This Hen and chicks plant (more like just hen and no chicks) hasn't yet produced (hatched out) any babies yet! So it looks more like a green lotus flower in a cute pink planter and blends with a watergarden background 🐔🐤🐥🐣 Hens and chicks (Sempervivum tectorum) is a mat-forming succulent native to Europe and Africa. Its growth habit features fleshy pointed leaves arranged in rosettes. The parent rosettes are the "hens" and the smaller rosettes that spring from them are the "chicks." Over time, this ground-hugging plant with a fondness for sandy, gravelly soil will spread to form colonies 2 feet wide or more. My love for cacti in miniature tea cups made me create these cute pieces that deserves admiration! This Echinopsis Tubiflora is one of my favorites 🌵 Some facts: The #echinopsis represents a genus that is one of the biggest with 128 species. The genus is home to plants species of different sizes. There are large-sized plant species and small-sized species too. What is common in all of these plants is the beautiful flowers present in each. The giant flowers (4-6 inches in size) are often multicolored with a beautiful blend. The colors and types of flowers can vary from the original Echinopsis thanks to the extensive hybridizing done on the plants.
