VINCE GILLIGAN: I hate AI. (Variety; Deadline)
it's plurbin time
I really just miss the simplicity of s1 I think. I miss when Hawkins really did feel like a close-knit town, I miss when characters weren't all over the place, and there was just some type of grain in the film, even if it was filmed in 2015. I also miss the character building. Jim was a divorced alcoholic. Jonathan was a 'creep' and had a rough upbringing. Nancy was your typical popular, pretty schoolgirl, but she was in love with the so-called creep and could handle a gun. And Joyce was just a single mother, being driven to the brink of insanity. I just feel like nowadays, there's no time for character development, or no thought put behind it at all.
I really miss when stranger things did feel like an eighties, small town, cop sci-fi thriller with horror elements. Now it just feels like a long, drawn out season of some shitty marvel cash grab show.
"mike why am i coming out in front of 13 people like i'm at a school presentation and why are murray and steve and nancy here and who is kali and why is she here too" and it was allll a d&d game you guys mike wheeler sucks at writing and when steve is back in chicago
tell me about you. just you
you'd think that "inhuman thing that isn't a person but speaks like a person and talking to it will slowly drive you mad" would only be found in folktales and fables and so on. but no. chatgpt
and pluribus too
we need to talk more about the fandom experience of "I actually do like the idea of these two characters together and think it would have been an interesting direction for the show to have gone in, but unfortunately everyone who openly ships them is so exhaustingly unpleasant about it that it's barely even enjoyable to engage with the fandom at large anymore so the ship itself is now ruined for me"
“its going to be a dark and bloody Christmas” me when i lie
i think it’s really funny how quickly (and rightfully) people turned on stranger things after volume 2… who could’ve imagined the final shit from the butt getting released in three seperate parts would backfire
maybe I just get overly emotional about ancient art in general but I can’t stop thinking about this shot from pluribus
like that’s IT. that’s the show.
