As tacky as it sounds, never stop praying for your hopes and dreams. They just might come true when you least expect it.
On our first day back, me and Martha were still getting shoved around by the same people we attended kindergarten with, and just as I was about to give up on having a peaceful senior year, guess who had a change of heart when I bumped into them?
The Heathers.
Yes, the most popular trio of girls in my high school. I guess this proves there's good in all of us. Not only did I get to sit at their lunch table once, I'm expected to for the rest of the year. I've never been more excited to go to school. I want to jump up and down just thinking about it. On the downside though, talking is necessary now. And I have to forge notes for them.
They also let me join because they said I'm beautiful?! Or, they framed it in the sort of way where it's a potential thing that I'm not... reaching. But hearing those words directly from the mouth of a girl as stunning as Heather Chandler. . .
Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Veronica Sawyer, I'm 17. You're my (somewhat) new diary that has been sitting in a box for. . let's say a few months? I have more blank diaries than I have interesting events in my life. Maybe now that I'm with the Heathers I'll have more things to write about.
OOC + more under cut!!
୨ৎᝰ.ᐟ⋆˚ ꩜。hiii welcome to my awesome veronica sawyer roleplay blog i've been running for an entire year. goddamm . I'm not joking Veronica was the first ever character I roleplayed on tumblr and greasylittlenobodys first intro post ever was released on December 8th, 2024.
This blog is a reboot, her older (and older) blog can be found here: @greasylittlenobodyarchives . Nothing from that blog is cannon here anymore, (except for Melanie's existence) we might be following the same plot as last time, we might not, I'm not sure.
There's no particular plot or point in the timeline right now because this is a reboot.
Veronica's about post can be found here!

I'm okay with roleplays involving period typical homophobia/sexism but I draw the line at racism.
mod is a minor, so no NSFW please. Some sexual jokes are fine but if I get uncomfortable I will be drawing a line. (For reference, everything that was discussed/depicted in Heathers is okay)
Don't take anything I say literally on here ffs I'm roleplaying as a tired teenage girl from 1989 whatever Veronica says/does is not reflective of me as a person or whatever.
YOU CAN ROLEPLAY AS VERONICA'S INTERNAL VOICE THROUGH SUBMITTING ANON ASKS SENT IN BOLD. YES THIS CONTRIBUTES TO A LATER CHARACTER ARC SHE HAS. Just saying, Veronica MAY or MAY NOT have voices in her head. You can also specify if she's hearing a specific characters voice like Chandlers or J.D.'s
Feel free to drop this blog as a main for whatever reason, I won't take offense. At the end of the day we RP just to have fun and if I'm not giving you what you wanted or if you want another Veronica blog as a main, just drop me. Give me a heads up though so I can un-main your blog.
Please make sure we've interacted at least once or twice before being mains.

Veronica defeatedly stormed away from her so-called "friends." In all honesty, they felt more like. . . colleagues? Co workers? Members of some sort of high-profile gang which kept the hallways of Westerberg under their rule?
She frustratedly balled her fist. It's like their friendship was nothing! Veronica couldn't believe that they just pulled the old note trick on Martha. Her only friend since diapers. Weren't friends supposed to have each others backs? Why didn't she do anything while they set Martha up to be subjected to god-knows-what? And Martha, of all people? Veronica had more names of people at Westerberg who have it coming to them than fingers on her hands and toes on her feet.
But no, they had to do it to Martha. And now Veronica can't do anything but anticipate for the aftermath of Heathers prank, when Martha eventually gets served the painstaking reminder that in reality, nobody will ever love her. Least of all Ram Sweeney.
Veronica huffed, crossing her arms and looking around tentatively. She just wished that she could march up to the Heathers and give them a big fat middle finger to stick up their ass. Maybe then they'd have a reason for being such evil pricks.
Unfortunately, she didn't even have the guts to tell Martha the note was forged. Didn't have the strength to do anything but stand around.

J.D. had been lurking in the corner and observing the ordeal with curiosity. Something about the girl wearing blue made her stand out from her friends, maybe the way she’d stood up for who he assumed to be a common target for harassment in this school. His focus on the literature he’d once been absorbed in was lost, having moved to trying to figure out what this girls deal was.
He watched as she stormed away from her.. colorfully dressed group and sighed. He wasn’t sure why exactly he did it, but he found himself standing up to approach her. He walked over with a smirk on his face, pretending to still be reading as she ‘happened to’ walk past him.
