Week I don't even know
Honestly mentally I cannot handle posting on Tumblr, Dealing with AP Classes, after school activities, and my personal life at the same time though i love posting on Tumblr.
My life has been shit lately and I'm super depressed. I'm just ready to graduate HS and move away.... Honestly tired of everything my Tumblr dudes

Weeks 9-12
A busy few weeks that seemed to blur together. What can I remember though?
I've been working on science fair for AP Chemistry.
AP Seminar has sucked and I'm really wanting to drop the class.
Tech Theatre 2 has been good, I made a pagaent wagon.
AP Governmet is good, but I have a research paper due on the 7th that I don't agree with prompt, making it difficult to write.
AP Literature and Composition has been going well. We've ready Othello (an old favorite), Macbeth, and Hamlet so far this 9 weeks.
Drama Club has been good, as we finished performing our first show. We're now getting ready for One Acts, Individual Events, and our Children's Show.
Also I'm excited to get the Shane Dawson x Jeffree Star collab in the future

Week 8
Homecoming week. I saw lots of school spirit and a lot of distractions this week.
In AP Chem we did some notes and some quizzes, but it was very simple, laid back stuff for the most part. Honestly, I still have trouble understanding how to apply the information I've learned and it makes me feel big dumb.
In AP Seminar I put off doing my IRR because I continued to get distracted in class and at home, so I had to stay up until midnight on Friday to get the IRR done and turned in on time.
Tech Theatre has been real simple this week, just working on some publicity design stuff.
In AP Gov we finished a chapter's notes, and then did FRQs on Friday when the teacher was out of town.
In AP Lit we read Beowulf, which was an interesting read. I lowkey bombed the quiz but I'm not really surprised...
On Wednesday night I made pumpkin snickerdoodles, which were delicious.
On Thursday, I skipped school bc it was Woodhauling, a senior tradition. I personally didn't woodhaul, so I stayed home and got some sleep. That afternoon, I rode in the homecoming parade by myself, which was fun. The little kids watching and waving were very cute. We then made our way to the pep rally, where I got to hang out with friends. At about 7:45 the seniors made their way to the street where we could be up close and watch the fire be lit. It was so hot people had to go back to the track after a while and you could even feel the heat from across the street.

Week 7
For AP Chem, I've been making up work and it has helped my grade, but I still have a little more work to do. I turn in my forms for my last ever science fair project tomorrow. My last lab write up of the nine weeks will be finished by tomorrow too.
For AP Seminar our class won cupcakes for this upcoming week. We've been working on our new REHUGOs topics and our IRRs. I'm nervous about those but also excited.
For Tech Theatre we're still reviewing basics about the theatre for all the new students since Tech Theatre 1 and 2 are during the same time.
In AP Gov I have sime assignments due this upcoming week that were assigned, and I feel confident about them. We have talked quite alot about Pelosi and Trump's impeachment this week.
In AP Lit my teacher was super nice and let me borrow a copy of the entire collection of Poe's works. I have a quiz I have to finish from two weeks ago but I'll do it tomorrow after my other quiz probably. We read "Heart of Darkness" last week and this week we're reading "Beowulf". I need to get my grade up just the slightest but I believe I can do it.
This week began fall and I was excited to wear some fall style clothes, which I decided to include in my pics. We also had our second pep rally so that was a fun time with friends. I began to listen to the OBCR of Beetlejuice to get me in the sppoky vibe.

Weeks 4-6
Weeks 4 and 5 were very short for me. Week 4 was cut by 3 days due to Dorian. The teachers and us students had to recoup and reschedule the plans we had. Thursday and Friday were still productive though.
Week 5 was cut short by an early release day and a teacher work day. We got mostly catched up on work and continued as normal. I did a mock AP test in AP Gov and did pretty good. On Thursday we had a club fair, and I represented the Environmental Club, which my friend founded. My friends and I all had conflicts on the tables we needed to run, but we figured it out and had a good time.
Week 6 was kinda hectic but good. Had some stuff go down, some drama, but I overcame it. Drama started rehearsals this week, we've been productive with that so far. I was produtive with my classes, turning in a bunch of assignments. We did a long lab in AP Chemistry, taking up 3 days, and did a mock AP exam. I had two presentations on Wednesday, one unexpectedly, but I felt pretty good about both, even though I was nervous and anxious.

