Well, I wanted to pop up here just to let you guys know that I haven’t given up on this blog. I’m just very busy and extremely tired. I will possibly only be back later in a few months or so? I am so sorry about the wait and just disappearing into thin air but I promise, haven’t forgotten about this muse.

I have everything drafted and know who I owe a starter to even if it’s so little but feel free to leave me a message if you’d like to drop anything.

Again, sorry and thank you for being so patient.

The number of their alternates was quite large, but Kunai has long since gotten over it. There was some sense of community among them all even if they didn’t always get along.

“Yeah. It’s not that bad though. I mean, there’s no shortage of people to talk to, y’know?”

Kunai blinks as his alternate talks about his life. That was different. Very different. For the longest time, he’s considered himself the normal one, but it seems like this one might have him beat in that regard. After all, his counterpart was apparently an average highschooler.

“Really? That’s the one thing the rest of us have in common. A lot of us have different backgrounds even though most of us came to Inaba because of Junes. However, the investigation has always been a universal. Well, until now.”

He regrets mentioning personas. However, he’s never met a counterpart that didn’t have one before. Rubbing the back of his neck, he tries to figure out what to do now. How does he begin to explain that to someone who has never seen anything supernatural before?

“That’s… It’s complicated. And I’m not sure you’d believe me if I tried to explain it.”

{S}o there was a murder case for most of them? That was interesting to know but did this mean that the magi was the only one who didn’t have this sort of thing happening to him? He wonders if he’s somewhat special in this case. He tilt his head slightly at the mention that he wouldn’t understand but he quickly smiled and chuckled softly.

❝ Well, you can always try to explain, I mean- I’ve seen a whole lot of messed up things before. How about this: you tell me what a persona is and I tell you a little secret about myself in return? ❞

{Y}osuke raised a hand to his mouth like he was gossiping. It was only fair- exchanging supernatural things like this, right? Telling his alternate that he was a magical girl should be fascinating, right? At least… he hopes so.

❝ I’ll admit, I did leave out a few details earlier. You can’t just tell the good part right away, don’t you think? ❞

“Oh, goodness, that’s what I’m implying, Yosuke-kun.” She smiles when she sees how he reacts to her proposition and she’s actually relieved when he agrees to it. Sure, she knows she’s not the best cook even though currently learning still but that didn’t mean she’ll never progress through it. Plus, she’s realized that others only knew her as someone that would have the strangest quirks. “Of course, Yosuke-kun! I’ve got cookbooks to give to you if you ever want them. Plus, I heard the easiest to start off would be simple: like ramen and soup! I know they aren’t much but wouldn’t it be great to make a fantastic meal out of something so simple?” Her attitude has shifted to great positives and she’s giving Yosuke a beaming smile, so elated that he would join her in this too. Being Magi was painful but having a hobby would negate that, or so she believes.

{H}e returned the smile with a cheerful grin. Even if the topic went to grim to a more positive note, he was glad he was able to talk to Yukiko and plan more activities with her other than hunting.

❝ Do you have a lot of cookbooks, Yukiko-san? I heard some are expensive. Wouldn’t looking up recipes online faster? ❞

{P}erhaps it was only Yukiko who liked using cookbooks. She was always the old-fashioned type after all, which suit her pretty well.

“Don’t worry about it, I shouldn’t have startled ya. Sorry.”

Windy chuckled a bit, looking apologetic before he listened quietly to the other’s plight. Ah, practical vs favorite color. He looked thoughtful for a moment before coming up with a solution.

“Ah, I suggest practical along with a explanation as to why that color. That shouldn’t be too bad.”

He was still thinking of ideas, but that wasn’t a half bad one.

{I}t was less of a scare than he previously experienced and knowing it wasn’t something dangerous for once was a bit of a relief. Although, the other’s suggestion still made Yosuke a bit hesitant.

❝ Yeah, I could do that… but still. Honestly, I’m trying to avoid getting anything green for Yukiko-san. It brings up… painful memories but I doubt avoiding it all the time is a good idea too… That’s why it’s a bit complicated. ❞

{T}he magi sighed, a bit discouraged. He wished he could properly explain in what kind of situation he was in but would the alternate understand?

