One thing about having “paranoid” in your chart is that you will never be believed about anything ever again.

Report a doctor for malpractice - they didn’t actually do that you’re just paranoid. Doesn’t matter if you actually have evidence it’s dismissed immediately they never even read the evidence.

This also affects POC more harshly as very real incidents of racism even violent ones will be dismissed under the “paranoid” label. POC are also more likely to get labeled paranoid by psych for talking about the very real and literal discrimination that they are experiencing.

Mudslinging political ads should be banned. Like, IDGAF about the petty angry bullshit Jay Jones said over text message 3 years ago, what are YOUR political positions? Also I think it’s so funny that mudslinging is currently a predominantly Republican tactic because Democrats are well aware the right’s voter base has absolutely no moral backbone and would not care if an official wished death on their opponents. All of the political ads for Democrats I keep getting are like “Vote for me and I will fund education and protect abortion rights, those are two of my major goals.” and all the ads for Republicans are like “YOU HAVE TO VOTE FOR ME BECAUSE THE OTHER GUY WANTS TO GIVE YOUR CHILD A SEX CHANGE WITH A RUSTY BOXCUTTER AND ALLOW ILLEGAL ALIENS TO LIVE IN YOUR HOUSEEEEEE. Instead of True Crime, there should be a genre called True Law. everyone researches heinous acts of cruelty that were entirely, perfectly legal & sanctioned by the governments of their countries. Instead of True Crime’s freakish eugenicist obsession with “The Criminal Mind” (as if “criminals” are a biologically different species) —-the True Law podcasters could describe horrific acts of violence committed by police officers & prison guards & soldiers &etc, and breathlessly attempt to understand the twisted mysteries of “The Legal Mind.” It’s necessary, for Equality

“I don’t know how to reconcile that my favorite piece of media was made by someone awful.” Because they’re a shitty person who made something good. It’s not that rare of a phenomenon. Shitty people make good things everyday. A piece of art being made by a terrible person does not make its effect null and void and making good art does not redeem a terrible person. People who are irredeemably nasty can say something true and honest on occasion. To reevaluate a work after finding out more about the artist’s horrendous biases and actions and still find things that are honest and true even when consuming it through a critical lens, that is a beautiful thing. If the artist’s actions and words completely destroy it for you and distort the meaning you once found, it’s okay to feel a sense of mourning and loss at that.

This is not to say that you should continue to lavish social and financial capital on the artist because you enjoy their art but to say that enjoying art made by horrible people does not mean you are in some way unclean.
