maia could spot grayson from a mile away, and today was no different. for a short moment she’d lifted her head seeing the man come walking towards the bar, and all she had to do was turn around and start making the drink he always got, the sound of his footsteps got closer and closer until they ceased and quiet squeaks from the bar chair replaced it. soon after she finished it, and turned around making her way towards him, “tall, dark and handsome.. just how i like it..” she said, and placed the glass in front of him

          --- “Wet and ice cold, just how I like it” Grayson raised an eyebrow at the the girl before taking a sip of the drink she placed in front of him, it was exactly to his taste, not even his own employee’s could reach his standards for his alcoholic beverages, just one of the qualities of Maia that he thoroughly enjoyed. Maia had been one of the only girls who managed to hold his attention for more than a night, it was an odd, yet comforting feeling knowing someone besides Lucifer was around every now and again.

           --- Work had been steady, not nearly as busy as tourist season, but enough to hold some of his attention these days, mostly he was either at work or being a pest at Maia’s bar. Today he decided to go there and be an annoyance, maybe she’d come home with him, again. Grayson planted himself down on his favorite stool and awaited his drink, by now she knew what he liked so he didn’t have to say much, he just waited for her or for someone else to distract him.

just another night at work for maia, doing paperwork before heading back behind the bar to do what she did best, sell drinks to people. standing off to one side she helped a group of tourists out getting them whatever stupid shit they wanted, getting hit on by the drunkest out of them , but her gaze kinda wandered off to see a familiar figure come sneaking up towards the bar but got served by some of her other bartender who as grayson tried making conversation was completely shut down, and she couldn’t help but giggle.. quickly finishing up with her group, she moved down the bar, eyes on the familiar, “that didn’t go to well now did it..?” she said and smiled before stopping up by him, resting her frame against the counter.

        --- “I’m having an off day” Grayson huffed back at Maia, it had been a few days since he’d last seen the girl, and he was oddly happy to see her face after the long day he’d had at work. “So, did I happen to wander into the bar you own or do you work at more than one?” he teased as he sipped on his drink, sighing slightly at the glass “it needs ice, your bartenders suck” he once again grumbled into his glass.

 “Oh, I see so one girl turns you down and you just have a list a mile long waiting for you?” Bella said with a sarcastic tone, she found the thought far from impressive but how he came off to her she really wouldn’t doubt it. A raised eyebrow showed how impressed she was that he remembered her. “That’s right. So a man owning a successful business spends his time here, hm?” She said looking around. “I would think they were too busy to have free time.”

          --- “When your a boss you can set your own hours, and actually you have no idea how much work I put into my business, days off are necessary, but you wouldn’t know what real work is, you just hide behind books” Grayson huffed, he was trying not to get heated but he didn’t really feel like getting heckled on his day off, especially because iit wasn’t a true day off since he’d just left the club “what are you doing here anyway, I would have figured you were too prude for this”.

 The familiar man’s face brought a curious look as Bella watched him walk in and try grabbing the attention of the bartender. She smiled when he was denied an interaction and shook her head. “My, my. It’s looks like not everyone is so interested in you, are they?” She said sliding her drink over a bit. 

         --- “I have enough people to worry about, I own a successful business with tons of beautiful women, I don’t need her” he waved in the direction she had gone to. He took a slow sip of his bourbon before turning back to the girl “we met, Isabella right?” it was a feat for Grayson to remember anyone’s name, or at least care enough to try.

         --- For someone who owned a club Grayson didn’t actually get out as often as he would like to, so he wrapped up his sift early and decided to check out the bar down by the beach, it wasn’t a far walk and he didn’t get his workout in today so he trekked his way there silently. Once he arrived he sat down at the bar ordering a bourbon, smiling at the bartender “how’s your day going so far?” he asked but the bartender just rolled her eyes and walked away “alright” he huffed loudly and sipped his drink.

feeling the other pull away, maia peered up at him, gently biting her bottom lip while her fingers carefully played with the hairs in the back of his neck while he spoke, suggesting that the the two were to move things upstairs..  and of course he’d be the one living in the penthouse of the building, and it was just her luck to come across the one that did as well. “If thats case i don’t see why not…”

         --- “Good, because i’m not all about that public stuff” he shook his head and smirked “lets go” and with that he grabbed her hand in his, walking towards the door, grabbing a robe to wrap around himself for the walk to the elevator. It was no time at all until they were at the penthouse suite “this is it, if it’s messing it’s my roommate’s fault, he barely know how to take care of anyone” he closed the door behind him “don’t pet his cat, he would probably smell him on his precious Hammy and have a shit fit”. Grayson walked over to the fridge and grabbed them each a beer, taking a big sip before giving the girl his attention once again.