“You shouldn’t have bowed down to the swatch dogs and diet-coke heads.” He chimed when she was close enough to hear, not bothering to look up from the passage he was reading. He licked his finger and turned the page. “They’re going to crush that girl.”
He awaited her response, his gaze flicking up a few times to study her expression.
Veronica paused, a voice derailing her wishful anger-fueled thought train. She was about to apprehend the stranger for belittling her, because she definitely did not need more arrogant pricks in her day right now, before it registered in her head. This voice was new.
She'd surely know, after repeatedly being hurled insults at by possibly every single passerby in her school.
She turned her head, surprised not by the fact that she was right about him being new, but by his entire. . get up. Bold trench-coat. His book he's definitely not hiding behind (and the book that jocks are just waiting for the chance to swipe away.) Him making backhanded comments at complete strangers. Strangers, who everyone knows is associated with the most popular girls in their high school. If that even means anything to him. Clearly not, considering how he seems to be above it all.
Westerberg rarely ever had new students that weren't freshmen, if at all. What was he doing in a town like this where everyone already knows everyone? Wearing that? Did he just turn to look at her? How very.. intriguing of him. . .
She came to a stop, and bluntly sputtered out in protest.
J.D. looked up from his book again as the girl in blue seemed to process what he’d just said. Her once irritated expression seemed to morph into excitement, then confusion.
He smirked at her anger and bewilderment, thinking that maybe she wasn’t used to being called out. Or maybe she was too accustomed to people trying to irritate her.
He chuckled and closed his book, now looking directly at her.
“Well, you’ve clearly got a soul. You just need to work harder keeping it clean.” He said while shrugging. “After all, We are all born marked for evil.”
He went quiet again, wondering if she’d recognize what he was quoting. He hoped she would, since that’d indicate that maybe she wasn’t as shallow as her little group seemed to be.
Veronica gave him a disgusted look in response to his smirk, furrowing her brows and scrunching her nose. Is being a shit-eater fun to this guy? It certainly was if he was giving her such a shit-eating grin.
Her frustration was immediately extinguished by the realisation that he was quoting Baudelaire to her. Her face flickered from one of distaste to one of confusion. Hey, at least this stranger had a good taste in books. Her face lit up, despite her she trying to mask her excitement. Be cool. Be cool. Okay.
“Okay, Charles Baudelaire.” She replied cooly, crossing her arms.
J.D. raised an eyebrow, surprised that his quote had been recognized. He opened his mouth to say something else, but was immediately cut off by an introduction. Veronica. Against his usual routine, he committed the name to memory. He’d found himself weirdly intrigued by this girl. What harm could one normal conversation do?
“Maybe I am, maybe I’m not.” He replied, deciding to keep up his usual mysterious facade. Is she actually interested? ..weird.
“I highly doubt you’ve seen everyone in the school, right? Why assume I’m new?”
He lifted his book back up, licking his finger again before opening it to where he’d left off. “Maybe I’ve been here for years.”
J.D. smirked, clearly pleased with himself after avoiding saying his name.
Veronica curiously watched the expressions on his face shift as he answered. She found his answer quite strange. Why is he being intentionally vague? Did she do something wrong? Was he judging her this whole time? He probably was, judging by his first words. Or maybe, he just found the fun in withholding answers. Fortunately for Veronica, she loved mysteries.
"Well, I'd usually assume so because this school is small enough that everyone pretty much knows everyone. You wouldn't normally think so, because everyone's more accustomed to calling each other slurs and insults instead of our actual names, but most of us have been grouped together since kindergarten. Kind of makes finding new friends tough." She answered, and continued. "The only new kids that come to this school are freshman. And you are definitely not a freshman." Veronica said matter-of-factly. She was confident he wasn't, unless he just somehow got a growth-spurt before he even started high school. (She shuddered, remembering the time she found out that two of the shortest boys in her grade had grown taller than her.) Plus, he seemed way too mature to be one. She could not recall a single boy during her middle school years who enjoyed picking up a book (Except for her eighth grade boyfriend). Hell, there were boys in her academic English class who didn't even pick up a book asides from book reports. Granted, she didn't talk to anyone besides Martha (and her eighth grade boyfriend who must not be brought up) during those times, but that was besides the point.
"Plus, with your whole rebel without a cause get-up, I doubt your going unnoticed for very long." She lazily pointed a finger at his trench coat, smirking. "So, yooouu're definitely new. Did you move here? Got a permanent suspension from another school? If it's Jefferson, you probably want to make sure nobody finds out." She added, subconsciously hoping she was right.
