What if Cronus had secretly fought Lord English and failed but managed to not be killed because Lord English was like “whatever, he’s not worth my time right now” and left him alive but bleeding and unconscious on the ground and Cronus woke up later with no one around and had to stumble his way back to his hive, clean himself up and try to deal with the fact that he just blew any chance they had of survival. And while he’s sitting at his desk, he sees Kankri on Trollian and tries to tell him, even drops his quirk to tell him what happened and is sincere in every word but Kankri doesn’t believe him and no matter whom else he tells they don’t believe him, except for Mituna (maybe, and only slighty) and then Meenah gets wind of it and promptly picks on him for it, telling him he needs to stop with this delusional BS but he’s being truthful this time and he just signs off and starts throwing things because he doesn’t know how else to tell them other than letting them see for themselves the damage he took, but they’d probably just tell him he inflicted it upon himself for attention.
