Artist: Elena König-Scavini (1886-1974)
Helen König-Scavini, also known as Elena König-Scavini, nicknamed Lenci, was an Italian teacher and artist. She was born in Turin, Italy, to an Austrian mother and a German father. Her personality and her predisposition for Art made her travel a lot in Europe which led her to Germany, where she graduated as a teacher in Düsseldorf in 1907 and started working. In 1915 she returned to Turin. After the loss of her first child from Spanish Flu, Elena started making dolls that she imagined could have been toys for her daughter. In 1919 she founded the toy factory Ars Lenci with her husband, and in 1928 the company also began producing artistic ceramics.

dyed my pottery apron since robin's egg blue isnt quite my jam. swapped sides of the towel ring and pocket to be left-handed-friendly. embroidered over the spot where the pocket used to be since the dye didnt penetrate there. and finally, added my makers mark to the chest, just for funsies.
