Ottowin Footwear was founded by couple Lucy Lloyd & Oliver Cross in 2016. Born out of a love for traditional footwear craft and contemporary design as well as a great respect for their chosen material, Leather. All of our footwear is made by hand in limited editions at the Ottowin Studio in Bristol, UK.

Our designs draw influence from traditional & wearable everyday styles, we use colour in complimentary and contrasting ways to lighten the tone of our footwear making a playful collection that can easily be worn with a range of styles.

In the 17th century on the Caen plain in Normandy near Mount Saint-Michel, Norman peasants made nets by hand. In 1860 these workers were organized and Filt was formed as a company. In 1944, the company increased mechanization in manufacturing using it’s expertise in working with diverse materials and techniques. Nets for fishing, sports, hammocks, are just some of Filt’s products along with their authentic filet a provisions. These net shopping bags used by many of our grandmothers have made a resurgence in France, but the quality and care with which they are made remain the same.

Ren London was founded by Ren Valuzyte, a London based designer and maker. With a passion for textiles and linen in particular, she set out to create a range of home goods that are simple and beautiful as they are functional to elevate everyday experiences. It all started with a small range of hand printed linens and as the brand and interest in Ren's process grew, she began teaching block printing workshops. Over a couple of years Ren grew her range to include a sustainably made womenswear line and regular block printing workshops in London and around the UK.

I make bowls, lamps, hollow forms and boxes from Irish grown woods, which I harvest and season myself. My wood is harvested from either dead or storm felled trees. I recycle old timbers and off-cuts which would otherwise be burnt or left to rot. I use oak, ash, elm, sycamore, beech, apple, cherry, sweet chestnut, yew and other woods. I season the wood myself. Seasoning takes at least six months, and can take up to two years, depending on the type of wood, and the condition of the tree before it is harvested.

Hasami, Nagasaki is one of the foremost pottery districts in Japan. Porcelain was first made in the area almost 400 years ago, during the Edo Period, and was not only distributed all over Japan but also exported to Europe through the port of Nagasaki. The establishment of a mass production system at an early stage ensured reliability in quality and price, and its rich tradition kept alive. HASAMI PORCELAIN was born under the direction of Takuhiro Shinomoto of Tortoise (Venice, California), whose innovative concept integrates tradition and modernity in tableware.

The core of the business is the brush binding manufacturing at Sandsborgsvägen, Enskede – here 5 visually impaired craftsmen from different cultures make brushes according to an old Swedish tradition. We also work with visually impaired craftsmen in Estonia. Like us, they too have a history strongly connected to the visual impairments movement.  

The brushes are sold in our two shops in Stockholm and in our online store but also all over Sweden and the world through our wholesalers. We continue to supply individual artisans across the country with raw materials.
