Only the manliest men ship themselves with the worst person they can think of
but seriously i'm highkey glad to see you, beach boys meant the world to me being raised by an og fan and have seen them live myself. what's the backstory of you getting into them, why that band of all bands?
HI!!! I’m glad to see you too, I missed seeing you and your stuff on my feed.
That’s a really good question. I actually wasn’t raised with the Beach Boys (or any classic rock for that matter), I found out who they were through either Full House or from the classic rock radio station that really brought me into the world of classic rock.
I actually have a character that I made around 2019 that was inspired by Dennis Wilson from the Beach Boys, his name’s Archie and he’s still around to this day. I’m bringing it up now because at this point, I knew of the Beach Boys but barely had any knowledge on them LMAO
Flash forward to about early 2021, I’ve been into the classic rock scene online for a long time at that point (primarily was obsessed with the Beatles!) and just kind of started getting obsessed with the Beach Boys sometime then. I genuinely could not tell you why I got obsessed with them, I have a feeling it’s because of my friend who drew a lot of Beach Boys fanart then, but it honestly could be something else.
I just really love the vibe of their music. Their earlier stuff brings me a lot of nostalgia with the way everything is arranged, their later stuff hits me a little too deeply. One example I can really think about right now is how the lyrics of ‘Here Today’ resonated with my most recent breakup (ironically, we started talking with each other because of our love for the Beach Boys, LOL), the lyrics really connected with the situation I was in but the way the song was played out was really cheery. There’s also a great community of people who love the Beach Boys, I met one of my closest friends and a lot of great people of all ages through them!
If you got through all my yapping, the attached drawing is your prize. I don’t have any other recent Beach Boys art to attach to this, so have this drawing I did of Archie and Carmilla from March. I think it really captures the vibe of the early Beach Boys that I really love. (even though this piece is inspired by Jan and Dean…)
(Also you sending these asks made me realize that I had an unanswered ask about Carmilla from somebody else from over 2 years ago… oops. If that person is still here, here’s your Carmilla content :D)
It’s been 3 years since I posted on here, huh? :,D
With the recent passing of Brian, and the impact that the Beach Boys had on me as a person, I decided to do a few drawings of him to really honor the impact he had on my life as a person and through his music.
The first drawing I did was the second one, I’m not the biggest fan of it because I don’t think it resembles him, but I wanted to draw it so I can practice drawing Brian again (and to have an excuse to draw him based on the Summer Days and Summer Nights photoshoot!).
The second drawing I did was the painting, I think that one does him justice and captures him perfectly.
Rest in Peace and Happy (belated) Birthday, Brian, thank you for everything.

My OCs, Carmilla and Danny, in a UPA/Hanna Barbera-inspired style created for future merchandising purposes.
Those pesky greasers.
I am only capable of producing art at 1 AM.
Anyways, here are the greasy boys rating Danny’s new leather jacket, giving him the seal of approval.