Veronica defeatedly stormed away from her so-called "friends." In all honesty, they felt more like. . . colleagues? Co workers? Members of some sort of high-profile gang which kept the hallways of Westerberg under their rule?

Based primarily off of the 2014 offbroadway script + the LA script (version of the musical before release) + winona ryders version in the movie. basically old veronica
This Veronica is a mix of the offbroadway musical and movie Veronica, if you want to reference events from those script you can.
"17. Burns to be both cool and kind, but doesn't yet know how to be both at the same time. Fierce sense of right and wrong, keen sense of ironic humor. Thinks she's an old soul, but she's still innocent enough to be blindsided by love or shocked by cruelty."
- Official casting notes for Veronica.
Core beliefs: I am a good person. Everyone can do good, it's just easier to do bad. Everyone in this school is kind of insane, I must be the only sane person here. People are more complex than what they let on. I'm smart.
Headcannon dump:
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ Doesn't mention she's bisexual but she also isn't ashamed of being into girls. 🫰🫰🫣🫣🤭 She'd probably be into Chandler if she could deal with her bitchiness (Her and Chandler have frenemies status for now). She thinks she likes dangerous-ish partners because otherwise their relationship would be boring, up until she gets an actual dangerous partner and just wishes to have a normal relationship with them.
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ Was bullied by Kurt, Ram, and other students all throughout middleschool and highschool. When she became a Heather, they decided to completely forget about how they treated her beforehand. She finds it pathetic, but she's not the type to hold grudges.
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ Her life before becoming a Heather was boring. Insanely boring. Even her relationship with her only friends (Martha and Betty) felt like it was starting to get stale. Same old movie nights with the same movie every time. Her life mostly revolved around waiting for Colleges to start accepting, reading, and studying.
Veronica fell for Heathers propaganda hard. The way that the Heathers romanticized their lifestyle. The way they seemed to have a perfect life. The way Veronica couldn't tell if she wanted the Heathers as a friend or a fuck. When given the chance to join them, she couldn't believe it was actually happening.
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ She's a night owl and stays up for various reasons. Whether it be being kept up by her thoughts, being dragged to parties by the Heathers, studying, reading, writing in her diary, working on a school project last minute, staying up with Martha at a sleepover. This is why she functions on coffee too.
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ She has a freshman sister named Melanie (Melanie pls come home) Melanie was the problem child out of the two as a kid, and Veronica often had to watch over Melanie.
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ Has a lot of cheaply manufactured junk pens that have business logos slapped onto them. She's not picky with what she uses to write and only gets fancy pens as gifts for her birthday or Christmas. She also has an entire box of diaries that are already full or completely empty.
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ Veronica reads as a summer birthday kid to me. Maybe june/july/august idk mod doesn't know LOL. Born in 1972
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ She has dark brown hair, but when she got with the Heathers, they made her dye it brunette. (Think of the differences between the hair color that barrett/winona ryder has and the color of Veronicas wig in the offbroadway show)
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ As a kid, she developed a lazy eye that went untreated, which is why she needs her monocle to write. Got into the habit of having large handwriting so she can still read when she doesn't have her monocle on her.
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ Although her relationship with her parents is tight knit and includes many warm memories and inside jokes, they practiced tough love on her in order to develop her into a independent and self-sufficient woman. This has went as well as it could possibly go, because Veronica was not in need of extra assistance as a child. She even excelled beyond her peers, doing so exceptionally well in school that they offered to move her to a higher grade. However, her parents often disregard her issues, expecting her to deal with it by herself.
Her families also christian IDK where to include this (mod does not come from a christian family so I may get some things innacurate IDK)
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ Her parents encouraged her love for reading. She might not have the same taste in books as her father, but both of them are unable to put a book down because they find themselves too engrossed in it. For a lot of her childhood, she'd spend hours in the library with Betty or Martha. Books made her life seem way less boring. (Her father is not allowed to buy her books for Christmas because their tastes end up clashing + Veronica pretends she has a really sophisticated taste but she'll end up reading anything as long as it's not a another Tom Clancy spy novel.)
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ She knows how to do calligraphy. She probably does fancy calligraphy notes of Baudelaire quotes for J.D., or out of pocket things that Heather Chandler has said for her friends. (Yes she has calligraphed Fuck Me Gently With A Chainsaw. And probably the first-ish words J.D. said to her also, "We're all born marked for evil")
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ She used to have a dog because her and Melanie begged for a pet as a kid. Her parents eventually got one despite not wanting to because a family friend who had a puppy they couldn't take care of passed it to them. Her parents absolutely hated taking care of the puppy, and so did Veronica because she kicked it on numerous occasions when nobody was looking. They eventually got rid of the dog and settled for a cat because it seemed like a "low maintenance pet"
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ She has a brown tabby cat named JFK ᓚᘏᗢ (After the president, because her parents are quite patriotic. Veronica and Melanie wanted to name the cat something else)
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ Veronica has sectoral heterochromia because the mod couldn't decide whether on giving Veronica blue eyes or brown eyes.
