much as we all dislike doing this, i'm going to have to ask yall for help either way, so here goes

please help get the lights and water on in my parents' home

we've been trying for months to get this trailer livable so that my parents can actually move into and get out of a stressful group living situation with a hoarder, but we simply cannot afford the up-front fees to get the plumbing and electrical connected to the lot

I just don't want them to suffer when they shouldn't be anymore. 5k is the bare minimum to get them in before winter starts to hit, but we need more if we want to actually build a back porch or get some needed major appliances

so, some news

we've gotten enough for a down payment to get a plumber out here, and the water systems should be hooked up by this friday. unfortunately, this does not mean the water will be running. there will still have to be inspections done, and electricity will have to connected and inspected as well before state law even allows utilities to be turned on.

we've made progress, but we can't do anything until ALL of it is completed.

this is unfortunately how the law of the state of Louisiana works in regards to these things. I'm still grateful for this, because it is still a step toward my parents finally living comfortably, but we have to keep going.

please keep sharing, even if you can't help us yourself, it still means something
