these are more incoherent rambles than actual headcanons, so there’s a lot of random bullshit lol- also giving them various lasting injuries and disabilities because I KNOW ambrosia and nectar supposedly heal everything but NOT in my world op healing does not exist (I will die on this hill in every universe)

Percy
Swore off alcohol because of Gabe, but will down a mocktail
has always wanted to try being a drummer, but never gave it much thought because of the money required
goes skating with Piper a lot (she roller skates) and as of late they’ve been teaching Annabeth to skateboard- it’s going… okay…
When he’s stressed, he scratches his scalp and unknowingly pulls at his hair a lot; Annabeth notices and has been trying to help him find hair products to help heal his scalp
of the seven, he gets the most nightmares (regular and demigod)
saltwater has the opposite effect on his hair that it normally does on other people; it’s like free conditioner
Annabeth
She drafts architecture designs on paper before modeling anything digitally, and keeps all of her drafts in a single file folder- it’s so full and weighs like 5 pounds but she refuses to find a better or bigger place to keep them
audhd- I don’t think her adhd is explored nearly enough in the books, but also would be neat to explore if she was autistic as well
Big chewer (nails, hoodie strings, etc.) and Percy got her a dolphin shaped chew necklace (it is now on her at all times tucked under her shirt collar)
got her first ear piercings from Thalia when they were on the road together- she was very excited to have earrings like Thalia’s but was (and is) TERRIFIED of needles (Luke held her hand dw)
holding up the sky caused her to develop mild scoliosis and back pain
Grover
Moss and mushrooms grow on his hooves
the fake feet aren’t at all comfortable, and they leave him with a lot of ankle (idk what it’d be called on goat legs) pain after wearing them for too long
When his horns got too big and his usual cap stopped fitting, he unraveled it and had the yarn knitted into a case for his pan pipes
He keeps track of every demigod he’s been assigned to; for those he successfully saved, he adds a stone to a small jar he keeps, and for those he lost, he carves a small wood pendant with their name and keeps it on a cord on his belt as not to forget them (he put Thalia’s pendant in the jar after she was brought back by the fleece)
Jason
Aroace-spec. The aroace beam comes for everyone.
using lightning leaves his hands tingling and numb for a little after it
terrified of losing memories- he keeps a journal to very carefully track events and dates; many pages are dedicated to very mundane things, like: “8/12, learned that Percy also likes licorice”
absolutely HORRENDOUS cook because he doesn’t know how to season anything and has kinda just accepted flavorless food (one unfortunate thing he picked up from Lupa)
he can sense static electricity in things before touching them

Piper
When intensely emotional, she finds it hard to control whether or not she uses charm speak
Pronounced canine teeth + a tooth gap next to her right canine
short bc I said so- like 5’2 or 5’3
shes good at roller skating, and her and Percy make frequent visits to skate parks together
As a child of Aphrodite, I think she literally sees the world more vividly (children of Aphrodite are more tuned to seeing ‘beauty’ in the world)
^^^ on the above; she likes photography because of it; the rest of the seven chipped in and bought her a really nice camera for her birthday one year and she went bonkers over it
after she got concussed in the Burning Maze (like 3 times to the point of a seizure), she developed some balance issues and chronic migraines; she uses a cane occasionally for balance
Coffee enthusiast
Social anxiety tbh- she ruminates on little social interactions a lot about things like if she should or shouldn’t have used charmspeak, her genuineness in conversation, etc. (she’s just like me fr…)
Leo
Nails are constantly chipped from working, and idly biting them; at some point Piper tells him to try nail polish, and the texture worked to help him stop biting his nails
Aro spec- the aro (or) ace beam comes for everyone!!!
absolutely HORRENDOUS cook because while he does season food (unlike Jason) he doesn’t know how to actually properly use said seasonings. Never put the two of them in a kitchen together
Most superstitious of the seven, but it rarely comes up
taught Jason and Piper Morse code
while he can’t get burnt, his fire use causes his skin to be very dry and brittle, especially on his hands, so he cuts himself a lot while working because his hands just can’t callous like they should
Frank
Sometimes after shifting back from an animal, he has some residual impulses/ cravings of said animal (ex: craving meat after being a tiger or smth)
worst acne of the group; he gets awful cystic acne, and he’s tried everything on it but nothing works
Hazel
Like Nico, she also gets fatigued from using her abilities, but not often to the point of passing out like he does (she is hydrated)
of the seven, she and Annabeth are the only two that curse somewhat regularly (though albeit regular is sparsely; I don’t think any of the seven were raised in environments that encouraged it)
Reyna
Aroace THE AROACE BEAM COMES FOR EVERYONE!!!!
Ocd
knows how to ice skate and enjoys it, but very rarely finds time or places for it due to her role at camp Jupiter
Shaky hands- she doesn’t mind it on its own, but hates when others notice
Thalia
Brain fog and chronic nerve pain after getting out of the tree
same as Jason, using lightning gives her tingling and numbness in her hands when she uses it
when her joints crack, her bones can light up like a glow stick
has given piercings to at least 3 or 4 other demigods, and probably most of the hunters too