Upon putting thought into consideration, the red maiden smiles once she believes that she understood. Spicy but not too spicy that would burn off anyone’s tongues if they had a taste. Would that require measurements to ensure that something isn’t too spicy? Luckily she had the good old internet and cookbooks to look over that. “That’s wonderful, Yosuke-kun. Maybe you and I can definitely try cooking together. It won’t be that hard.” Her smile is a casual gentle one, for she wasn’t one to really blossom in the beauty. After all due to her family’s customs (the pain that twinges in her heart) taught her to be modest and respectful. Something she can do even to this day. A moments of silence and then she brightens up ever so slightly at a random thought, “Maybe we could go around and look at different produce! Learning about food is different than things at school.”

{T}he wind magi was a bit in disbelief. Yukiko wanted to cook with HIM? As in, they would be side by side making a meal together? He couldn’t help but blush slightly just thinking about it. Well, they did fight side by side before but there was nothing intimate about that.

❝ R-Really? You’ll cook with me? That sounds awesome! We could always go to Junes too. I still have my employee discount, you know? ❞

{H}e smiled a bit confidently. Even if Yukiko wasn’t the best cook, she could show him the ropes. Plus, how could Yosuke decline the help of Yukiko-san? He thought the only person who would have the chance to do that would be his partner.

❝ I’ll start looking for supplies as soon as possible then! ❞

Windy poked his head out from behind the corner when he heard the other muttering to himself and felt a pang of sympathy before walking up. He tapped his alternate’s shoulder with a warm smile.

“D'you need any help?”

He was thankfully able to help his alternate out in this sort of thing, having learned some more about the subject. But… he didn’t recognize this one. New to the multiverse?

{Y}osuke jumped slightly feeling someone lightly touching his shoulder. A bit too much if he almost dropped what he was carrying but thankfully caught it in his hands. Looking a bit surprised, his expression softened when he realized it was one of the other counterparts he heard about.

❝ O-Oh. Sorry about that, haha. Uhh… Well, I’m trying to get a gift for a friend but… I’m not sure if I should take this package with more supplies or this one with less... ❞

{I}t seemed like something so insignificant but there was another problem: the color. He didn’t want to mess this up.

❝ ...The more practical one is green but the one with less is red and it’s her favorite color… T-This is for Yukiko-san by the way. ❞

“— A little tingle?” She repeats in a mildly perplexed tone. What did that imply, exactly? She’s never really heard of anyone referring to a spice to that term but she’s curious, a tilt of her head that causes some of her hair to cascade down shoulders. Though that thought was gone once he asks her a question and she just smiles. “I just bought it at the store since I’m not one to have a green thumb. After all, greens not my color!” Yukiko says, though her shoulders just sort of droop after saying that. They both knew who liked the color green and it’s painful just to even think about it — “Maybe you should get a cookbook, and some measuring cups, Yosuke-kun. Those helped me a lot.”

{H}e tried thinking of an example but couldn’t think of anything on the spot. He wished he could tell her exactly how it felt as he tapped a finger on his lips but his effort was wasted.

❝ Oh yeah. Well, kimchi is easy to find… Oh wait! Kimchi has the same kind of feeli-- Oh... ❞

{H}e stopped mid-sentence, reminded of that color. Yosuke stayed quiet for a moment, rubbing his arm as if it would help him feeling better but it still hurts a bit. He can’t imagine how Yukiko feels like but he won’t comment on that.

He looked back at his friend, trying to smile slightly.

❝ Y-Yeah. I’ll give it a shot. Although, I don’t trust myself getting close to a flame by myself. ❞

{Y}osuke seemed to be a bit lost in thoughts looking at cooking supplies. He wasn’t sure which one to get. Should it be more practical along with… a color that brings a bit of pain looking at it or should he go with his friend’s favorite color to please her? The magi groaned a bit in irritation as he scratched the back of his head.

He definitely needs someone’s opinion right now.
