it’s thanksgiving, which most of us, especially if ur white, see it as a time to be thankful and connect with our loved ones, but we should also take the time to remember that this is a colonizer holiday and a majority of what is known by white people about thanksgiving ( the story taught to us in schools ) is wrong and far more complex. this holiday is steeped within cultural appropriation, and ignores the genocide of indigenous people and their cultures. that being said, here’s a few resources for donation you should check out.

hi i’m very sorry for disappearing i’ve had a rough couple of months and life got very overwhelming so i just kinda Shut Down to a point where all i did was go to work and eat and sleep and the only people i talked to were my family who i live with, but i’m slowly crawling out of my hole and trying to get back to feeling like a person again. my muse for just about all the characters here, as well as my motivation to write here are still kind of dust at the moment, so this blog will be low activity / hiatus until further notice. i’m working a new blog for a character that’s been living in my brain for a while now though, so if you’d like me to send you the url when its set up dm me! i won’t be posting it publicly here, and i do plan on using an alias on future blogs from now on for privacy reasons simply because i’m not comfortable using my real name on tumblr anymore. if you do follow/interract with me on future blogs, please respect that and use that name unless we’re having a private conversation. i feel like this was a very long and rambly post so thank u for reading it if u did adfgvadgbsfg

“dream girl? i’m flattered.” she shook her head, warm smile still present on her face as she brought her gaze back up to find his. it always felt like a weight had been lifted off of luna’s shoulders when she spent time with rhett— especially when they could be alone and not have to put up with paparazzi or rabid twitter fans. “do you ever miss high school? the closest i got to the whole experience was a few guest episodes of one tree hill.” although coming from different backgrounds they still seemed to understand each other in a way luna didn’t get with any of her other pr relationships (or most of her ‘real’ hollywood relationships, if she were being honest). the question posed back to her is one that has her growing quiet, eyebrows knitting together as she thinks genuinely on the answer. “i don’t know. maybe?” the ghost of a smile then. “i used to dream about being a normal kid. i’m sure that sounds silly, but i-i just wanted to go to school. play sports. that kind of thing. now, i-i don’t think i can do anything else but this. does that make sense?”
“ high school? hell no, ” the last word morphed into a chuckle as it passed his lips, before he delivered an only slightly more serious answer, “ i do kinda miss some of the other stuff sometimes though — friends back home, gettin’ to be a stupid kid without an audience. ” then a skeptical expression, paired with a shake of his head. “ i don’t think that’s silly. i actually think you’d be kinda crazy if you didn’t. i’m barely in this thing, and i already think about whether or not i’m shit outta luck with any kinda normal life from now on. i don’t think anybody can knock ya for wantin’ to have a sleepover or somethin’. ” do you really like it? was the next question that came to mind, but rhett decided against it. it was nice being able to talk to luna, a push forward from the spacious professional mask he had put on ( however unsuccessfully ) when the pair first met. and as much time as the two spent together, it was much better spent with a friend than a business partner. maybe that’s why he felt the need to keep the air between them light, as to not risk ruining the conversation. “ you learn much of anything at one tree hill academy? ”

rebecca hallowell , 26 , large animal vet — farm gay with a very big heart , a heaping serving of adhd , and a habit of putting her foot in her mouth . fresh out of vet school and recently moved to the country to find work w farm animals . would like a hug .

“do you ever regret it? getting into the limelight, i mean.” and this relationship, she thought silently, but she wouldn’t put rhett up to that. they were holed up in a hotel room not too far from where she was shooting a guest spot on a show for the next week, luna resting against the bed as she watched rhett at his position at the room’s desk. “i guess it’s something i can’t help thinking about, especially as i get older. what life would be like if i didn’t pretend to sleep in hotel rooms with handsome cowboys.” a teasing (mostly) smile then, before she brought her knees to her chest and rested her elbows on them so she could prop her head up on her palms. // @gravedrt for yee yee man rhett
“ i don’t know, maybe. ” the real answer depended on whether you asked on a friday night when he was in trouble for an unintentionally public escapade or on a sunday afternoon when his mom called him after coming home from church to the house the limelight let him buy her. “ but i guess there are worse things than nice hotels and my old high school buddies thinkin’ i got somethin’ goin’ on with their dream girl. ” a quiet laugh came as rhett leaned back in his seat, crossed a leg over his knee. his perpetual restlessness manifested in the tapping of his foot against empty air as he considered the idea — of living like this his entire life. as hard as he tried, he couldn’t quite imagine it. “ you think you’d be bored without it ? not just this ” a tiny nod indicated that this really meant them. “ just the whole fame thing. kinda hard to picture you in suburbia or somethin’. ”