Yes my dudes I know this is a late post for my week 3 update.
Monday was a nice, easy day but still full of learning.
Tuesday I had a doctor's appointment and missed the first two classes of the day and part of the third class. I finished most of the work that I needed to make-up but I just habe a few things I want to ask my teacher before I turn in the rest.
Redid a test I did poorly Wednesday afternoon and I feel really good about the redo. Then I helped the local middle school with their first drama club meeting of the year after.
Thursday was the first set of auditions for the school year, for our fall show that's actually 3 one acts combined as one show. An NHS meeting was also supposed to happen but that got cancelled last minute.
Friday a lot of people didn't show up because of Dorian, and most of the teachers didn't do much in their classes. Except in AP Chem, where we did a Flame Test Lab and then worked on some labs.
Pretty good week. I still need to finish some homework before we go back on Thursday though (I know, I've been slacking).

A good week on my part.
Second week of school. Went to the first football game of the season to work concessions. Drama club decided we're not doing concessions anymore today so the only other game I'll probably go to is the Homecoming game. At least I won't have to watch the team lose every game. Drama club also started selling lollipops 🍭 as a fundraiser, we started with 12 boxes of 640 lollipops each, and now we're down to five boxes after 5 days.
I have been super productive with my classes, continuing to review and do almost daily labs in AP Chemistry, taking a bunch of quizzes in AP Lang, learning new things in AP Seminar and AP Government. In Tech Theatre 2 (my 5th theatre credit- meaning medallion for graduation- and probably 11th extracurricular credit) we have been reviewing the basics for the kids in Tech Theatre 1 and also have been tossing disgusting, old stuff from our outside storage.
At home I've been spending time with my cat as I do homework and before bed, and cleaning my room more and more (I still have 5 bags and a box of stuff to give to Goodwill, and a bunch of art stuff to give to a friend who will appreciate the new stuff like I haven't been able to). My next project for my room is going to be building a bookshelf with my dad for (duh) all my books (but also for some momentos).
9 ways to create hygge while studying
Hygge is the Danish concept of coziness, simplicity, happiness, and well-being. I like to think of it as the feeling of curling up with a good book by a fireplace with a big cup of your favorite hot tea.
I’ve recently been really fascinated by the concept of hygge, and I’ve been incorporating it more into my daily life. Since school is starting soon (and for many of you it already has started!), I wanted to make a nice list of some ways we can incorporate this wonderful concept of hygge into our lives as students!
Set the lighting. Candles and string lights are very hygge, but sometimes they aren’t enough light to study by. Dimmer and warmer lighting is best, but make sure it’s not so dim that it strains your eyes! Natural light can also be pretty good for hygge if you’re studying during the day!
Put a throw blanket on the back of your chair. If it’s chilly, you could also have an extra blanket on your lap to really add to the coziness
Have a warm drink close by. I really like un-caffeinated herbal tea! Hot cocoa is also a great choice!
Turn on some relaxing instrumental music (if you like to listen to music while studying). I really like the music by Paul Cardall in particular!
Wear comfortable clothes. Pajamas are not always the best for studying since they can subconsciously make you more tired, so wearing some more comfortable clothes that aren’t just your pajamas is the best choice!
Wear some cozy socks or slippers! I especially love wearing fuzzy socks while studying
Have some snacks ready. Baked goods are very hygge, but anything that you love eating can work just as well!
Use your favorite stationery! It can make such a difference to actually use your favorite things, and it can make studying a lot more enjoyable
Work alongside a friend or a pet, if possible. A major aspect of hygge is friendship and family, and studying feels way more fun if you’re sharing it with someone. Alternatively, cuddling with a pet can be very relaxing and cozy

The first week of stressful but honestly I wouldn't have it any other way.
I had a lab and homework on the first day of school (AP Chem). Honestly I wasn't happy about it but I think it was a good thing since it put me into the right mindset and gave me the right work initiative for the year. Just really productive ya know?
The other AP classes (AP Seminar, AP Government, AP Macroeconomics, and AP Literature and Composition) are stressful too but at least I know my brain is growing and improving everyday.
Getting to spend time with friends has been great after almost 3 months. Makes me happy as heck.
I got a bunch of clubs, some have already started and some are going to start soon. It'll be nice to do activities I love (Drama) and help serve the community (NHS, Beta, Key, S.W.A.T., Crime Stoppers, and Environmental Club).
Also I'm thinking about joining Mock U.N.? I feel like that would be fun too.

