Polka dots?
*Smooches* Thank you, my dear.
Mmhmmm. /Raises her eyebrows, patting his cheek./ Anything to keep you happy, mm?
Do you also have any romantic interest in women?
Not currently. I've had feelings for a woman before, but that was a long, long time ago.Â
Very happy.
Sigh...
Alright.
…If you won’t wear the sweater, will you at least wear the tie?
Will it make you happy if I do?
But Rosalind! This is our first Christmas as husband and wife. That’s cause for celebration—even if it’s a month early.
And we will celebrate, when the holiday manages to actually come rolling-around.
Oh, really? Well I certainly can’t tell…
No, because you're too busy trying to get me to be festive where it isn't necessary to see it, I'd presume.
Yes, but I’m sure we can take one day out of the year to have fun.
I have fun, without the need for gaudy sweaters and ornaments, thank you.
Then I suppose you will be spending this holiday alone in the laboratory while the children and I celebrate the joy of Christmas?
I'm not one for festivities. You know that. We have a lot of work to do.
robertbloodylutece replied to your post: ;
Rosalind, please. Just this once.
Absolutely not.
;
Not at all! Believe me, if I wrote down every time you teased me, I would have made a best-selling novel. *They reach their bedroom, which was in a mild state of disarray. It came with being two workaholic physicists with little care for the appearance of where they slept. He unbuttons his white shirt, tossing it on the bed and yawning tiredly* I suppose you’re right. And I certainly don’t mind taking care of you. I get the loveliest gifts in return.
Of course. It'd sell specifically to those who live to spite me and toss dirt on my reputation, you know. /She trots over to calmly pat his bare chest, before she removed her blazer, setting it down on the bedside table, unbuttoning the clasps on her sleeves to roll them neatly to her elbows./ Gifts? I don't remember making purchases in specifics. Do you care to enlighten me, dearest?
Yes, yes. I remember—you would never let me forget. *He continues walking. Although they ascended the stairs at the same pace, he could differentiate between their footsteps. His were heavier.* You’re beginning to make me out as a child, my dear Rosalind. I am not that helpless.
Oh, come now. I don't tease you that much. Surely you're over-exaggerating. /She chuckles even so, her heels clicking carefully on the carpeted stairs as they walked./ Mm, not really helpless, but you're certainly very dependent on me nowadays. However, I am with you as well. Equal trade, I'd believe.
*He chuckles against her lips, surprised that she would admit to liking him in such a scruffy state. Then again, he had always looked a bit handsome appearing like a ruffian* Well alright—if you must insist. *He takes her hand and begins to the trek upstairs, pausing only to stare at her worriedly* You purchased the other shaving cream, correct? The last one gave me a horrid rash. Could hardly focus with that insatiable itch crawling across my jaw.
/She squeezes his hand gently, eyebrows raised./ You'll thank me for it, you know. You have a bit of a poor time evening-out your face. /She snickers, following along behind him up the stares. When he stops, she does as well, not missing a beat./ ..Oh, yes. I did. You made sure to write it down for me whilst scratching at your patchy, half-shaven mess. Which I then corrected. Remember?
Although my reputation may suggest someone with an inability to work longer than an hour, I do get work done, my dear. Trust me. *Robert regards her with a look of fondness, smiling. Then, he rubs his jaw with one hand, sticking the other in his pocket* Right, well, you are probably right. But first I must deal with my unfortunate hair growth. I’m afraid I’ve let the jaw go a bit fuzzy for too long. Is there anything you need help with before I go and take care of it?
/Rosalind tucks the small journal into the breastpocket of her blazer and hums in acknowledgement, before bringing her hands along to cup his scruffy cheeks, one thumb stroking the expanse of skin under his eye./ I quite like it, actually. But if we're to maintain a business-like reputation, it's probably for the best that you part ways with it. /She leans on her tiptoes, giving him a chaste kiss./ Mm. I should only ask that I accompany you. You have a habit of nicking your jaws when you shave. And giving yourself unfortunate sideburns.
*The man heaves a sigh and leans into the hand, turning to press his forehead against the side of her head* That would be…the better decision. I apologize for my outbursts as of late. *He runs a hand through his hair, although it was a mess already* I left notes in my journal for you—…where on Earth did I put it. Hold on, I thought it was right here. *He fumbles through his pockets before suddenly storming from the kitchen, making a mess of his desk until—* Ah! Here. *He hands a small black journal to the woman, smiling tiredly* That should be of some help.
/She stood in the same place, one eyebrow quirked in amusement. Despite him being incredibly cranky from lack of sleep, he was still just as amusing as he was when he was well-rested. She took the journal, glancing at it curiously./ So, you've been getting to work? I'd have to admit, that's a bit surprising. Even so, you should get some sleep. You can fix whatever you need to when you wake-up.
I would like to fix it, but in order to thaw, I would have to acquire hot water. And the source of the hot water is currently out of order! *In frustration, he kicks the sink, but ends up falling flat on his back. He groans and rubs a hand down his face as he gets up* I…I will admit that I have not been sleeping well. At all. May explain my temper.
/She remained unfazed, but reached-out to rub his back gently, gliding her nearly-blunt fingernails along the ridge of his spine./ You need to sleep more, then. We can't get any work done if you're raring your temper and falling all over herself. /She had a hard time taking her own advice, in that aspect, however./ Perhaps you should lay down for a while, mm?
