I'm serious when I say we gotta give Temmie Chang half the credit for Making Undertale (and Deltarune)

She's got an animation degree, I know the art in Undertale gets underappreciated sometimes because it's trying to evoke an older simpler style, but the art in Undertale is legit amazing and without Temmie, none of Toby's ideas would have been able to be realized (without finding some other artist and animator)

She deserves more flowers for being the one who made the vast majority of the art assets for an entire game that is one of the most commonly cited games as an influence on others (her style is so beloved and recognizeable, there's a fully complete Undertale fangame emulating it)

the Holiday house is haunted. the Dreemurr house is haunted. every relationship is fractured, falling apart, or already beyond repair. everyone is traumatized and barely grasping their current realities. Noelle can barely hear the mention of the word December without falling apart. Kris cant even talk about their own feelings or refuses to. Both their parents struggle to help them or are absent entirely. Toriel has to juggle her job, her role in her community, all while trying to support her traumatized child who she knows there is something wrong with. Noelle knows something is wrong too and at the same time is watching them slip further and further away. Carol is mortified about something happening to her last living child so much so she won't let her go out in the rain. All the adults in this situation barely even have each other to lean on of course they're going to spiral or fuck up. Those years of friendships are gone. The only one handling anything well enough is Rudy and he's bedridden in the hospital.

No one is talking and everyone is hurting. Of fucking course no one is going to handle their own grief right. Everyone is going to do something wrong or hurt someone else.

No one is equipped with how to handle tragedy "properly" let alone something with no closure. No one is "bad" everyone is hurt. Everyone is throttled by grief. God.
