts, don’t contact me). Honestly, she couldn’t rule a kingdom if she tried; she’s more a traveling event, a ‘hero’ that bounces between lands leaving ruin in her wake, and all the while her divinity deceives bugs into thinking she’s some folk legend.
The mongrel is the worst of both her halves; her mother’s drapemite nature prevents her from settling anywhere, and her father’s nature allows her to get away with that and all the damage she causes.
To be clear, the half-breed’s carelessness is nothing to your god’s animalistic vanity. Thank Night itself—literally—that she’s dead. But I do not settle for lesser evils.
Are you really upset that Silk is gone because she was your Monarch or is it because without her you don’t know what to do with your life?
Faith is the very foundation of Citadel. Devotion is the hemolymph coursing through our gilded chambers. We, the Choir, maintain such a force. The Monarch fuels it.
With no Monarch, there is no faith. No devotion. Our voices are silenced, our praises aimless. She is our everything—the Citadel’s everything. Without Her, Pharloom’s glory is for naught.
What is a kingdom without a ruler? What is an army without direction? What is a fire if it has no reason to burn? The army will disband, the fire will wither away—and the kingdom will crumble.
The Cradle weeps at the loss of its Queen, and we share its anguish.
Can some of these bugs really be considered a ‘god’ if they can die?
Mind your words.
You assume that because our Monarch is lost in the darkness below all things—that because Her holy thread no longer guides the bugs of Pharloom—She is no longer with us.
...I cannot rightfully call this foolish, as I, too, feared this may have been the case once. I feared my faith in Her might become wounded, but I was told She yet lives. The Void has ensnared Her body, but She remains.
Even gods can fall, but that does not mean they can die.
If you had to be anything other than a Grand Reed, what would you be? To be more specific, what other kind of profession would you take?
A peculiar question... I do not imagine myself ever leaving my station as a Grand Reed. Despite recent hardships within the Choir, I take solace in knowing we remain pious, and that soon, our efforts will be rewarded.
I suppose if I had no other option, I would like to oversee the Memorium... though if this hypothetical required me to leave the holy Citadel entirely, I fear I have no answer.
