Inktober, Day 18: misfit.

I chose Baz for this prompt because Wayward Son showed us just how split Baz is between the world of mages and the world of vampires. The two are mutually exclusive—you can either be a mage, or a vampire, but not both. Except for Baz. He has a foot in each of these worlds, and can’t be fully himself in either one. He is always hiding one side or the other, depending on who he is with. The person Baz is most fully himself around is Simon, though he still feels like he needs to hide some parts of himself, like when he drinks blood. I designed this piece to represent the two sides that Baz has at odds within himself: a magic circle and wand for the world of mages; fangs and blood for the world of vampires.
