Behind every photo, there is always a short story :)Â
Burano, Italy. Often confused with Venice, but still a beautiful and magnificent place nonetheless. It is a quaint island in the Northern Venetian Lagoon. A hideaway used by the Romans, now a fishing village. But doesn’t it still look like a haven? The multi-colored houses. The green, the blue, the red, the pink, illuminated by the sunlight, side by side, forever trailing by the river, never quite touching it. A sort of fortress but not the rigid castles of the Middle Ages. Not the turrets with archers and swordsmen guarding them by candlelight. No, this is a fortress but a display of beauty, the river reflected by the still boats, couples walking hand in hand down the walkway, the laughs of children resonating throughout the village. This is a retreat. Not a fortress. Behold Burano.Â
