✿ If we don't know each other, you can call me Sole. I am 25 and use she/her pronouns.

✿ This is a religious sideblog. Please respect its nature.

✿ My beliefs are currently shifting once again. Although this blog started as a journal for my polytheist path, especially within the Hellenic pantheon, my soul is being pulled toward Catholicism. I still have to figure out how I feel about it all, what to save and what to let go. "Christopaganism" is a label I feel ambivalent about, but fits accurately for the moment. ✿ As of now, I don't plan on using specific tags mostly because I wouldn't be able to keep up myself

✿ DNI criteria include the usual suspects. I do not reclaim the conservative framing of Christianity, so don't even try. ✿ With that said, my asks and DMs are always* open!

✿ *Likes and reblogs from minors are tolerated, however I don't feel comfortable with any direct interaction. I will be as strict and careful as possible about this.

You call Mary a virgin because you shun female sexuality think women have to be pure and "clean" to be holy, I call Her a virgin because She was one when She conceived with Jesus through the holy Spirit and that's a sign of the unbelievable miracles God can make, not Mary's sexual status. We are not the same.

I am working on accepting this about myself: demanding consistency is what ultimately drives me away from most things. This includes my religious practice.

At the same time, I can't help feeling uncomfortably disconnected from it. Reciprocity is fundamental when it comes to building a strong relationship with the Gods, and the ebb and flow of how I approach everything makes it terribly difficult.

Every time I come back from a "hiatus" I sound more guilty than the previous one. Every "first" prayer and offering given as if they were olive branches. Expecting disappointment from the counterpart.

It's terribly unhealthy. And what I'm starting to think is, maybe I'm getting the approach wrong. Maybe I shouldn't treat each comeback as "starting over", but rather a catch-up with trusted friends.

Striving to put as much effort and respect as my mind can, while remembering how understanding the Gods actually are.

That is my new goal.