Thanks for the information!!
What do you suggest for the beginning of the school year - organization, getting set up, studying, homework, any advice, tips and tricks, or help you've got would be great, thanks!
my suggestions for the beginning of the school year might sound pretty heavy, but if you’re on top of things, it will make things for yourself so much easier for the entire year !
organization:-have all of your supplies bought before the first day of school, extras are highly encouraged for later use-arrange your pencil pouch, items, backpack, lunchbox, clothing, and first-day essentials the day before (this goes for everyday, not just the first day)-doesn’t have to be an official planner, but have a notebook or a convenient place to note all of your upcoming assignments -read the syllabus if it’s provided and mark down important dates in your calendar-file any notes you think will be helpful in your backpack for quick read-overs-pack snacks, water, and necessities (perfume, pads, gum, comb, deodorant)
get set up:-clean up your laptop/ipad/device. get rid of unnecessary files, screenshots, unfiled documents, anything that is in disarray -download any programs or apps (word, pages, photomath) you’ll need !-find all of your classes before you go to school so that you aren’t running late because you can’t find any of the classes-make sure everything is completely charged–this includes your calculators !!-if your lunch time or free time is later than your usual eating time, plan snacking times !!-make sure you have an area where you will be able to study well for the year–set up your desk space with all stationary, good lighting, and plugpoints so you can have productive periods of studying studying:-flash cards and quizlets are good for memorization–good for chemistry formulas, structures, biology terminology, engineering equations, computer science commands, etc-notes are good for revision–don’t rewrite notes if it doesn’t help you. instead, go back and highlight concepts your teacher emphasized, words you need to revise, or possible test questions-annotate your textbook margins/write notes if your teacher uses the textbook, skim the book if your teacher doesn’t use it. there’s always going to be some sort of knowledge reinforcement on top of the lecture-pay attention to lecture and focus on getting down explanations your teacher gives–if your notes are uploaded, add to the notes, don’t rewrite what’s already been written-do it in reasonable time blocks–don’t study of 15 minutes and call it a day, but don’t certainly sit for hours at a time. 1-1.5 hours with a small break in between is quite healthy and best for knowledge retainment -please revise your previous day’s studied material. it sticks so much better, even if the revision time is a five minutes worth of skimming
homework:-if you get a small assignment, get it done immediately. small packet work that will be easily completed within 10-20 minutes is easy points and quick work that can be put aside, even if it’s due next week-plan assignments in small increments if they’re long so that you don’t have to cram-break apart essay writing into different days, BUT ALWAYS READ WHAT YOU’VE WRITTEN BEFORE STARTING AGAIN–otherwise you run the risk of repeating information -revise all of your work before handing in assignments that are being graded for content and not completion-write your full name and the date if your teacher wants you to-contact your teacher or friends if homework is a struggle because homework usually prepares you for any sort of application on the exam-use your homework as a basis of your exam studying material
advice, tips, tricks, help:-planning ahead of time is really important for stress-free work completion -try to attend one campus/school event per week and keep time daily for revision -school isn’t your entire life so do not prioritize your health over studies -getting off on a bad start shouldn’t push your productivity to next year START AS SOON AS YOU REALIZE YOU’VE HAD A BAD START-get your devices fixed as soon as they show problems–broken keys can prevent you from writing an essay as quickly and productively as you do-sick days should be full of sleep, hydration, and relaxation–if you find that you can go out and do strenuous activities, try your hardest to get maximum 1 hour of school work done OTHERWISE SCHOOL CAN WAIT-teachers who are nice should be used as helping tools. scary teachers should be avoided and in this case, find upperclassmen who are willing to help-free tutors on campus are SUPER HELPFUL GO AND GET THEIR ADVICE-office hours can double as lunch/dinner time and also help gain a friend/elderly figure for socialization and future letters of recommendations -talk to staff for community opportunities -ask people for their success stories–even if it’s “i stopped playing video games during class and now i know the lecture material so well” it is emphasizing the importance of the lecture material -DO NOT CHEAT ON EXAMS AND HOMEWORK-easybib is your friend and so is slader-have friends peer review and edit-watch your physical and mental health -keep time for physical activity -keep time for hobbies and relaxation-shower-if you’re running late to class, STILL GO it’s better to know half the material than none of it-on lab days, wear close-toed shoes and non revealing clothing because you run the risk of not always being able to change into appropriate clothing