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ Veronica does weed and other substances at parties, but only ones with Westerberg high students (she doesn't feel safe doing so otherwise). Parties to her are escapism often times, because she can get her hands on alcohol and drugs that let her forget her worries and just unwind. She will probably come home high one day. She's a wild party animal too, who shows a much more bolder and free side of herself.
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ Gets called Ronnie by her old friends. She isn't one for nicknames from people she's not close with, and she especially hates it when she's called "Ronica" or any other variant of her name shortened.
for our love of god do not shorten her name to NICA I have read so many ao3 fanfics where the author shortens Veronicas name into "nica" and I don't know how the fact that nica sounds like a certain racial slur FLIES over their head during the editing process. sorry this is just a pet peeve I have with heathers fics LMAOAOAAO
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ Her worries seep into her dreams often times. She has nightmares of various scenarios where she's in a very compromising position. They often revolve around her insecurities and her fears about her relationships. She doesn't log them in her diary at first because she thinks writing about them is "hippy dippy bullshit" but as they become more frequent she does. She's also very persuaded by fear.
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ Has a weak stomach for handling alcohol. and for flirting with JD too that man can turn her entire digestive system upside down
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ Probably starts experiencing with her style and self of self after getting kicked from the heathers. Jean jackets and skirts (trust me with this one). For a while, she still wears her blazer to school to pretend everything is fine (and because she regrets throwing away and replacing half of her wardrobe after becoming a Heather) until she decides that she's going to become her own thing.
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ She could stare at a flame for hours on end. Something about fire just entrances her, no matter how bright it hurts to look at. She collects candles, not for their scents but because the vibe it gives off in a room when the room is mostly dark and the candles are lit. She has definitely studied only by candlelight before.
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ Doesn't believe she's as brave or as strong as she needs to be but she actually has balls of steel. Call her a man the way she has the balls to bring a croquet mallet to a gunfight.
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ Has never left America, since she has no relatives outside of it. Her parents also don't see the reason on travelling outside the country. Paris is her dream vacation spot, and she's taking French classes in hopes that she travels there one day.
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ She's easy to buy birthday/Christmas gifts for because she isn't the one to keep up with fashion catalogues that make her write an extremely long list, and also because her parents just settle on getting her a new diary every year and replenishing her school supplies, as well as some new books.
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ Accidentally broke her mothers vase when she was younger because she got mad and threw her diary at it, knocking it over. This did not resolve her reckless habit of throwing her diary when she's upset, though.
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ She loved the color blue before becoming a Heather, but now it's somewhat ruined to her because of the entire Heathers thing...
That's mostly it I cannot think of anything else to add LOL.

This has went as well as it could possibly go, because Veronica was not in need of extra assistance as a child. She even excelled beyond her peers, doing so exceptionally well in school that they offered to move her to a higher grade. She opts to solve problems by herself instead of asking for help because of this, even if it's too challenging for her. She's stubbornly determined to stay witty, smart, and self-reliant.
Her parents often disregard her issues at worst and don't spot them at best, expecting her to deal with it by herself.
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ Doesn't believe she's as brave because all of the times she's stood up for someone, she ended up getting laughed at or ridiculed. She can have the guts to defend herself, but not the guts to stand up for what she thinks is right.
Speaking of what she thinks is right or wrong, she's more steered by logical thinking than a moral code or emotions. She told Martha the truth, only to protect J.D. She agreed to J.D's plan, only because she wanted to serve revenge.
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ Before becoming a Heather, she didn't really fit into any social groups. As a result, Veronica didn't get the experiences that molded the other kids into their high school stereotype. This ended up giving the Heathers a "blank slate" to work with when having Veronica join their group.
Veronica fully embraced being a Heather. She finally fit into the high school hierarchy instead of being a greasy little nobody. When Veronica broke up from the Heathers, she had no clue who or what she was anymore. Part of her eagerness to apologize to Heather Chandler stemmed from her desperateness to be someone again. To get her only identity that mattered back.
✎ ⋆⑅˚₊ She drives a car. vroom vroom.
That's mostly it I cannot think of anything else to add LOL.
