so almost exactly one year ago i fell asleep while catching up on skip and loafer, but in my dream i continued to read it. I dreamt that i came across this lovely scene where yuzuki shows makoto a manga she drew. I was so moved that I started crying, and when I woke up, I was simultaneously disappointed that it didn’t actually happen in canon and embarrassed that I had been moved to tears by a scene I had cooked up in my own yuri-obsessed mind. Anyway I drew it myself so now you can all read it too.

see the thing is right. I like o'shon! I think he's a fun character and he has the potential to have a layered and interesting story arc. but what we've seen of his relationship with ava so far has been... underwhelming. in general, abbott does a great job utilizing common sitcom beats & tropes while adding its own spin to them to keep it fresh, but ava's relationship with o'shon feels like a very generic cookie cutter romance. like yeah, he's her opposite in every way! he's serious and down to earth and not very materialistic which is a good contrast to ava's personality but there's no real intensity to their relationship. all of ava's character development has come from her interactions with other characters and all we've seen her get from her relationship with o'shon is don't be a dick when things don't meet your expectations? don't be mean to people making less money than you? it's more about watching two attractive people stand next to each other than watching a character find romance somewhere unexpected and grow as a person.
