introductions!

to start this off hi I'm Arda but you can call me ceecee or cw idm!

this is my writing blog for a fan fiction I'm working on called TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES: Curse Of The Dullahan, Ceann Tornapa

the story follows Eden an Irish witch who has recently moved to New York with her maternal grandmother Ester, her aunt Margo and her cousin Mairead to aid in the search for a book of shadows that contains an entity that has haunted the women of their bloodline for around 200 years but things get complicated when Eden meets a certain group of quadruplet mutant turtles and their two human friends and allies, Casey Jones and April O'Neil. The group thinks she's a non-fighter. She didn't correct them. Now Eden has to balance school, her mission, her blossoming friendships, her developing feelings for a certain blue masked terrapin and ensuring that the entity doesn't escape.

I wanted to incorporate my country's folklore since I think it's super interesting and I feel like it fits into the world of TMNT very well! the story takes place in the 2012 universe and is in its early stages of development [planning, doing research, formatting etc] I've finished the draft for pre-season one and season one's draft is currently being written!! I'll post bits and pieces on here when I have them.

I'm not sure if this is gonna go anywhere since I tend to get distracted by my other special interests BUT I'm gonna keep going with this for as long as possible I hope you enjoy :3

Extra facts and lore Part 1:

Tw: death

Serious is a black Irish Wolfhound and showed up to Eden's grandparents house a few months before she was born.

Eden's mums full name is Fiadh Jean Heany. The 'Jean' part of Fiadh's name was inspired by the song Billie Jean by Michael Jackson.

During their time at the farmhouse Mikey develops a love for tracking and later joins Eden, Ester and ghost grandma Eileen in the search for Ceann Tornapa alongside his brother Donnatello and April.

The last name 'Heany' actually means Horseman which I found quite fitting as it's a call back to the 'dullahan' also known as the headless horseman in English.

The name 'Ceann Tornapa' roughly translates to 'Turnip Head' which is what the turtles and Casey [mainly Casey] call Ciarán to piss him off.

The weapon Ciarán uses to kill Eileen was an agricultural scythe used to cut hay on the farm they lived on with their two children Patrick and Grace and occasionally Eileen's sister Ellen who was a keening woman.

For those who don't know or aren't familiar with Irish history a keening woman was a woman who paid respect to the deceased and grieved on the families behalf. They were often described as wild, un kept and barefoot. The human equivalent to a banshee is how they were described. Most of the time keening women worked in groups standing around the body of the person who died, raise their arms above their heads and start to weep. It was eventually outlawed by the Church.

Eden actually met Mikey and Donnie a few days after their 15th birthday when Donnie launched Mikey into Eden's apartment complex's yard searching for Snake. The volume of the impact woke Serious and prompted her to go check it out. Her and Mikey got to chatting and quickly became fast friends. The other brothers wouldn't meet Eden until the Season 1 Episode 'New Friend, Old Enemy'.

The scythe is kept in a magic journal called 'an leabhar gan deireach' or 'the book with no end' in English (these translations might not be totally correct I was shit at Irish in school ( ・ε・)

The name 'Heany' is pronounced [Hee-nee]