 Lucifer took his bag and huffed forward. Grayson and himself had become quite a pair since they moved in together. Lucifer never did much except make a less of things and grayson seemed to just go along with it but in public they always pressed their buttons. “Eggs taste disgusting after eating them for a week straight. And has it ever occurred to you I don’t need all that healthy shit? Look at me, I’m fit and eat what I want. I don’t need to be a salad eating gym monkey to look good. I was blessed with Fontaine genetics, even my sister’s seem to have gotten it… not as much as myself but enough.” He said walking next to grayson. 

         --- You could practically hear Grayson rolling his eyes at Lucifer “your metabolism may be okay now, but one day you’re going to be as fat as a house cat that can’t even catch a mouse that runs in front of his nose, and i’ll be perfect, and you’ll beg me to help you and instead i’ll throw pizza and ice cream at you, watching you turn to mush” he glared over at Lucifer as they walked “sounds like a great plan to me!”.

the girl let him hold her against him, needing the strong hold he had on her, it made her feel small, in need of protection, and this, and him– it certainly did the trick for her.. her fingers disappeared up into his hair, gently tugging at it while their kiss did everything but seem to slow down, or get less intense.. 

          --- Grayson was loving this, having a pretty girl ho couldn’t keep her hands off of Grayson was everything to him, why else would be own the club? He pulled away slightly “want to move this party to the penthouse?” he suggested, grinning down at the small dark haired girl “my roommate may be there but he either won’t notice or won’t give a shit” Grayson shrugged, it wasn’t like this would be the first time Lucifer saw him come home with someone.

 “You know… you didn’t have to do that, I could have just walked up there and waited.” Bella said shaking her head. She’d actually never experienced something like that. “What are you some famous face around the island or something? Is that why you get table service?” She asked looking at the line she would have had to stand in and this man just waved a finger like it was nothing. “Me? Oh… not much. I work at the libary mostly but recently I have picked up hiking around the islands, it’s not as adventurous as the ones in my books but it’s peaceful. What about yourself?”

          --- “I’m just insanely rich, so I may as well be a celebrity, people will do anything if you give them enough money” he took a sip of his coffee and when the barista put her coffee on the table he handed the barista fifty dollars and a charming smile before turning back to the girl. “Working at the library sounds like a gross waste of time, why bother burying your nose in dirty old book” he scoffed, he never could understand why people bothered wasting their days away by reading. “I own Chasseur’s Club, a gentleman’s club, which just cements my attitude that you can get whatever you want when you have enough money”.

Belle really didn’t need all the added compliments but at least he was showing her kindness and letting her take the opposite seat of the table. She let out a soft grunt as her body fell into the chair and all her muscles relaxed. “Thanks, I think if I had to walk any longer I would have actually collapsed.” She said watching at the slight disgust in his face as he looked around. She cleared her throat and nodded. “Coffee will definitely give me enough energy. At least until I can get home and actually relax. My name is Isabella by the way.”

       --- Grayson immediately waved over a barista “coffee for this beautiful girl” he smiled before shooing them away, knowing that ordering a barista to come take your order and deliver the coffee was not how these places went, but they knew he’d give a good tip, so no one ever said anything about it. “Grayson Chasseur” he had a devilish grin on his face “so, Isabella, what do you do on this extremely dull island?”.

 Belle turned around with her coffee order a bit sad to find the shop completely full. Sighing heavily she moved around untl she found someone sitting at a table but had an open seat. “Do you mind if I sit here? I’ve been on my feet all day organizing books… I just need to sit.” 

         --- “Of course I don’t mind, a pretty face like yours needs a place to rest her feet, plus, I made excellent company” Grayson straightened up and slowly took a sip of coffee as he watched her sit down, a slow smile growing across his face. “I’ve had a long day too, hence why i’m at this place” he motioned around the room, a slight look of disgust on his face.

“Of course I do, I’m entitled to it because this isn’t my fault.” Was Lucifer just mad because he knew he was lost in the wold of really ordinary things? Perhaps but he would never say that outloud; instead he’d just keep living life having things done for him; which now was Grayson doing all the shopping. Lucifer had quieted down but displayed a pout on his face and held his arms crossed over his chest, all until Grayson spoke. “Yeah, well when my big apple crumpit over here only makes eggs for basically every meal you would get a little upset too.” He snaked out giving his friend the same glare Grayson had given him earlier.

          --- “Eggs are good for you, you can’t keep up that chiseled bod if you’re just eating ice cream, you know how I feel about anything less than perfection” he spoke through gritted teeth at Lucifer, and he could tell now that the cashier was glaring at him. Wordlessly Grayson paid for the food and shoved the bag of ice cream at Lucifer “you can carry your own junk” he huffed as he practically stomped out of the store, happy just to be leaving this place, with Lucifer and Grayson even grocery shopping was dramatic.

