They are billions is a fun strategy game, and I have really enjoyed my first attempts at building a colony in this game. The game starts of fairly simple, gather food, get resources and expand. It is deceptively easy at the start, but one small mistake and it all comes crumbling down. Each building that falls summons more zombies, quickly infect your whole colony in a matter of moments. This style feels like you are balancing on a knifes edge and one slip up ends the game. It is a rewarding challenge, it requires a lot of vigilance and it is a fun formula that keeps you engaged. This game is still in early access and there is only a survival mode right now. I am looking forward to see what the story mode brings to the game and what kinds of scenarios and game modes are coming to this game in the future. I would personally love some sort endless horde mode with a slow trickle of zombies that builds until you are overwhelmed. Also some more special infected would be interesting, currently the on incentive to push out on the map is more resources, a special infected that spawns zombies to attack your base, some sort of Brood Mother type thing, that would force you to send an army to kill it, would be interesting. or a shrieking zombie that runs away and alerts a horde to attack if it reaches the edge of the map. Overall, I think this game has some huge potential and has revitalized this “tired of zombies” gamer to go back and spill some brains.