tips for high school seniors!
hi hi! recent hs grad here. as the fall rolls in, i wish all of my rising seniors good luck! hopefully this will help to make your year a bit smoother.
do your college applications as soon as possible. start them in the summer/as soon as they open. definitely don’t put off your essays until the last minute; this happened to a lot of my friends and it was super stressful. this also ensures that you have time to finish multiple drafts of essays before they’re due (quality of essays will be better).
the first semester is going to be the worst. keeping a planner is vital to being successful in this time because there is so much going on, especially if you’re applying for college! even having a random piece of paper where you list your to-dos is better than nothing.
DON’T FALL INTO THE COMPETITION TRAP. sometimes it feels like everyone in high school is trying to brag about how little sleep they get, how late they do homework, how last-minute their assignments are. okay, this really isn’t cool for any part of high school, but it especially isn’t good for senior year! while being timely and finishing things early doesn’t sound as exciting as pulling an all-nighter, it’s obvious which one is better for your physical and mental health. make the right choices for yourself and don’t encourage this type of conversation.
talk to your teachers. in my experience, teachers with senior students are more likely to be understanding about all of your stress because they know that their students are busy applying for college, trade school, or just with life in general. if you communicate well then teachers will be more likely to be more forgiving about deadlines and assignments.
don’t slack off. this one is obvious, but a lot of kids try to say that senior year means nothing. this is not true. your first semester grades will be looked at by colleges and if you fail any mandatory classes you can get rescinded or not graduate. be consistent about your studying and grades at least in the first half of the year because seniorities will absolutely crush you and take over your body second semester.
but.. do relax. even if you do have to keep up your grades, the energy you give doesn’t have to be the same as, say, your junior or sophomore year. you’ve taken your SATS, you’ve gotten used to AP tests, whatever. you can chill just a little and make time for fun so long as you stay in control of your academic situation.
senioritis is a thing! it’s okay to succumb to it sometimes. there are going to be days when you decide to stay home and skip class. but, like i mentioned above, make sure you don’t stop doing assignments. if you miss class and don’t do homework or show up for tests then your teachers won’t be very willing to save your grade if it’s in trouble.
see your friends as much as possible. not to be a shoujo manga or something but make those memories! cherish your last year in high school! even if i hated high school, i still look back at senior year fondly because of how much i pushed myself to spend time with the people i like. this is the last year you will all be together, so go on those spontaneous 9pm boba runs and get those gym sessions.
but.. give yourself self-care dates and alone time. it’s okay to hang out by yourself. sometimes society (esp american society!) can make you feel like a loser for doing things by yourself. but going out alone can be really refreshing and a good experience before you set out on doing your own thing. learn to enjoy private moments even if you prefer always being around people.
rely on people. wow, this one. i had dozens of breakdowns senior year but! guess what! instead of crying alone and being stressed out in silence like i did all other three years of school, i started to text or call my friends for advice/help. it’s hard to learn to depend on people, but once you find a solid group of friends it truly makes a difference. letting someone know that you’re having a hard time will be a good thing; that’s what friends are for, after all!
try a lot of things. this is KIND OF overused but seriously, try new things. learn to play guitar, take care of a houseplant or two, find a local dance class to go to. the second half of senior year is seriously boring and finding a new hobby, especially with friends, makes things interesting! it’s also a good way to prepare to connect with people of similar interests in college.
Me? A #studyblr?
Why?
Well I hope to join a community of people who are like minded and enjoy things I enjoy. I also hope it keeps me responsible for my studying and organization constantly.