“Well you’re more than welcome..” she muttered and smiled as she looked up at him, not helping but let a hand lay against his chest, the pads of her fingers made small circles across his skin as he listened to him speak, aware than she was falling straight into his trap if you could call it that.. she was just weak when it came to sweet talk, and this one was way too good at it.. knowing to keep someone interested, by making rather big claims as to how great he was.. but before she’d even get to say anything he’d grabbed a hold of her, and pulled her closer against him placing his hand at her face, pressing his lips against hers. honestly it took her breath away, she saw it coming but– all this… it was something else.. he really was something else, and all she could do was kiss him back, wanting whatever this was to continue as long as it could..

          --- Grayson hadn’t actually desired the company of a women as much as he used to, at home he was busy with Luc, at work he was surrounded by girls who would just take their clothes off, maybe it all just seemed boring and dull. The moment Maia had walked into the pool room he’d realized just how badly he needed someone, that he actually was missing it. Their lips against each other was driving him wild and his hands moved to her hips, pulling her close, strong hands not letting her go anywhere until he was ready to let her go.

“A gentleman’s club, hm? Well if you’re ever by the beach you should just come say hello, aand i could pour you some..” she muttered before she smirked, taking one step closer to him, looking up at him as she did. she had a feeling the two were both pretty aware of the game they were playing with each other, and she had a small hunch as to where it would lead them eventually.. hearing his comment to what she’d said her eyebrow raised itself for a moment before she chuckled lightly.. “Yeah? hot tubs usually works alright too..” she said while watching his eyes move up and down her, eyeing her swim suit. “ or so i’v heard.. “

          --- “I guess i’m going to have to spend more time down at the beach now, less held up at the club drinking the day away” his chuckle was smooth, he could pride himself on being at least a little bit seductive when it came to these situations. “I mean, kissing anywhere can be pretty amazing, it just depends on who with, me, for example, i’m a fantastic kisser” Grayson reached out and grabbed her hips, pulling her against him “and before you argue, i’ll prove it” and with that he put his hand on her face, placing his lips against hers.

“Yeah? So be it. I don’t want to do this anymore anyway.” He said letting the other ‘man-child’ take the basket and begin to walk forward. Somehow Grayson was able to compose himself much quicker and easier than Lucifer ever had, which was why Grayson was considered the more stable of the two. And even though Lucifer didn’t have anything else to yell about he couldn’t help but let his fit continue and he shoved Grayson just lightly, stomping in front of him and turning. “You’re such an asshole. And just so you know that ice cream is strictly mine and Hammy’s. You still have the half a tub of vanilla in the freezer.” He mocked back.

          --- “Just have to get the last jab in, don’t you” he rolled his eyes as Luc pushed past him “I don’t want your damn ice cream, I didn’t come here for fucking ice cream” his tone portrayed that he definitely had enough of Lucifer’s shit at this point. They walked over to the checkout and Grayson placed the two tubs of ice cream and a few dozen eggs on the belt, trying to smile at the lady but she was just staring at them, she’d probably heard them yelling, he was sure the whole damn store had, so he decided to have some fun with it. “Sorry for the commotion, my little love bug gets grumpy when he’s hungry” he turned to Luc with a grin on his face.

Each thing that Grayson said about Lucifer was a punch to the stomach and soon the man was just a huffing mess standing in the middle of the isle with a clenched jaw. “Shut the fuck up, asshloe or you’ll end up with a face full of eggs and your ass thrown down isle twelve.” He very well knew he was incapable of normal people duties but that was because his whole life he was given what he wanted. But he hated that it was being pointed out for everyone to hear. “Hammy needs food! You don’t understand what it’s like to be close to something like me and Hammy are because all you do is shove eggs down your throat and stare at the god damn mirror all day long!” This wouldn’t last long, they fought and ten minutes later acted like nothing happened. At least they were able to let their pent up anger out on each other and not end up hurt from it. As the woman slipped Lucifer the number he finally snapped at someone else. “Please! We aren’t fucking married!” He shouted now with all the attention of the store on them Lucifer turned to Grayson. “Do NOT say this is my fault! You just couldn’t help me pick the ice cream and started yelling. If anything it’s your fault!” 

        --- Grayson stood there, glaring at Lucifer as he threw a fit “you’re going to get us kicked out” he hissed through gritted teeth “look, you got your ice cream, can we just fucking leave, I do not need more people staring at us, you can be mad at me all you fucking want, but you’re terrible at shopping, so maybe just let me fucking do it, okay? good!” he grabbed the basket out of Lucifer’s hand and shot a grin over his shoulder at the elderly lady that was now gawking at them “come on dear, i’ll make you dinner” he called over his shoulder to Lucifer. Once Grayson had gotten his yelling out of his system he was usually good to go and back at annoying his best friend.
