Hey, I'm GrayToons. I mostly post Oswald The Lucky Rabbit content here since I mostly post Eddsworld Content on YouTube and all my other socials since I know people wouldn't care to see my non Eddsworld related artwork. So I wanted a platform where I can freely post Oswald stuff & meet new people XP

The live-action/animation hybrid "OSWALD THE LUCKY RABBIT" series by Jon Favreau will feature 2D animation at New York Toy Fair via Laughing Place.

"We've been working that, filming that and doing 2D animation."

he also provides us on his take on Oswald.

"Is bringing this character from 1927 and just looking back to the history but also updating it and introducing it to a new generation."

It honestly makes me happy that Oswald will be 2D Animated in show. And since this was at a toy fair, we could possibly get merchandise for the Series. 👀

2D Animated you say!? Now I'm less worried about the show, the animation was something I was really concerned about but I'm glad they're choosing to animate Oswald in 2D, now hopefully it's hand drawn animation but if it's rigged, as long as the animation is good that's fine with me. I still have questions and concerns relating to the show such as what the series is even about and will any other Oswald characters appear in the show, but I'm really glad to know that they're using 2D animation as opposed to 3D. Hopefully we get more good news soon and a teaser trailer soon.

Oswald the Lucky Rabbit 2025 Collab!

To celebrate the 15th anniversary of Epic Mickey’s release in North America, as well as a general love for Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, We recruited 23 artists to create their own unique interpretations of original Oswald the Lucky Rabbit shorts. Covering some of the most popular of his shorts to some of the lost shorts, our dedicated crew of artists made some spectacular work that we are ecstatic to share! The live-action/animation hybrid "OSWALD THE LUCKY RABBIT" series by Jon Favreau has completed filming via the Visual Effects Society.

"He recently completed principal photography for a series based on Oswald the Lucky Rabbit for Disney+."

The press release mentioning this detail dates back in October 7, 2025.

Cool, now can they finally tell us what this series is about so I can stop worrying whether or not this will be any good? I love Oswald but I still can't get over the fact the last Oswald series which was going to be entirely 2D animated got canceled, and now we're getting a live action animated hybrid Oswald series that's getting 3 episodes if I'm not mistaken, and we don't know if Oswald will be animated in 2D or 3D. I'll remain hopeful though.

Jon Favreau's "Oswald The Lucky Rabbit" Series Adds Jude Weng And Andy Jones As Directors.

"Oswald The Lucky Rabbit" series by Jon Favreau has added two new crew members as directors, Jude Weng (20th Television "Only Murders In The Building") and Andy Jones (James Cameron's "AVATAR") are set to direct some episodes of the animation/live-action hybrid series.

Plot details of the series are being kept under wraps with the only detail of the show being an animation/live-action hybrid similar to projects like ”Who Framed Roger Rabbit?“, "Looney Tunes: Back In Action” (2003), “Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers (2022)”and “Coyote Vs. ACME (2026)” and the axed HBO Max series“Tooned Out” & “Tweety Mysteries”.

The project is being done by Walt Disney Studios with Favreau as creator, executive producer and writter.

Every time I hear news regarding this it's always about what actors, writers or directors are apart of this series and never what the series is about. I heard there's only 3 episodes but which is already awful news depending on how long each episode is, wouldn't it make sense to make it a movie if we're not getting much from this series? I want to know what the series is about, who's voicing the toon characters assuming Oswald won't be the only toon character, I'm pretty sure David Errigo Jr is voicing Oswald. And I really want to know if Oswald will be animated in 2D or 3D and if it's 2D will it be hand drawn? that's been bugging me ever since the series was first revealed because I wanted an Oswald series that's entirely 2D animated, not some live action hybrid. I've always been more worried about this series than excited and so far that hasn't changed yet. I really hope this series will be good, I'm trying my best to remain optimistic about this.

The user WilliamOswald1 has found development art from the scrapped "OSWALD: THE LUCKY RABBIT" series by Matt Danner and Disney Digital Network Animation.

A live-action/animated hybrid series of the character by Jon Favreau is in the works at Walt Disney Studios for Disney+.

This makes me so happy finally getting to see more of what this series would've been ya'll don't understand how much this means to me, yet I'm so upset it never got to see the light of day. I seriously think the Oswald live action animated hybrid series currently in development will be inferior to this, but since that's the only Oswald series we'll likely get in a long time, I really hope it'll be great.

The Day The Earth Blew Up was AMAZING and I'm sure Coyote VS ACME will be tool, happy we're finally getting the movie. However I sure hope Coyote VS ACME will be marketed better than The Day The Earth Blew Up.