when he was a preteen/ younger he definitely frequented hot topic, but as he got older he grew an appreciation for putting real care into clothes, so he thrifts and up cycles a lot
popular headcanon, but he’s a cane user bc of fatigue

Also popular headcanon, but he’s hoh and uses hearing aids
^^^ on the above note, his hearing aids got lost/ broken during the battle of Manhattan, and I think not too many people outside of the Apollo cabin knew he was deaf at that point, so after most of his cabin died in the battle and he was working overtime on healing people by himself, he got very overwhelmed with people trying to tell him things without knowing he couldn’t hear them amongst the noise of the battle
permanent cowlick
he’s completely nose blind to the antiseptic smells in the camp infirmary; but, he can also recognize a lot of substances, poisons, and materials used as a field medic by smell
General headcanons
While all of them need therapy desperately, I think maybe only Percy and Piper have gone (both have only gone like once, and it was Sally/ Mellie’s idea respectively, not theirs)
One time the Demeter cabin got banned from capture the flag for a month because they covered the entire enemy side in poison ivy, and like half of camp got effected from it
^^^ on the above note, that incident started the official list of plants that Demeter kids aren’t allowed to summon within camp borders
the Argo II is covered in those led light strips that everyone had in 2020
of all the cabins on the Argo, Percy’s is the messiest, but not the dirtiest; Leo’s is the dirtiest because while it doesn’t have as much stuff laying around as Percy’s, his reeks of motor oil and engine smoke and anything else of the like
girls nights on the Argo have become a regular occurrence, and every single one of the boys has tried to join in at least once
theres a goldfish in the big house named Justin (Bieber) he’s been there for like a decade and he just Refuses To Die
Chiron keeps a detailed log of every single camper like a teacher- it has everything from allergies to arrival date to things like “he and X fight often; keep an eye on them during capture the flag”
Hedge keeps pictures of all his demigods in his wallet like a grandpa with their grandchildren

Summary:
Clarisse ruminates on an unkind anniversary; Silena listens, and they have some well deserved peace together.
Is still find it funny that while (some) complaints about PJO and it's writing are valid, some just miss the point of the book itself.
Does the fact Demigods have ADHD and Dyslexia make sense because they're "wired for battle and ancient greek"? No.
But the meta of the books is that RR only wrote them because of his son with ADHD and Dyslexia. There would be no book without it- and say what you want about his bad descriptions of Dyslexia but honestly as someone with ADHD Percy’s dialogue reads like someone with ADHD.
This also goes into things like queer and POC rep in earlier books: is it good? No. Should it be the standard now adays? no.
But this was a book series published in the early 2000s. Having a series overtly state a character was mentally ill was out of right field at the time. Nico coming out as gay was unheard of. Even if the coming out scene WAS bad, I NEED people (both who glaze the whole thing or who despise it) to realize it's not written well, but it was still written despite the time it was. Which again: is better then most series at the time.
This also goes for POC rep: are there several issues with it? Yes. But unlike most rep done stereotypically its not purposely cruel. It's not done this way because RR thinks less of POC, its done this way because hes a straight middle aged white man. To actually name a first nation's person in your book (even if he choose the most "stereotypical" one) was a big deal at the time. To have several characters who were not white and important was a big deal at the time.
I'm not meaning to glaze RR. Anyone can have their opinions and choose what they want to read.
But guys, PLEASE these books were written in the 2000s/2010s. Gay marriage was only legalized in the states in 2011. Percy Jackson (at least in pop culture) is thought of to sit just below Harry Potter- which is owned by a bigot hell bent on destroying people's lives.
RR isn't the supervillian some of you make him out to be (unless I've massive missed something), he again is just a middle aged white man who is trying to write rep into his books. Which is better then 99% of books on the market today much less on the market in the early 2000s.
Time period does matter, and trying to "cancel" an author whos legit just trying to write rep for communities he's very obviously not in is not helping anyone. Especially not when a writer of another childhood series is literally helping strip people of their rights.
