autistic thirteen masterlist || greghatecrimes' house md project tracker
hello!! I'm anya greghatecrimes, and this is my house md sideblog! I've been drowning in the house md brainrot since june 2023. I'm 26 and my pronouns are they/she (in english) and она/её (по-русски). I'm a big fan of web weaving, writing meta, making shitposts (see #anya's bs (badly edited shitposts)) and over-analyzing canon. every once in a while I finish a fic and publish it to ao3 (link for that is in my bio!). i also occasionally post gifs, video edits, and self indulgent headcanons.
i follow/like from rhythmofsnow!
my asks are open! Response times vary widely due to The Horrors™️ (<- chronic illness/chronic pain) but I always love hearing from you guys!
my tag guide + links are below the cut. I try my best to tag all of my posts with corresponding character names and episode numbers (ex: 1x01, 4x15, etc.), because I'm autistic and nothing makes me happier than a good organization system <3
headcanons & writing, by AU:
you can read my fics on ao3!
for writing specifically focused on autistic!Thirteen, see the masterlist here.
my playlist masterpost is here!
#in the dirt - in-progress, post-canon fic; after the death of Wilson, House tracks down Thirteen to make good on his promise. my baby, my passion project, my white whale. (for extra lore, check out #itd lore dumps)
#two little ducklings - upcoming crack fic; Chase and Thirteen get magicked into their teenage selves (memories intact, just back in younger bodies). House gets stuck with them staying in his apartment until they can figure out how to turn them back. Grumpy dad moments and hilarious sibling shenanigans abound.
#baby thirteen au - Circa 1990, House becomes a single dad by somehow gaining custody of an eighteen month old Thirteen. Shenanigans ensue.
#baby ducks au - Branch of the "Baby Thirteen" AU. House raises both Thirteen and Chase.
#insane bisexual family - Crack AU where Chase and Thirteen accidentally call House “dad”.
#ppth starbucks run - a former barista's thoughts on what it would be like to have the cast of House MD as regulars in their cafe.

re: last reblog. people really treat thirteen's choice not to be tested as crazy because house does. but it really isn't. the genetic test for huntington's has been available since the 90s, and researchers have done surveys on this: about 90 percent of people at risk choose not to do pre-symptomatic testing. and they cite exactly the same reasons she does:
the two primary reasons why participants did not want to know their risk were because they felt no effective cure or treatment exists and their inability to undo the knowledge they learned from the test.
house treats it as crazy because he's house--and it is an interesting character choice because she's literally a doctor who's applying for a diagnostics fellowship. but like, it's a perfectly rational position. human beings are probably not psychologically equipped to live with the knowledge that they'll die a horrific death sometime in the future (exact date uncertain). i see a lot of people in the fandom claim they would chose to know but just statistically, they would probably feel differently if they were actually in that position.
Messy thoughts. I think a lot about Thirteen as a child helping her dad take care of her mother. How the boundaries would gradually erode between mother and daughter because her mother simply can't understand that concept anymore as she gets sicker from the Huntington's. And can't control her actions anymore either. Anne doesn't mean to upset Remy, but she does without fail. She likely doesn't intend to traumatize Remy, but she does, without fail. The scraps of their relationship that we see in canon make me ache.
university has very effectively taken up a shittonne of time, but I've been meaning to get back to drawing in my own time more, so I figured that getting back into posting regularly would let me hold myself accountable to that - so here we are!!
my commissions are still very much open, and I want to showcase my more recent and improved art in the hopes that I can sustain myself more off my own art :)
soooo I hope some of yall have hung around and are interested in seeing my recent and future art!! love yall, pooks 🫶
Fandoms will never be cool again because people refuse to sit down and play with the girl dolls. We need more Female Character fanart, more Female Character analysis posts, more Female Character centric fanfic without a male in sight.
hiiiii i was recently diagnosed w hyper mobility and told to go to PT but have been too stubborn to do so womp womp, in the meantime, do you have any pain management tips? items???? help????????? thank you sm xoxo
I absolutely have tips to share! also being too stubborn to go is so relatable LMAO. unfortunately i do highly recommend pt even though it feels kinda counter intuitive (why do move if move hurt??). BUT as long as you end up with a physical therapist who is familiar with hypermobility it can be life changing in a good way!
here's my general recommendations:
-this guy's youtube channel has tons of movements for helping with hypermobility and pain. he's a physical therapist that does tons of hypermobile focused stuff which is hard to find online ime!
-pain management -> all of my go to's for both over the counter meds and topical remedies (along with a few others) are listed here :)
-other things i love for hypermobility pain management that i don't think i mentioned in the post i linked: a foam roller, a thera cane (I have just a knockoff brand one instead of name brand), any kind of kinesio tape (taping limbs/joints to add more support and relieve some pain; i recommend looking up video tutorials on youtube), a pregnancy pillow or body pillow to hold when you sleep (helps your body stay in a more stable position), supportive insoles for your shoes (arch support is a must for me personally)
feel free to pop back in my inbox at any point if you have any more questions or if there's anything i can help with! <3
i cant explain how much season 5 of house feels like a romantic comedy. house wilson and cuddy are at their peak. foreman and thirteen are criminally underrated in the fandom but theyre hilarious and if your eyes are open youll see that the best duo in the season are taub and kutner. every once in a while we get cameron and chase cameos and that also helps prove my point. truly amazing
